After our stay in the VIP lounge, we waltzed over to Tutto.
We had a nice waitress and a visit from a manager to discuss Laura’s allergies and vegan-ness. Unfortunately, Italians don’t really seem to understand veganism, and the only option for Laura was spaghetti with tomato sauce. On the menu, a whole wheat pasta primavera was listed, which would have been great, but we were told it actually wasn’t being offered that night. Laura prefers not to eat regular pasta, so I asked if she could have whole wheat pasta in any other dish, and the manager said they didn’t have the whole wheat pasta, and couldn’t make the primavera with any other pasta. Okay. Laura’s pasta was fine, but certainly should not have cost us $22.
Kevin got lobster ravioli, which he had oddly been craving a few days earlier. He said they were good, but I thought the portion was very small for the price (somewhere between $25 and $30).
I got cavetelli with tomato sauce that had ground up pieces of sweet Italian sausage in it and parmesan cheese on top. This was delicious. I must find a recipe for it and replicate. It was a pretty big portion too, so I felt like this was the only dish we had that somewhat approached the high cost (also in the high $20 area). I was too full to finish, so Kevy had some and also agreed that it was great.
I really loved my meal, and would like to go back and get it again, but Tutto has such limited options for Laura that I doubt we’ll be back. It’s also very expensive. That fact does make it a good value if you’re on the dining plan, so if you’re on the dining plan, eat meat products, and don’t have food allergies, go to Tutto (and order what I got)!
After dinner, we were tired from having slept only a few hours the night before (before our early morning flight), so we headed back to the Beach Club (it was about 6 pm at this point).
Stalker pic of “George,” (on the right) one of our fav CMs and proprietor of the American Adventure, who is always there (every day, every time of day, for years) and performs all duties associated with the show.
