They could serve Pot Roast, Fried Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Fried Steak, BBQ Beans, Tuna Casserole, Macaroni & Cheese...the place would be PACKED! I'd even eat there :thumbsup2

Ooh that sounds yummy!! I would eat there too if the menu looked like that!! I'm wonderin if they would even serve veggies at this American Restaurant! :lmao: Since there seems to be such a deficiency here!

Hmm, what I REALLY care about though is what kind of desserts will be served here! :lmao: Red velvet cake, cobblers...twinkies, fried dough??

The veggies would either all be fried or over cooked in bacon.

They would have to serve Deep Fried Candy Bars! And if there wasn't already a stand outside Funnel Cakes!

BAhahaha! :rotfl2: Didn't even consider them being fried! :lmao:

Omgosh, deep fried candy bars!! Maybe you should apply for a creative design position for this MAGNIFICENT sounding Table Service Restaurant! You have some awesome ideas! :thumbsup2

...just make sure you name one of the items after me! :lmao:

From a lot of what I read, many visitors to WDW are unadventurous eaters, writer and readers of this thread excluded of course. :rolleyes1 Le Cellier serves very standard fare, and is pretty consistent in quality. It's not as pricey as Yachtsman and more centrally located than Shula's. If you consider the tastes of the average unadventurous American eater and compare it to all the other TS restaurants in Epcot, you'll find that it is the least exotic of eateries and that probably more than anything is what makes the place so popular!

I am the adventurous one in the family, DH is a meat and potatoe type of guy, and does not want sauces etc on his food, he won't touch anything white, and is not big on veggies( no surprise there) but in all our trips to Disney while we have tried a lot of places in the World to eat, we just somehow never got around to trying Le Cellier, I hope it is worth all the trouble with the ressie.

DH would be first in line for those veggies cooked in bacon :

You know, everyone is really up and down about this place...I, personally, really enjoyed my meal there, but I also enjoyed just the overall experience of it...knowing i'm at Disneyworld with my best friend, eating in a cavern, drinking a beer, talking with our Canadian waiter, laughing with my guy, etc..

Even if it's not what you expected it to be, you can now say you went there! Another restaurant to scratch off your list of "must-trys"!

And if you're still worried about how your food will taste, make a quick stop off at the Rose and Crown pub before your meal and have a few drinks! Drinks always make ANY food taste better! :lmao:

Oh how right you are , I remember one year we went to the Aloha Dinner Show(actually my family won't let me forget)DH and two DS did not like most of the offerings for dinner, well I made the best of it and the mi ties kept flowing since the drinks were free and I was going to have a good time, aside all the complaints from said family, well by time the show was over I was feeling no pain and insisted we all go to Pleasure Island I don't recal much but do remember dancing as some guy played his tamborine :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Now THAT is what you call a vacation!!! :lmao: That's exactly the type of attitude I try to take into everything I do! Make the best out of your situation, because you're there, so make it good! :thumbsup2 Right on sista! :hippie:

And are you serious about the bottomless Mai Tais??? HOW AWESOME!!!

LOL!! Love that you went to PI afterwards to celebrate with a tamborine-playing gentlemen!! :lmao:

Le Cellier is the MOST popular restaurant in ALL of Orlando. Pretty much you need to be staying at a WDW resort and you need to make your reservations online at 6AM Eastern time online to get in there. It helps if you are staying multiple days to use the +10 reservation bonus because this is THE most popular reservation on property.

Personally I prefer the Yachtman for a steak and now that I have the recipe for the Cheese Soup we have it at home for dinner every few months/weeks depends on how cold it is, So Cal doesn't need hot soups much throughout the year. Le Celleir, it's a tough one, we could only get in for lunch at 11:50 on only one day during our entire week there when I called at the first day to make ressies (was 90 days back then) perhaps now that it has been extended to 180 day it might be a little easier in that lots of people don't understand or want to plan that far in advance.

Good luck on your calling in daily, you never know what will happen!

What bonus are you speaking of?

When you stay on property you can book 180 days out from your 1st day of your reservation plus 10 days, the 10 days beyond your first day is the bonus that I speak of. If you stay off property, you have to call every day 180 days before your reservation to make daily reservations.

There's a restaurant in Brooklyn, NY called The Chip Shop, where they deep-fry everything! They do twinkies, candy bars, fish & chips of course, and pizza (they batter it first), all deep-fried! If you bring them just about any kind of food they will fry it for you! Crazy! Never been there, but dying to go someday! I think the day I finally make it there I will have to run a marathon first to make up for it!!!! :lmao: Also, in Little Italy in Manhattan, every September they have the San Gennaro feast (a street festival with awesome food stands). I have actually taken students on class trips to the feast!!! :lmao: They have zeppoles (fried dough), and battered fried oreos! The oreos are amazing!!!

Thanks for your reply Leshaface! I'll look forward to your price comparisons. Although honestly, I know it's not 100% rational but I would probably want to do the DxDP even if it wasn't a good deal -- I love appetizers!

In the meantime, I'm going to go back and read over all your reviews again! I enjoyed them very much. They were more helpful than any of my guidebooks in helping me select meals for our early Dec. trip. We're so excited; my DH has never been, and of course kids DD7 and DS4 have never been either. And I haven't been since I was 10! Can't wait.

You can look at it as a bonus or a curse depending on when you need to make your reservations for. I too am staying on property and called first thing 6:00am Wednesday morning day 180, there was little availablity for my first night in MK for Liberty Tree Tavern (during the MVMCP), then my Epcot days of Tues and Weds (days 181 and 182) only one dinner ressie for Le Cellier(it is the last week of Food & Wine Festival, so we want to do Epcot before the weekend) etc so maybe if you are staying 10 days or more and do not wish to dine at the more popular places until the end of your vacation the 180+10 is a bonus.......if you want to dine early in your vacation it can be a curse.

Txmama, it's COMPLETELY rational! :rotfl2: It's not even 100%, more like 150%! ;)

Wow I'm so glad my reviews helped you! That's what I'm here for...to be used and abused about my knowledge of food...:lmao:

Your family is going to have an amazing trip! And what a great time to be going there during the holidays!!!

Yes, it has been on the Travel Channel! I think it's on that show "Deep Fried Paradise".
