Disclaimer: I am a male.

I have gotten wedgies from this ride, but I rode it many times in a row without any real issue or discomfort. I do of course tend to keep my ankles crossed and feet tightly together.

I also, for the general populaces benefit, wear swim trunks.

I visited Typhoon Lagoon for the first time on Sunday and had a great day. It was so much fun - except for Humunga Kowabunga. :crazy2:

I would caution people to think twice before riding this slide! It is a 5 story body slide at a straight 45ish degree angle. Unless you really enjoy wedgies, DO NOT RIDE THIS SLIDE! Both my friend and I, two females, had wedgies on our back AND front sides. In addition to the worry of flashing people at the bottom, we were in pain the rest of the day 'down there'. :scared: Unless you enjoy powerful enemas, steer clear of Humunga Kowabunga!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I never have and I never will!!!

So funny to read this because DH ripped his swim trunks on this slide, right up the keister! It was December and finding a new bathing suit for him was no easy task, we ended up finding one at a cheap souvenir store near Walmart on 192.

One of my favorite stories of all times. I actually saved it to my computer years ago. Bravest lady ever to tell the story.

OMG that lady's story about going down that slide was the funniest thing I ever read in my life. Tears were rolling down my face. I will never forget it. I am laughing just remembering it

Every other slide and attraction was fun, and not painful. Being at the water park really made the heat much more tolerable.

I think water shoes are necessary. My feet really hurt on the rough and hot pavement, so I ended up wearing my flip flops and just holding them on the slides.

I got an involuntary enema on this ride. Not kidding, unfortunately :worried:. It left me in pain for a while. I had an easier time on Summit Plummet, perhaps because I'd already ridden HK and was diligent about keeping everything...locked up. Will never ride HK again, though.

Given your dissatisfaction with HK, I might also suggest avoiding Summit Plummet at BB. That redefines wedgie.

This reminds me of once when I was 12 at a waterpark in Georgia called Rapids. The slide was so rough it made my swimsuit come off! So I was nude in the water reaching around for my swimsuit. A girl exited the slide next to me but thankfully didn't realize I was naked or what I was doing. I finally found it after about a minute thankfully

I also think the answer to this has a lot to do with both how you ride it (arms/legs crossed, feet up/down, etc...), as well as other factors. So this is something where everyone's results may be slightly different.

:lmao: :rotfl2: So funny. Honestly i've always been too chicken to go on this one. Or any slide like it! Not a fan of crazy slides. I'll stick to the wave pool thanks. :)

Did Humunga once. Terrified of heights so to make myself go over a cliff was awful. The discomfort at the bottom was like salt in the wound. Never did it or comparable slides ever again.
Same here. My fave disboards story of all time. Funniest thing I ever read. That woman is a legend! :lmao:

:rotfl: :lmao: Your poor husband!

When I rode a slide like that back in the 80's, they warned me at the top to cross my ankles because of this issue.
