Do you bring your beach towel from home? rent? take 1 from the resort? or dont use a towel when at the waterparks?

Our family of five took two beach towels to the water parks this past summer. We didn't need them to keep warm, just to dry our hands and face off.

We just rented two from TL for our family of four. For two dollars, we could get fresh, clean towels and just dump them in the dropoff dumpster on the way out. No wet, sandy towels to take to the car, keep in the room, haul back home, or wash. Not bad for 2 bucks.

We only needed two because, like the previous post, we just wiped faces with it....the sun took care of drying the rest of us :sunny:

do people come by and see a towel sitting on an empty chair and "borrow" them?
what do you do with them when youre on the rides?

Oddly enough, I have found people to be very respectful of other people's towels and spots/chairs at TL. I do recommend, though, that you buy one of those necklace boxes (they seal out water) to store your $, tickets, etc. They work perfectly (some resorts have them; CBR had them with their logo on them for $6).

Also, Fuji's waterproof camera took great pictures even after dangling underwater in the river for two hours while I floated.

I know exactly the waterproof box you are referring to - I use one all the time. I wouldnt go to a pool/waterpark without it! Definate peace of mind. We're actually stocked up on them - have about 5 here

Where do you find the waterproof boxes? What all can you put in them? Thanks

The Caribbean Beach Resort's gift shops have them, so other resorts may have them, too. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach both sell them at their shops, but it would cost you time to go find them once you are there. I don't know if Walmart or Target have them.

They are about the size of....um, let me think....5" tall X 4" wide. Mine held all four of our tickets, a driver's license, a credit card, and some cash. We put on sunscreen before we left, so we didn't need that.

Hope this helps!

We always drive to the water parks, and we always bring towels from the resort. We don't bring anything important into TL. We wear our bathing suits with a cover up over and water shoes. We bring just enough money for lunch and leave everything else in the room safe at the resort.

We bring our own towels and leave them in a rented locker. Last time the heavens opoened just as we were walking to the parking lot, so we really needed them to dry off and keep warm in the car, couldnt do that with rented towels.

We bring our beach towels but also rent lockers. We never use the towels while going around the water park but when are ready to leave, we have our own towel to dry off with.

I just got this "waterproof" fishermans pouch from KMArt $2.95. It is a clear plastic pouch about 10 inches by 5 inches. This package shows a small wallet, keys and cell phone in it. The top rolls down and then it velcros. It also has a longish string attached that would make it fit as a necklace.I think it would be good for the water parks but have not had the chance to use it yet. Anyone out there use it? I think for me it would be better than the box because I can keep my cell with me. I think I will test it with some tissue paper and a bowl of water. Wish me luck.Thanks.

DH has one of those roll-top pouches that came with his swimsuit. They are generally good, but if you are not very very careful to close the top completely and then roll down the seal properly, you can still get water inside. I would double-bag any electronic devices inside a ziploc and then put it in the pouch, just to be extra-cautious. Also, check the closure any time you get off a slide and periodically while in the wave pool.

As for towels, we bring our own, but we also visit the beach when we go to Florida. If you buy new towels at waterparks (popular souvenir) you should bring along a waterproof pen to mark your name on the hem as soon as you buy them. I have heard stories about brand-new character towels walking away from waterpark chairs.
