Typhoon Lagoon Question

So, this past weekend I went to my local water park and noticed just how bad the concrete there ripped up the bottom of my feet. To anyone who has been to Typhoon Lagoon, how is the ground? Is it really rough concrete or is it on the smooth side?

It's fairly smooth concrete, not all gritty rough (like the TL wave pool)
but if you are not regularly outside "barefoot-ing"... I'm sure you will wish for additional cushioning.

All of the concrete is good except for the bottom of the typhoon lagoon wave pool. That has quite the gritty bottom. If you tumble over with the big waves and hit the bottom you will be scraped

The thing about the concrete at Typhoon Lagoon isn't the texture, but the heat. It is very, very hot. If you are not used to walking on hot cement, I'd recommend using some kind of water shoe.

I'm not a barefoot person. I wear water shoes due to my feet not used to barefoot, the sidewalks are hot and the bottom of pool are rough.

I do not do the two big drop slides but I do everything else and have never had to remove my shoes and hold them.

Good advise from others. I just got up from my wheelchair for my wife to transfer me and I had no shoes on and I screamed! It was like standing on hot coals!

I absolutely hate water shoes, so I go barefoot (even at home I'm not a shoe guy). Like others said, the wave pool bottom is rough, but it's only an issue if you scrape along it. The rest of it is smooth, though it can get hot. I have no real problems walking around barefoot in the middle of summer. Some places where it gets hot, you kind of have to hustle through, or find a sprayer, but otherwise it's OK. The entrance to Shark Reef is rocky, but the water is so cold I doubt you'll even be able to feel your feet. :cold:
