I visited Typhoon Lagoon for the first time on Sunday and had a great day. It was so much fun - except for Humunga Kowabunga.
I would caution people to think twice before riding this slide! It is a 5 story body slide at a straight 45ish degree angle. Unless you really enjoy wedgies, DO NOT RIDE THIS SLIDE! Both my friend and I, two females, had wedgies on our back AND front sides. In addition to the worry of flashing people at the bottom, we were in pain the rest of the day 'down there'.
Unless you enjoy powerful enemas, steer clear of Humunga Kowabunga!
Every other slide and attraction was fun, and not painful. Being at the water park really made the heat much more tolerable.
I think water shoes are necessary. My feet really hurt on the rough and hot pavement, so I ended up wearing my flip flops and just holding them on the slides.
