So have you stayed at the GC Villas??? Those look soo nice from what i've seen!

Just stayed there two weekends ago for the opening of F&W and I'm going back this weekend for my birthday. If you check my siggie there is a link to my trip report where I have lots of pictures. We had a theme park view which was AWESOME!!!!!!!

I'm also doing a F&W review which so far has been pretty great too!

Call me psycho, I will be getting up to make the ADR's as soon as I can, but you are right, I dont have to get up as early :)

What are we planning on being for MNSSHP... I threw around the idea of being Alice, but I worry since it will still be so new that everyone might be thinking the same thing... so we are going another route! DH is going to be The Shadow Man, the villian from the Princess and the Frog... I am planning on being Tinkerbell. Now I know that seems like old and everyone does it, and a bit skimpy... HOWEVER! I am going to make the outfit she wore in the most recent movie of hers...(This is where I was going to insert a link to show the picture of her oh so cute outfit, only to be rejected bc I haven't done 10 posts yet... *Sigh*) My friend is going to dress as Rosetta, one of Tink's fairy friends, and her DH is *thinking* about being Peter Pan... he isnt sure yet :confused3

I wish WDW would make over some of the rides for the holidays! I haven't seen anything like that before!!! Am I just completely missing something?? That would be a great way to see It's a Small World...

Definitely wearing the hats when we are 70 and they dont even make them anymore :rotfl:

Sorry to take up your whole Dining Review with silly chatter!!! :guilty:

Just wanted to post before this is COMPLETELY over to tell you that I read (and lurked) through the whole report and you are adorable and funny and I have loved all of your reviews! What a great trip you two had!

Oh, and you can count me as another DVC owner who wishes we'd done it earlier!! Go for it!!

Thanks for the great reviews. I'll be keeping an eye out for your next one in 2012!!

The Wave is good, isn't it?! We ate there for the first time in March..and we made an ADR for when we're there in July. I do have to admit though, my family was really sad to see the Concourse Steakhouse go. :guilty:

Do you usually do B/L/D??? I'm really tempted to try out the Breakfast menu next time! Looks and sounds great!

Good for you! Sounds like you are very disciplined to get up early and work out. Yes, I am still doing Chalean Extreme. I am in the last week of the Push Phase right now (the one where you lift the heaviest and do fewer reps). This is my second round. I start the Lean Phase next, for a month. Then I am thinking of maybe going back to more cardio and higher reps with lighter weights to change it up. My muscles are much more developed but I kind of miss doing a lot of cardio. Also, I take my measurements once a month and they went up slightly the last 2 times. I do mean slightly...like 1/4 to 1/2 inch in each area. Still, that makes me nervous that I am going to get bigger and I definitely don't want to do that! But supposedly this program is not supposed to make women get bigger because of lack of testosterone. I don't know...part of me is saying to go back to doing more cardio for a while, and part of me is saying to just stick to this. I may change it up in the beginning of June until the trip, and then I can bring my cardio DVDs and do the workouts on vacation. Since we have a 1-bedroom I will have the space. This of course would be on days we are not going to the parks. I got the pedometer from Weight Watchers to wear on the days we are in the parks because I want to see just how much walking I actually do! And for the few days we're in Boca Raton before Disney, we're in the Embassy Suites in a 1-bedroom suite...we've stayed there before and I have worked out to my DVDs in that same room so I know I can! Of course I'll change my mind 10,000 times between now and when I am done with the Lean Phase in the beginning of June! :rotfl: Who knows...I may keep up with Chalean Extreme anyway...we'll see!

I LOVE doing cardio! I love putting my ipod on and just running, jamming out to the music...it kind of allows me to get out of the "stress mode" and into something so refreshing and exhilarating! Helps me refocus definitely! Wow, you're going to bring your dvds with you to the World? Not THAT'S disciple right there! :rotfl: But once you get into a strict schedule, it's just kind of natural to want to work out after you've been doing it for so long.

Ugh, and today we got some bad news...I was telling you that DH was student teaching right now at a high school, in hopes of becoming a PE teacher there...well today he found out there are no spots available for the next school year...:sad1:...I feel bad for him because he's been putting in his 40+ hours a week there, with no pay, PLUS being their baseball coach after school which is another 2 1/2 hours a day not including games and tournaments on the weekends, to just be let down. I mean, I know there was no guarantee, but it's still very disappointing to find this out, and STILL have to do the same routine through the beginning of June, knowing you're not going to have a job after all that...:sad2:...sorry just needed to tell someone about it...

I posted on your TR for both the F&W and the VGC....that view was so amazing!!! And seriously all that food looks soooo good! I'm really hoping to be able to our booties over there before our AP's expire!!

Omgosh such a good idea...the Shadow Man!! That costume would look so awesome too! And as for Tinkerbell...I think that's adorable! Whenever you're permitted to, post the link here so I can view what you're talking about!

I wish WDW would make over some of the rides for the holidays! I haven't seen anything like that before!!! Am I just completely missing something?? That would be a great way to see It's a Small World...

Seriously, the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay is my absolute FAVORITE!!! If you're in LOVE with NBC, like I am, you'll love this! They incorporate so much of the movie into the mansion, it's insane! I know I was really hoping that WDW would do something like that too...I was reading a thread a loong time ago, about how WDW vets would feel about getting that overlay on their Haunted Mansion, and I don't think it blew over too well with them! :lmao: But if they were able to ride it once over here in Cali, they may change their minds! And plus, changing it up every once in a while is fun, ya know!?

Definitely wearing the hats when we are 70 and they dont even make them anymore :rotfl:

:lmao: By the time your 70, people are gonna be like, "That is soooo 2008!"

Silly chatter is what my thread is for dear! Plus I looove talking!!! Haven't you noticed!!??? :rotfl:

:

I feel so bad for your DH. My friends son has been struggling with his college decision. He wants more than anything to be a HS PE teacher and wrestling coach. His was accepted to many schools based on his wrestling but in the end today chose a school that wasn't specifically training for PE. He knew it was hard getting a PE job but now with cuts, especially in NJ, gym will soon be an elective. He chose a school where he can leave able to teach history not PE. It's ashame how few PE teaching jobs are available. I hope over the summer another school picks him up.

I feel so bad for him too...especially because he's still working on his Master's and getting his credential at the same time right now...so I know he's thinking, "Why am I even getting my degree/credential if it's going to be of no use here"...we're having HORRIFIC cut backs here too. I know he also feels like he's not being the "man" he "should" be (i.e. being the breadwinner, etc, blah)...I know there's an ultimate plan for him though which will be the BEST plan...courtesy of the Big Guy..it just stinks right now...thanks for hearing me out!:grouphug:

Do you usually do B/L/D??? I'm really tempted to try out the Breakfast menu next time! Looks and sounds great!

We did lunch there in March and will be doing dinner there in July. I didn't know there was a breakfast menu!

Lesha, hope your DH gets a new teaching placement soon. I know things are so difficult with the economy in the US (it's the same here in the UK) and there are so many priorities, government is always promoting kids being active, so surely we need those PE teachers. Hugs to you.

So I now have the ability to post pictures and links!
newtinkerbell.jpg

So this is the Tink I am planning on making... shhh don't tell! teehee
We are really excited about pulling together his shadow man costume also... Can't wait!!

NBC is definitely one of my favorites :lovestruc (though this is not where my "screen name" is from, as some may think! but on this board I find it works appropriately... anyway!) So it sounds like they may never NBC makeover at the world huh? It wouldn't be permanent... I think it would be AWESOME!!! I might need to think about going to DL some time in the future around Halloween!

By the time your 70, people are gonna be like, "That is soooo 2008!" and I can't help but think I will be 2000 and late :rotfl:

I was just reading about your DH and the HS PE teaching let down. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that this sad downturn will actually prove to be for the better when something oh some awesome comes to him. Sounds like a HS with a need for an great baseball coach could find him tempting! They are actually talking about cutting PE from our middle and elementry schools around here! how dumb is that!! I will keep you all in the thoughts and prayers that he can find a perfect place for himself and his gifts.

