Ok we chose May 16-22 for our next trip

We chose this because it is the week after finals so most people will still be in school (college/highschool/other)

Ok here is the problem

STAR WARS WEEKEND
+ FLOWER AND GARDEN
+ NICE WEATHER
--------------------------
Trouble?????

Let me know what you think

I sure hope those three things do not mean packed crowds because those are our dates too! :cool1:

Star Wars weekend only affects MGM on the weekend, and only specific areas of the park, you can avoid most of it if you want.

Flower and Garden shouldn't have any affect, Epcot handles crowds very well. If any big crowds, I would expect them on the weekend also.

Not to worry I was there around the same time a few years back. It was not your mid January crowd, but as long as you have a plan and follow it, you won't even feel the crowds! You are going to have a great time!

We were there last year from 10-16 of May not crowded really we tried to do magic kingdom during the week because we did hear that it tends to crowd up on the weekends. The weather was great only 1/2 of rain not to hot nice little breeze. The flower expo was really nice I think we did that on a Sat. and don't really remember waiting to ride anything on that day. Hope this helps we are going back for the same dates this year.

We never look at whats going on at WDW when picking out dates. We have never had any problems with crowds either. The parks are huge and you can get everything done with just alittle planning. We go when we want and mainly pick dates out of the heat of summer and when children are susposed to be in school. Been there during the golf invitational in October and never noticed large exceptional crowds, just seems like a normal day to us when we're there. Go, don't worry about it, enjoy yourselves and plan for your return trip, we do.

Enjoy! We went that same time a few years ago and loved it. Star Wars weekends weren't too bad, it was more crowded than other times we went, but it was alright. The only downside, was the time we went, it was very hot in the middle of the day waiting for parades. There could be worse things to worry about. We ended up just swimming in the midday and went back to the parks for the wonderful, cool evenings.

I highly suggest signing up for Tour Guide Mikes site (www.tourguidemike.com) and use his touring plans for those exact dates. He will take all of those things into consideration!
I leave in 2 days and have been sooooo impressed with his site so far (my best friend is at Disney right now and said his tips were wonderful--no waiting in lines AT ALL).

I don't think there ever really is a down time anymore. We made our ressies for Dec 2-9, because we wanted to see the Christmas decorations and we wanted to get there before the Christmas crowd fills the parks. So after booking, I learn about Pop Warner. Oh well...it's Disney and I'm getting to go :woohoo: Nothing else really matters!

I have gone the past three years close to that week in May (leaving the weekend Memorial Day crowds start arriving) and it will be great! If you want to avoid large crowds at MGM just plan to go on a day other than Start Wars weekend. However, we've done SW weekends and found that if we got there at park opening we walked on several rides and had no more than a 10-15 min. wait for TOT or RNR. Crowds starting building by lunchtime and we just left and went to another park. The flower and garden festival is beautiful, weather is beautiful and the crowds are manageable. Every morning we walked on most rides in all of the parks and in the afternoons we might have had a 35 minute wait for some of the more popular rides but that's when we would use fast pass. I say you should definitely go...you won't regret it :goodvibes
