Uh-oh, didn't use Kohl's cash!

I bought some Christmas gifts at after-Christmas sales and JUST TODAY went through the bags to package them nicely for their year-long wait . . . and -- I can't believe I did it -- I discovered that I'd forgotten that I had $20 in Kohl's cash. It expired January 29th. Today's February 1st.

Are they at all lenient with dates (like Bed, Bath & Beyond?) or am I just out of luck? If so, I have no one to blame but myself. It was just plain dumb not to pull those receipts out and put them in my calendar when they were brand-new.

There was a post about this about a week or two ago. The answers vary. My main Kohl's will absolutely NOT let you use expired Kohl's cash. Othere charged a nominal fee perhaps $1.

So - it just sort of depends.

And stop by in person, it is easier to so no to you on the phonle.

I have successfully used Kohls cash after the date twice now. I think it just depends on who you talk to. One time I tried to use it at the register and the cashier told me no. I went to the service desk and they ok'd it. Last time around I had $60 in cash and used it 2 days late. I was very apologetic (I really just had forgotten to use them) and they were very good about it.

i would try and use it because our local kohl's here will accept it after the expiration date...she said they don't tell you that but they will take them...

Thanks. I guess it's worth a drive over there tomorrow to try. At the worst, they say no, and I'm exactly where I am now. At best, I get to use it.

I am very happy to report that I was able to use my Kohl's cash! If I had been turned down, it would've been totally my own fault, but they certainly did keep my good will by taking my two-day expired coupons!

I hope this is true for all locations. I am so embarassed to say that I have about $50 in Kohl's cash. I had $50 before my trip in December and meant to use them on-line - well, as one can imagine -- we were doing WDW things and not shopping at Kohls.com during that trip. I remembered about it on the plane home. Duh!

I got $20 Kohl's cash from pre-Christmas shopping. It was good for the week between Christmas & New Year's, when we were traveling. I came across it 2 days after it expired and figured it was no good so I threw it away I thought about going to one of our 2 local stores, but didn't think they would take it. Now I know to at least try if I run into this again.

I have used Kohl's cash after it expired. I'm not rude about it, but have matter of factly told the mgr (who had to approve its use) that it was my fault but if they did not want to allow me to use that was fine. But the purchases I made would be coming back as it was nothing that I really needed and the purchases were still in the gray shopping bag. They happily accepted my Kohl's cash. I try very hard to use it in the time frame but sometimes life happens! and with my health issues lately, redeeming Kohl's cash hasn't been at the top of my list of priorities. Well actually nor has the shopping to earn been a priority either!

I've got a $20 and a $10 we haven't used. There hasn't been any need to shop for a while, so they expired without use. I think we'll try to use them eventually....

Do you have to have the actual "cash" with you or can you use the receipt from the purchase when you got the "cash" or can they look up your account and see that you earned the "cash"?

Oh man - I tried once and the cashier said no....since then I have let that happen twice and just threw it out (I hate when I do that!) I wish been a little more persistent and at least asked at the service desk or tried again another time.

I always put them in my wallet, but the date comes and goes - I definately need to start writing it on the calendar.
