Hello from across the pond! My family has a big trip coming up this summer. Our flight schedule has changed and now we have a 16 hour layover at LHR (0600 to 2200 on Saturday 7 June). Our first thought was to visit WB Hary Potter studios. Morning and daytime tickets are sold out though. We plan to keep checking in hope that some earlier tickets become available. We did look at purchasing through Golden Tours, we won't use the included transportation and feel that paying more than twice the price is just not worth it. We visited London a few years ago and plan to be back in the next couple of years so we CAN wait, we just WANT to go this time.
I'm now looking at *new to us* things we could do during the layover. Windsor Castle sounds like a lovely day. I'm also eyeing Legoland. DS10 love Legoland in Florida when he was 7. He went on every ride he could, only skipping some Duplo rides. I'm wondering how Legoland Windsor compares to the Florida park. Crowds on a Saturday in early June? Will a 10 year old enjoy it?I've also looked into Hobbledown Heath+Gripped and Thorpe Park. Any suggestions and feedback are welcome! We'll be well rested from our first flight and ready for some adventure. We are comfortable renting a car for the day or taking public transit. Thanks for the help
