Uh, oh!! Rev. Pat Robertson's talking again!!!

Oh, for the love of Pete!
Honestly, how is it even possible that this man still has a following? Please tell me there aren't people who really believe Robertson and agree with him! :confused3

So Laugh O Grams, tell me. When is the last time I have seen a post where you have made fun of a Muslim cleric??? Enquiring minds want to know? Or do you just save your wrath for Christians.?
I didn't see any wrath against a Christian, only against Pat Roberton

I would just like to see Laugh O Grams post that Muslim cleric spouting stupidity with the same enthusiam that he spouts comments by Pat Robertson. Just a little more "fair and balanced".

The topic of this thread is about Pat Robertson. Pat Robertson made the news today by making what some people think, are stupid, weak, incindiary comments about God wreaking havoc on a small town in PA because of their recent vote.

If a Muslim cleric has made news today by making what some people think are stupid, weak, incindary comments about God wreaking havoc on a small town in PA because of their recent vote, you should feel free to start another thread on the topic.

So to recap: This thread is about Pat Robertson and his insane comments. It is not about Muslim clerics.

OK, so the town voted all 8 folks off of a school board. Surely there were a few that voted NOT to do that. Maybe someone should remind Mr. Robertson of the story of Sodom & Gamorrah, or is he actually implying that there are no good people in Dover at all? Remember, God promised to spare the cities for one good person.

I think Pat needs to read the Bible before he speaks about God destroying a US town. Better yet, I think people should stop sending him $$$.

I'm a God believing Christian and I'm sorry, but that man IS an embarrasment to my Religious sect. That's just my personal opinion and for those who believe what he says, fine. If a Muslim cleric said ridiculous things, and some have, Khomeni comes to mind, I take them out on it also. Stupidity knows no religious boundaries.

::yes::

When my cable provider starts broadcasting The 700 Virgins Club, I'm sure I'll have plenty to talk about. Until then, Rev. Robertson will have to do. :teeth:

:confused3 What, doesn't Al Jaziera carry that? ;) :rotfl: Can't you get satelite dish and link up? :rotfl:

I said it before on the PR vs. Chavez thread:
Pat Robertson is a buffoon and needs to go away
and live a quiet life as a mere citizen.
What's frightening is that there are many people
who listen to him, and wait for his pronouncements.
I am not one of them.
He does have influence, some power, and is still credible to many,
and I sincerely wish no one would give his opinions the time of day,
at least not via the media...

Find us an example and we'll talk. But make sure the cleric has the same clout, power, and lust for media attention. Otherwise it's just simply not a valid comparison.

And make sure that Muslim cleric has a hotline and money pipeline into the WH.

Dawn, we ALL just said we would take on any Muslim cleric that spouts stupidity that you want to throw at us. What more do you want?

I'm sitting here with baited breath waiting for some stupidity from Dawn.

As a Christian, I find Pat Robertson to be a regular source of embarrassment. From calling out hurricanes to strike Orlando to recommending assassination for foreign leaders and now suggesting that if a disaster strikes Dover, PA that people should "pray" to Charles Darwin... I wish PR would just shut up!

My only hope is that people realize he does not speak for all Christians and like most religious extremists has a small, cult-like following that is not indicative of Christianity as a whole.

This is a great idea. People should wake up and smell the coffee... stop funding him and he'll disappear.

Ah, but it doesn't make any difference no matter how many people denounce what he says. They (the left) use him as a reason to bash the Religious Right.

Give some examples where the religious right have sternly denounced Pat Robertson for his hate filled statements.

::yes:: However, it'd be very nice if PR didn't give them so much free ammunition! As it is the Religious Right does well enough starting fires of controversy with the Left and Center without PR standing on the balcony with a bullhorn in one hand and a can of gasoline in the other -- screaming inanities and adding fuel to the fire.
