Really ?? $120.00 ? What The Heck :confused3 my grandkid is a girly girl who is 3 yrs old . She begged me for boots I get there and was shocked ! I asked the lady if she knew where they got the name UGG and she said she didnt know . I told her because when Grandparents bought those tiny little shoes we say " UGG " she thought it was funny :rotfl2:

Is this common for those boots ? I bought my DD ( her momma ) a pair but I just handed her my card and let her go to pick them . Nordstrom is making money hand over fist with this deal on boots

I dont think I am cheap but I also dont think it is right to spend 120 bucks on shoes that will look yuck in a month or two

Seriously - I would worry about your granddaughter outgrowing them before the would start looking nasty.

No way would I EVER pay $120 for a pair of shoes for a 3 year old. Actually, I wouldn't even pay that for shoes for myself, but that's another story. DEFINITELY not a 3 year old. Especially since she'll grow out of them in like a month. If she really wants boots that badly go to Target and get some knockoffs!

My DD is on her third pair, two bought this year, but she is 13 and her feet are just about grown. She also takes good care of them. No way would I have spent the money on them when she was that young.

I wouldn't do that and I feel like I am an "expensive" shoe nut. I quote that because to me, $120 on shoes isn't expensive, it's when it's in the $300+ range is where it gets expensive. You should hear the things I say when I read people thinking $30 is expensive for shoes. ;)

However, I buy them for me and my feet aren't growing much, like a 3 year old's would. For this, I would recommend getting one of the less expensive, Ugg-like brands. You can get a good pair for $40 in brands like Bear Paw, or any other store's version of the boots. If she really cares at 3 if they're off-brand or not, I think that's a whole different issue.

I am on my... 6th and 7th pairs of Uggs? I have the tall boots and the Dakota moccasins. I wear them out, but I've been wearing them for about 8 years now, they last me about 2 years per pair. I just think she'd outgrow them before she'd wear them out.

I was so glad to see this thread because my sister in law wrote me a message last week saying that she and BIL would like to get my daughter a pair of these very "special" in other words- expensive boots for Christmas. Even though my DD(5) could get a pair that is paid for by someone else I still feel it is excessive and unnecessary. The knock offs are fine but my SIL would have none of that, she is very into labels etc. I am glad to see that others feel the same way.

I think for a 3 year old the knock offs would be more than plenty considering she will outgrow them rather quickly. Good luck!

My 15yodd is getting some for Christmas. She has been begging for a few yrs.

As far as getting UGG boots for small kids, I do think the knock offs are a better way to go. Check out BearPaw, it is the UGG alternative.:thumbsup2

OK, here it is. Not "cheap" that is for sure but not 120.00 either. It is half of the cost.

Those are cute... and a step above the knock offs my DD9 has had in the past. She has LOVED the knock offs and this is the first year she is asking for the real deal. I am so not a fashionista and really pretty anti-label. These will be a good in between.. LOL Thanks for the link!!

I have uggs, my DD7 decided this year she wanted some. her friend has some that she loves, found out she got the knockoffs at target last year (and are still going strong this year). DD7 insisted those were the ones she wanted. $20 and done! they look very similar, especially thru the eyes of a child (at least one who doesn't care if it actually says ugg on the back)

When you go shopping make sure you find out who sells what.

I ran into a weird thing when we were in Chicago over Thanksgiving.

We went to the Macy's on State street, think 7 story Macy's and they DO NOT sell UGGS ONLY Bearpaw.

Not sure why, but there it is. There is some weird thing going on there I guess.

My oldest has a couple pairs of UGGS - because her feet stopped growing. My other girls know they will continue to get knock offs until they stop growing. Honestly, I live in a high COL area, and have never seen a 3 year old with real UGGS! Don't blame Nordstroms, blame your lack of research.

I have several pairs of Uggs and my daughters, 8 and 11, each have two pairs this season (that is pretty much all they wear). However, I would NEVER buy a pair of Uggs for a 3 year old. I can't imagine her even knowing to ask for them. I would think that knock-offs would suit her just fine.

DDs 11 & 12 are getting Uggs (classic short) for Christmas this year. I bought them a little big (Youth 6 = Women's 8) and hope their feet are almost done growing. The youth sizes are cheaper and I got them on sale, so I only paid $88 each.

BearPaws are great. No way on earth would I spend $120 on boots for a three year old. That's just flushing money away. I also try to discourage brand name worship as much as possible. I wouldn't spend that on boots for me, although we could afford it. And if your kid takes adult sizes they are even more.

My 14yo and my 11yo have BearPaws. While most of their friends do have UGGs, I asked the 14yo if she wanted a pair of UGGs this year for Christmas, with the stipulation that that is would mean she wouldn't get much else in the way of clothing. She said forget it, she's fine with the BearPaws. Her feet have stopped growing, and she's had her current BearPaws for a couple of years of very heavy use.

Well, I guess somebody should be responsible for keeping those Nordstrom employees off the unemployment rolls. Glad it's not me.

I really wanted to get the patchwork Uggs for dd4 but even when Nordstrom had them 40% off, I couldn't justify spending the money. I got a great pair of knock offs for her at Nordstrom Rack for 20 bucks. She doesn't know the difference.

Where was the sale? My 11 yr old daughter has been asking for a pair for Christmas.

It's a little silly when the child is 3 or 4 and doesn't even know the difference. DD13 wouldn't wear knockoffs, so she doesn't get any (from me at least-her sister is a pushover!). Besides, UGGs have no support whatsoever and are not that comfortable IMO.

A 3 year old really does not need the name brand. She will outgrow them in a few months anyways. My DD8 asked for UGGs and when I explained I was not spending that much money on boots that probably would not fit her come spring. We went to Childrens Place and I got their version for $25, DD8 was perfectly happy.