Mmm, yes the breakfast menu looks so yummy! I need to check out that Dinner menu though...for some reason I've never considered having dinner at The Wave...perhaps another possiblity...

Thanks for the kind words:hug:...he has a lot of people pulling for him right now to get in somewhere..anywhere at this point...I mean yes he can substitute everyday until he gets a job (his aunt is the one in charge of calling the subs, so he's lucky enough to get called first for jobs :worship:), but there's nothing like having a permanent place to call your work. With the increase of childhood obesity, you'd think they would add more health/pe classes to a childs education...not only will it be keeping our children healthy, but it will be saving our government money :confused3....ahh, it's another day today though, so it's going to be better! :thumbsup2

Omgosh SOOOO cute!!! You're DEFINITELY gonna have to make it now...no exceptions! I think that will turn out so good! You better be posting pics of that later when you start making it! Same with the Shadow Man!!!

Ahh, ok I thought your screen name was related to NBC...you guys should seriously consider coming out here in the future! Plus they keep up the NBC overlay from Halloween all the way to the beginning of the New Year, so there would be plenty of time to see it! :thumbsup2

"and I can't help but think I will be 2000 and late :rotfl:" BAHAHA!!!:rotfl2: VERY NICE!

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers :goodvibes I know it's bound to get better and we both need to keep that positive mentality, otherwise we'll stress ourselves out to the core!

I'm sorry to hear about your DH not getting a teaching position for the Fall. Things are terrible here with the school system too, despite the fact that NYC has the strongest teachers' union in the country. Both the city and the state keep making cuts in education, closing down large high schools and reopening them as 4 or 5 different smaller high schools, only to find out that the graduation rates are exactlt the same as before but they are now paying 4 or 5 principals to be in one building instead of paying only one principal's salary. Makes no sense. They hire these people who were never even inside a classroom to evaluate the schools, and if your staff is not "trained" to speak to the in their "language", they give your school a bad grade despite the fact that your teachers are doing everything they are looking for...but when they meet with those teachers, if the teachers don't know the correct vocabulary words (literally, this is so sad) that they want to hear, they give the school a terrible grade. So if I say that I teach the students according to (what used to be known as) multiple intelligences and the way they are intelligent and that not all students are always working on the same exact activity, that is not good enough. I have to tell them that I am "incorporating differentiated instruction into my lessons according to the students' learning style and readiness" into my daily teaching routine. So the wording is what matters more, we have old textbooks and outdated materials but they keep making cuts...and the students suffer because of it...so sad really.

OK, I'll stop my tantrum now! It is good that your husband can sub. By doing that he is keeping himself open to a position when one becomes available. And who knows what will happen between now and the end of the summer? I am not familiar with the education system in California, but I know that here in NYC, sometimes you find out at the last minute that something is available. That's how I started teaching...right out of college, I interviewed but there were 5 people ahead of me for the job (things in NYC were based on seniority back then but now they are not anymore). I figured I would sub and go to grad school in the mean time. So, a few days before the school year started, I got a phone call that the position is mine if I want it. I went to the school that day to fill out my paperword and started a few days later. You never know! Also, sometimes in the middle of the school year someone either retires or goes on materity leave or something. I know many teachers who got their jobs that way. And then there is the factor of people who are so bitter that they never tell anyone they are actually retiring until the last minute. And then boom, something opens up. So keep hoping, and eventually something great will happen, I'm sure of it! ;)

Here's some pixie dust for you guys, and a hug!! pixiedust:

Thanks again for an awesome review! I am so pumped to try some of these great places!

Keep that positive mentality! that is definitely the way to go! I need to take a note from that book!

Have a wonderful week!

