UGH - DS has Strep!

Ugh, my 12 yr old DS has strep! He hasn't been feeling well since Sunday, after "the big hockey weekend". It started out with what I thought was his asthma, then the sore throat, fever. Then he was sooooo tired. Now that is definitely unlike my son so I knew something was wrong. Sure enough, the strep test came back positive.

He started the antibiotics today and will end up missing school again tomorrow (4 days total). Luckily his school is closed this Friday so that will give him an extra day too!

Hope I don't get it, but my butt was dragging today!

Strep is no fun. Make sure he gets his rest and he'll be back to hockey, school and life in no time.

Thanks for all the hugs & well wishes. He definitely is resting. I've never seen him go without his Playstation this long! (always looking at the bright side)

I feel for you. My DD had strep two weeks ago, this weekend went to the walk in for some wheezing cough, went to the follow up at the docs today and she has strep again. Wasn't expecting that as she usually runs a high temp.

My 10 yo dd and 7 yo ds just finished their round of antibiotics for strep this weekend.

Our son had strep a month ago. He is sick again and I just know it is strep AGAIN! All the same symptoms and his throat looks mottled (cobblestoned). He has just been off the medicine for 2 weeks. Our doctor said this is a big time of year for strep. Good luck with your son.

I hope that your DS is feeling better today. You can really judge how bad they feel on how they act and what they want to do and not want to do, can't you?

I feel your pain. DD (5) was just diagnosed with her third case since Jan 13!! She has never had it before. UGH!!!!!

DD's ped said the threads of strep with one after another either happens in preschool or kindergarten. So I'm hoping we won't have a repeat next year.

Oh My! I don't even want to think of another round of strep. Once a year is enough for this family. Now Grammy has it too (she's been watching him while I'm stuck at work) and the doctor put me on antibiotics too. DS is feeling much better today and is looking forward to the weekend!
