We leave Monday and I was getting our "snack stash" together and wondering what I am going to put it in. I don't want everything to get smashed by baggage handlers. What kind of suitcases have others used to pack their snacks and drink boxes, etc. in? We will be flying so I'm worried about the things when they are out of out sight. Also, has anyone ever had trouble with juice boxes breaking or bottles of water breaking during a flight? Thanks for any suggestions!

Julie:) :)

We prefer to buy snacks and drinks once we are down there, at either SuperWal-Mart, Walgreens, or Publix. (It typically doesn't cost any more to buy these items in Orlando...unless you go to Goodings!) In the past we've packed some special little suprises for our DD in a soft sided insulated cooler. Then we unpack that when we get to our room, go shopping for snacks and drinks, and fill the cooler with ice each day. Then at the end of the trip you have an extra bag to pack all the souvies you've bought!

Just an idea :)

Last year we packed all kinds of different snacks for our WDW trip. Including cereal, crackers, etc. We packed them in a soft sided rolling suitcase and didn't have any problems at all. I've never taken drink boxes, so I can't comment there. I always put a lock on my suitcases, so at least you would know if anyone has been in your things.

When we traveled to Russia I packed a bottled water, oatmeal, a hot pot, and other stuff in a regular suitcase and everything made it in one piece. I did put items in their own zip lock bag just in case. I just made sure that I had soft items around the items.

I always pack my snacks and juice boxes in a soft sided suitcase. We bring beach towels, so I pack them on the sides. I put the juice boxes in zip lock bags just in case. Last year we didn't bring many snacks, we went to Goodings and bought water and snacks (it was much easier and not much more expensive than what we paid at home!).

We actually travel with a small, hard plastic ice chest. DH puts two luggage straps around it. The dollar value of what's inside doesn't require a lock. We are always asked if it has dry ice in it, of course, it does not. I also have a large, hard-sided suitcase that I've put wine, etc. in. Ice chest or suitcase, I usually put anything I don't want to clean up after in a plastic bag. Nothing has ever leaked, even the Texas beer we took to the Brother-in-law when he was living out of state.