That's exactly how it is here too....so i'm trying to be optimistic about this, and say we still have all the way up until August for something to maybe come available. Yeah, I'm really grateful that he'll be able to sub full time. The only thing with this is that, we want to build a house, but we found out that they don't consider a "Substitute Teacher" a job, so they couldn't count his earnings towards a loan for a house, HOWEVER, they will count his debt (school loans) towards a loan...we could use just my income but the house we would "like" to have is a little bit more than than my loan would account for. So the only thing we can do now is rent (which is fine I guess, I would just HATE to put money into something that will never be ours), but we have to do, what we have to do right? :confused3

Thanks for the positive words! :goodvibes Now just to wait...I consider myself a pretty patient person, but goodness this one KILLS!! :lmao:

Anyways, it's May now...which brings us closer to your TRIP! Are you going to be updating your Pre-TR anytime soon?

I will definitely post pictures as I work on the costumes!! :)

Hope you're having a great week! I'm going to be posting my final thoughts, probably today, so I hope you'll be around!!!

That's it, just stay positive! You're lucky you're patient...I'm a positive but impatient person! So I look on the bright side of things but I can't wait for them to happen at the same time! As far as the house, things will happen for you guys. You're young, which is a definite plus! That means that after a 30-year mortgage is paid off, you will still be young! It is important to think of the future because time goes so fast. DH and I thought about that at a very young age and we put lots into retirement, and we also bought a house when we were in our 20s. We're turning 33 this year (DH on Thursday and me next month!), and July will be 6 years that we own our house!

As far as my pre-TR, I have been playing with Ride Max (yes, I got sucked into yet another planning tool! :lmao:), and it has been really cool. It tells me the exact time of everything which I like. However, July wasn't up last week in the system so I have been just playing around with random dates in June, including EMH mornings, top get an idea. What else would you like to see in my pre-TR? Any special requests? I know a lot of people post pics but I am funny about that on a public forum...I guess I get paranoid. How would I even do that? Do I need to pay for a photo bucket account? Any thoughts?

So were you about the same age as us when you bought your house? 26-27? I'm not sure why I'm thinking this but I just feel so old saying I'm barely going to be buying my house at 27...it might be because my brother's 24 and built/bought a house and all his friends/my friends who are younger then me, own their homes too...I feel like I'm falling behind...I KNOW I shouldn't be thinking like that but I can't help it...

Ridemax is very cool!:thumbsup2 I used it a few times for Disneyland(never really needed it though; just wanted to see how it worked!) And we got a lot accomplished!

:lmao: When I first became a member on the Dis, and reading through peoples TR, I was always thinking, "DANG! These people don't care what pictures they put up here!" :rotfl2: But then again, I would never know what anything looked like without their pictures...I would never know what School bread looked like, or how the rooms looked at CSR without people on the Dis, so I figured, as long as i'm not posting anything too personal on here, I should return the favor for those who helped me! :thumbsup2

Photobucket is free! You would just copy and paste the url that Photobucket gives you for that particular image, copy and paste it into your message and voila your pic appears! If you do decide to do it and need help, just let me know!

I mean, if i'm ever gonna become a DVC member, I NEED to see how your room looks at the BWV's!:rotfl:

OK let's see...DH was about to turn 27 when we went to contract on our house. About a week later I found out I was pregnant (planned!)!! :) I turned 27 about 3 weeks after that. So that would put us at early June 2004. We closed and took possession of the house at the end of July. It took a month for all the work to be done and then we moved in at the end of August, and everything was done very quickly! I needed everything to be done before the school year started right after Labor Day and I had to go back to work! That was back when DH was working full-time as a massage therapist. We made the Labor Day BBQ at our house, I insisted! :lmao: I'm even crazier than that...I was 7 months pregnant when we had Thanksgiving at our house, because I always said that we were going to make the first Thanksgiving in our house the same year we bought it! And we did! I know, I'm nuts!

