Myself, my wife, and my 14 yr old daughter will be going to Port Orleans Riverside next month. From MCO, would it be more cost effective to book an Uber to go directly to the resort as opposed to a Mears bus?

Keep in mind time at Disney = Money, with that in mind there are various factors at play. Are you arriving late? Are you arriving during the day and wanting to hit the parks right away, what about returning to the airport? You can do sample bookings on each platform; on the uber/lyft app change your location to that of MCO and then input the address for POR. You will then know the price of each option. Back when Magical Express was a around and you could not worry about your bags it was a good way to go, today... I'd be more inclined to take an Uber and get straight to my hotel.

I have a morning flight so we getting into Orlando around 10am. I miss the ol' Magical Express days when I didn't have to worry about luggage. I just did a price comparison and Uber and Mears comes out at the same rate. Definitely going to go Uber route so I don't have to wait in Mears queue line (something I don't miss during those Magical Express days).

Mears rate: $16.00*3 ppl = $48.00 and I believe their service standard is around 2 hours?

The Uber/Lyft we took (used a different one each way from the airport because I had an Uber credit to use up, but prefer Lyft) was $49, and we arrived at the hotel within 30 mins. Didn't have to wait for the ride either, they must have a spot close by where they wait for requests, and just zoom up to the arrivals door.

We had 3 rolling bags and 2 carry-ons, and each time they had no problem arranging the luggage - even in a Prius. Worst case scenario, everyone holds a bag on their lap, if you have more luggage than we did.

I don't mind luggage on the lap for 30 minutes in a straight shot to the resort....it definitely beats standing around waiting on a queue line.

Also check Lyft which is Uber's competitor, I personally prefer Lyft over Uber.. Note that you will not really know the true pricing until you arrive as Uber/Lyft pricing fluctuates based on various factors demand/seasonality/traffic/etc.. Another option is to take a traditional taxi cab, there is a cab line at both arrival curbs, you simply get in line and they will get you on the next available cab, in some cases where Uber/Lyft pricing has been to high I have taken a cab instead and found the service to be just as reliable, fast, and in many cases cheaper than Uber/Lyft.. I also like that cab drivers are better versed on local roads/geography whereas Uber/Lyft drivers simply rely on GPS to get everywhere..
