Our Delta flight was delayed more than 3 hours leaving. We are now not going to land until 750, so any hope of getting to the Typhoon Lagoon Glow night event that I paid tickets for tonight is pretty much gone. I know tickets are normally non refundable and non transferable, but is there any option here? Has anybody ever had experience with Disney working with somebody in this situation?

You could ask but the answer may be no. There is always a known risk when guests choose to book things on arrival day.

Hope it works out for you. Please keep us posted.

I think you have a good chance of at leaat getting it switched to a different date. I'd talk with concierge as soon as you get to your hotel.

Any chance you can take an earlier flight? With a 3 hour schedule shift, I think you should be able to tell Delta, "No, that later flight doesn't work with our plans" and pick an earlier flight- at no additional cost. I've done this several times on a couple of different airlines and usually end up with the flight I would have LOVED to book originally but the cost was more than the budget allowed.

OP, I hope you’re off to a great start despite this mess. Where you able to get any help? Don’t know if these events sell out but if it’s this late and and isn’t sold out yet, then it’s no skin off their noses to offer a switch.

Generally a good suggestion, but the OP is flying today but has a flight delay (based on the face that the OP refers to having event tickets for tonight), so, unfortunately, doesn't help in this instance.

OP - as others have said, I'd just ask (worst they can do is say no, which leaves you no worse off than you are if you don't ask).

Looks like they were actually supposed to fly yesterday.

Yes, we have had luck with a similar situation where we had tickets to a ticketed event and called and they refunded us. It may be at the discretion of the CM as I know others have not had luck. So always worth trying.

Doomed by time zones (the post was today/Sunday, for me as I am in Europe and I didn't think about the time it would have been in the US).

Point still stands that it was a travel day issue, rather than a flight time change.

I’m not sure what the difference is. Either Disney will try to accommodate based on a currently chaotic air industry or they won’t.

Did you read the post that I had quoted with my comment? The PP had suggested that the OP call the airline and tell them that the new flight time didn't work for them and switch to an earlier flight. This is great advice if the airline makes a flight change in advance, but doesn't help this situation as the OP cannot go back in time.

Ok I see that now. Sorry!

I haven't had a chance to talk to the concierge yet because we went right to the park today and didn't get in until midnight last night. Our flight did not finally take off until close to 9 o'clock, It was supposed to take off at 3. It was a Series of Unfortunate Events to the extreme. 1st the flight attendant went missing and they had to find a new 1 after 4 hours. Then by the time they got us on the plane they realized the plane was broken and had to get us off the plane. Then by the time they got us on a new plane the bridge was broken and they couldn't pull it back. We are enjoying Epcot today. and plan to talk to the concierge when we finally get back to the hotel tonight.

If you have a little down time at Epcot, you could go talk to the Guest Relations CMs in their office across from Spaceship Earth. They can probably help as well as if not better than the concierge.