We were very young compared to most people around here. We were 24 when we got married, and a lot of our friends have gotten married recently, which is more the norm around here. Most people I know get married and have kids well into their 30s. And many don't own a home, but some own a Co-op (they own an apartment in a big building). Houses are very expensive in Brooklyn, so a lot of people venture out to the suburbs, but the suburbs of NYC have higher real estate tax than the city, plus the commute for those who still have to work in the city (cost of either public transportation, or fuel costs, and if you live in NJ and work in NYC there are tolls too). So living in or around NYC costs a lot. This is probably a big reason why people tend to get married older here than some other parts of the country, although with salary in relation to cost of living I guess it's all relative no matter where you are. Either way, don't feel like you are old to be doing what you are doing...just do everything whenever you are comfortable and when it is meant to happen! ;)

You are right about people's pics here on the DIS. What would I do if I had never seen a Dole Whip before my 2008 trip when I first tried one? :confused3:rotfl: I totally get what you are saying. I'm more nervous about something like posting pics of my kids and even of us sometimes. Mainly my kids though, but I don't have to post of them. I really don't like their pics being on a public site. Even on something like facebook, I have all the privacy settings in place. Also the fact that I'm a high school teacher, and kids and their parents can go to any of these sites, that has something to do with it! But I would love to take pics of the food and do a review of all the wonderful restaurants we will be enjoying. That I definitely don't mind doing, and I will check out photo bucket! Thanks so much! :goodvibes

You'd think I would be less paranoid about these things...back in 2007 when I gave birth to my younger son, we appeared on the TV show "A Baby Story" on The Learning Channel (TLC). My older son Philip was in it too, he was 2 years old at the time! And they keep re-running the episode too! So I put my family on national TV but I seem to have more issues with the internet.

Hope you're having a great week! I'm going to be posting my final thoughts, probably today, so I hope you'll be around!!!

Sorry I was MIA there!! :) Things got so busy in life and work... BUT we have made our ADR's!!!!

Day 1: Tutto Italia for dinner
Day 2: Le Cellier for lunch
Day 3: O'Hana's for dinner
Day 4: Coral Reef for dinner
Day 5: Beirgarten for dinner
Day 6: Kona Cafe for breakfast

:)

I am so excited! I am going with A LOT of people... so I am going to try to do a dining review. As well as a Halloween party review.

We are going to pop on over to Universal to check out the Harry Potter stuff on the last couple days... is that considered a big no-no on these boards? :confused3

I hope things are going well for you! I told DH that I made a friend on here :woohoo: he thought I was "special"

Anyways, just wanted you to know I was still alive and not ignoring your posts!:littleangel:

Hey Lil Lesha!! I just wanted to send some :hug: and :goodvibes:goodvibes your way :) I really understand your frustration, as bangzoom said, sooo many of my NY teacher friends are struggling to find jobs :sad2: It's so hard. DH was laid off 10 days after we got back from our honeymoon, and was out of work for almost 6 months, which was the hardest time ever...But we came out of it. I know that your wonderful DH will find a good job soon enough. Like you said, in education things can come up very last minute. I'm sure he's an amazingly qualified candidate, and I'm praying for you guys :goodvibes

On the house front, don't feel behind! It's more important to be able to afford the real estate you invest in, and also to invest in the right property, than to just buy something to own a house. I do know how tough it is though, to see your friends and family buying homes they love, and you're not. I bought the townhouse we live in in 2003 and fixed it up. I never intended to stay a long time, and still here we are! We really want to sell and find a bigger place of our own so we can eventually start a family, but right now that's just not financially possible at all. Our friends are getting their homes and it' just hard to be in the same little space and not have really an end in sight for now...But we will prevail!!!!

GIRLLLL you need to get to NY!! If you have a minute in your hectic life, check out my dining PTR here, you're mentioned in my EPCOT day (aka La Cava day:laughing:)

I hope you have a nice day today in sunny Californey!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I just wanted to say that I found your Dining Reviews very entertaining and informative :thumbsup2 You're hilarious haha  I love how you included so many pictures too... I have found few other reviewers with as many as you have.

I am new to the forums and after looking at a few, this is my favorite review thread thusfar :flower3: Your thread has been of great help to me as a first-time visitor to Disney this summer. I am in the process of making ADRs... still trying to get Le Cellier for dinner (and I've heard that it's very hard to get) :worried:

Again, Thank-you very much!! :lovestruc

I have a question if you don't mind :) : is there a reason you picked Cape May over Chef Mickey's? I'm currently deciding between the two... initially I planned to go the dinner route, but those Mickey waffles do look delicious  ... (and Cape May's character is only breakfast!) I have already made an ADR for The Crystal Palace's dinner, and would like just one more character meal

WHOA! I was gone for a minute, but now I'm back to finish this thang up!

OK let's see...DH was about to turn 27 when we went to contract on our house. About a week later I found out I was pregnant (planned!)!! I turned 27 about 3 weeks after that.

You're definitely nutso! :rotfl: I already find it hectic enough to cook for 4 people on the weekday, I can't imagine doing it for 15+ people!!!!

I was 22 when we got married and DH was going to be turning 23 a few days later. So we were relatively young. A lot of people (kids) around here get married at 18/19! But fortunately enough, those same couples are still happily married today, so great for them!

I think it was even harder for DH and me, because we had NO careers whatsoever...just jobs to get by while we were working on our getting our degrees! But if we can make it through all that, I'm sure we can make it through anything! :thumbsup2

Goodness, teachers have to be sooo careful with what they post on public forums, I really don't blame you for being paranoid about it. Any single thing you post, can be misconstrued by a student, and with the way kids are being catered to today, anything can get a teacher fired nowadays!

Omgosh, i used to watch that show ALL the time! I probably watched your episode!! How fun to have that all documented on tape, and you can refer back to it whenever you want! That's too cool! And they're still re-running it? I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for you then!

Your ADR's look Fab!!! You're gonna have such a great time! Jealous right here! haha!

OMGOSH! I SOOOO wanna check out HP's land!! Or is it World?? Anyways, you HAVE to take pics of all that and post it! If for no one else, then me because I wouldn't mind taking one day out of our trip to go see that! I LOVE HP and have always loved it since high school...have been to every midnight showing except for this last one...I'm getting to old to stay up that late to watch a three hour movie! :lmao: But am so stoked on the next movie!

I hope things are going well for you! I told DH that I made a friend on here he thought I was "special"

Don't you love making friends on here! And not just friends, but Disney friends, who share the same love as you do, and you won't get made fun of because of it! :rotfl:

Anyways, just wanted you to know I was still alive and not ignoring your posts!:littleangel:

Thanks for the kind words! :goodvibes Wow can't believe that happened right after your honeymoon! What a way to start your life, right?! But it turned out great in the end...now I just have to have patience and wait it out too...

EXACTLY! I've been telling DH that we have to find the "perfect" place for us, and to not just rush it, because everyone else has a place and we don't...and places here are getting cheaper and cheaper by the week!! It's almost like we should wait a little bit longer to buy, since prices are coming down MAJORLY. A few weeks ago, we were looking at a house, and I happened to look back at that property two days ago, and it had already come down $7000! Who knows what it will be in a month, if it's still there that is!

GIRLLLL you need to get to NY!! If you have a minute in your hectic life, check out my dining PTR here, you're mentioned in my EPCOT day (aka La Cava day:laughing:)

Aww you're too kind! :worship: I love looking at food pictures, and i'm a very visual person, so when I'm trying to read a report on food without pictures, it's harder for me to visualize the food! I wanna see what i'm going to eat, I don't want to be surprised! :lmao:

Well Welcome to the DIS! You're gonna be hooked on these boards in NO time! For me, it's like checking my email...it comes automatically to check the Dis on a daily basis, pretty much!

Don't worry if you can't get Le Cellier...once you go for your first time, you'll be SURE to come back, and then you can make your ADR's for that trip, definitely! There are seriously sooo many great choices to eat at, you won't be disappointed! You're gonna have a great time!

Again, Thank-you very much!! :lovestruc

Evertime I read a report about Chef Mickey's, it always seemed that the environment was very hectic, chaotic, and out of control. Probably wasn't but that's what I interpreted. The Beach Club Resort atmosphere just seemed so laid back, and that's the kind of character interaction we wanted...it was so nice! Cape May was not busy at all, and we got ample time with each character! They even came around again a second time! So I would definitely recommend Cape May! But I really do want to try to Chef Mickeys one day...and the waffles are scrumptious!
