I visited Typhoon Lagoon for the first time on Sunday and had a great day. It was so much fun - except for Humunga Kowabunga. :crazy2:

I would caution people to think twice before riding this slide! It is a 5 story body slide at a straight 45ish degree angle. Unless you really enjoy wedgies, DO NOT RIDE THIS SLIDE! Both my friend and I, two females, had wedgies on our back AND front sides. In addition to the worry of flashing people at the bottom, we were in pain the rest of the day 'down there'. :scared: Unless you enjoy powerful enemas, steer clear of Humunga Kowabunga!

Every other slide and attraction was fun, and not painful. Being at the water park really made the heat much more tolerable.

I think water shoes are necessary. My feet really hurt on the rough and hot pavement, so I ended up wearing my flip flops and just holding them on the slides.

I did have a bit of an "issue" when I rode...so I don't ride it anymore. Kind of embarrassing in front of my then 10 YO DS who landed just before I did.

Always cross your legs at the ankles very tightly....and clench other areas as hard as you can. It doesn't completely prevent the problem but it does reduce it quite a bit.

I rode it once in high school many years ago. Terribly painful, and I won't ever do it again!

I've heard May Day Falls can get a bit crazy too? :fish:

One of my favorite stories of all times. I actually saved it to my computer years ago. Bravest lady ever to tell the story.

Did Humunga once. Terrified of heights so to make myself go over a cliff was awful. The discomfort at the bottom was like salt in the wound. Never did it or comparable slides ever again.

I agree!!!! The last time I rode it I had a wedgie from my belly button to the small of my back! OUCH!

This. I don't find it all that much of a big deal. I'm a guy but my wife doesn't complain terribly about it...she just doesn't like heights, so once is enough for her.

OP, don't try Summit Plummet at BB. It's even more intense!

Our family love the straight slides at TT and BB.

Folks give it a try before letting anyone talk you out of it.

I rode it last month. Didn't have any major issues, but I many people complaining about their backs, I guess from the joints from where each section fits together. And a few people w/ wedgies.

I have never been to Disney's water parks, but I rode the 'Kamikaze' in Gulf Shores at Waterville USA exactly ONCE because it felt like an enema at the bottom!

Hint though - swimsuits now come in all types. Get shorts bottoms that have bans around the thighs - this helps them stay put. Or wear a one piece with fitted board shorts over it.
