Has anybody used Uber from SNA to one of the Harbour Blvd. hotels? How'd it go?

I'm staying at the Desert Inn. Where do they pick you up, and what's the average cost? At first glance, their basic service looks to be a lot better than a taxi-- $16-20, as opposed to a flat rate of $40 and probably more on the way back. I'm pretty tired of a shared van service, too, even though it's inexpensive.

Thanks!

Have used it on two recent trips, and will only use Uber from now on. It was my husband, daughter (4) and myself. Requested a car, and it came within 10 minutes outside of baggage claim (driver called to confirm location). We installed the carseat, driver loaded luggage, and off we went. Our max cost has been $25, and usually takes 15-17 minutes to and from Best Western/Tropicana area of Harbor. Drivers have never made us feel unsafe, and cars were always way cleaner than my own car! :)

We will only use Lyft/Uber now! I prefer Lyft as it's generally cheaper, but both have never been more that $25 from SNA to Disneyland. It takes less than 5 mins for the driver to arrive, they've all been great in our experience, and the drive is SO much faster than a vanshare! Highly recommend!

Also, if you know any friends or family that use Lyft or Uber, have them send you their referral code - you get ride credit(s) and they do too!

Maybe I will try Lyft this time, just to access the discount! I have noticed that our Uber drivers tend to also be Lyft drivers. :)

Awesome experience with Uber from Harbor Blvd. to SNA. My driver arrived in under a minute (no joke) and the entire fare was $16.

Good to see you, as it were, again. Iooked for a trip report from your last visit, but unless I somehow missed it, don't think there is one. :(
Anyway, nice to see you are planning to revisit DLR. :)
I haven't used Uber Lyft as of yet, but Karmel is a really good option. With promo it is $15.00 per adult. I have gone with them many times, and normally was the only person in the van.
Supershuttle is good too. And with promo is only $11.00 per adult. My last visit, I went with them r/t . It was very time efficient. It was a full van going to Anaheim, and I was the second stop. Returning, I was before the last pickup. Which was very close by on South Harbor. Very good all the way around.
I enjoyed your last pre trip report, and hope you do one for your next trip. :)

Hi, Gisele, nice to see you too! :) I ended up not finishing the trip report after my solo trip, nearly a year ago last March-- life got in the way, you know how it is. It was a fun trip, and I did a ton of stuff. But I found that, as much as I enjoyed the freedom of doing things at my own pace and with my own wants, I really missed having somebody to share it with! Also I pushed myself too hard, and got really bad blisters in spite of my excellent footwear! :sad2:

Just this past weekend hubby and I were talking about Disneyland with our youngest, who's soon to be 14. As usual, just talking about it made me go look up airfare, hotels, etc. I casually brought up to DH that the airfare is really cheap around my birthday in September, and there's good hotels to be had for good prices. He made encouraging noises, so I took the initiative and booked a hotel. I think we may go ahead and go for 5 days, just he and I. Woo hoo!

That sounds great. Was that with a promo? Tia
No promo. That was the regular rate. It may be a few more dollars if they pick you up at the airport, but still way cheaper than a regular taxi and with the luxury of having the car to yourself to boot. I hate the shuttles!

Can Uber handle a family of 5? I assume it would cost more?

You would request an UberXL which is a larger vehicle...but 5 people and luggage can be really tight. I am a huger Uber fan but in your case would suggest a taxi van which are on standby all the time.

Your other option would be UberSUV which would be a Tahoe or Suburban but that is more of a car service level and will be closer to $50-60

Uber xl
We got 5 people, 3 small roller bags, one large one and a big stroller that we didn't break down, but could have, in the Yukon he brought. $36 at 7:30 pm. I'm sold! This will now be our go to mode of transport.

Thank you! I might try Uber XL. We're only staying overnight and no one is younger than 13 so we won't have much luggage etc. On the other hand, a taxi isn't much more and I have a flat rate taxi voucher for $35 for the trip back.

But there's No extra tip on uber.
Really? The tip is included in the price they tell you? That's cool!

How do you find out the price? Do they tell you when you call? And when do you do that...when you land or before you get there?

I usually tip my Uber driver even though it's not technically required. They don't make much. When they are super nice, super punctual and helpful, I tip 20% on the fare. Does anybody else do this?
yes, taxi drivers too

Tip at your discretion to Uber. They've recently cut their rates to drivers so the drivers aren't making much anymore. If it's a pleasant, quick experience, throw a few extra dollars their way.

I didn't know that about uber drivers. It specifically says none required on their website so I didn't think about it past that.

Ok soooo I've never actually used Uber. Do after you land at SNA do you call them or use the ap or???
