Two Weeks until Two Weeks! - Update 3/22 - NEW TR LINK!

I'm loving your plans...and a little creeped out at how similar they are to mine  I don't have kids, but I work with them and just bought a Mr. Potato Head ($4 at Kohls!) so I'm super excited to get lots and lots of accessories for him on our next trip! I have the Mickey measuring cups and really like them...especially the pour spout thingy they have. Helps when measuring liquids.

Back to your KSC day - I bet Henry will love it even more now that he is older than your last visit. I would love to take my niece and nephew there someday, but they keep getting older and busier. I may need to wait and take my own kids, so I'm not holding my breath.

I think my favorite DD store is a tie between Tren-D and Mickey's Pantry. Although I rarely buy things from either store...they are my favorite to walk around. I also love browsing Basin, but again, never buy anything since I'm not too into bubble baths. Mostly I do any purchasing at WoD even though, like you, it completely stresses me out!

I always liked to buy ornaments for the boys when we went on vaca. They each have a box so if they want to do trees when they move out, they will be set.

I'm a little late to the party! Sounds like you are going to have an awesome trip! Henry is soo cute (or should I say handsome?)!! Is he really 40 inches tall already? My youngest sister is 6 and she is only 41 inches! Great PTR!

Ah, DTD, how I love thee. Goofy's Candy Co. is a MUST DO for us.

Art of Disney store is one of my favorite parts of a Disney trip, though I can't figure out why. :confused3 Once I get in there I'm usually just depressed that I don't have enough money for fine art. If I had a few thousand just laying around, my whole house would be covered in those beautiful art pieces. I always even plan to set aside about $200 for just one REALLY nice piece and can never bring myself to spend that kind of money.

Oh so THAT'S what the radiator springs area was at the Disney Store! I saw the big gun things hanging from the ceiling and started poking them, I was so confused! The CM came up to me, obviously sensing my confusion, and said, "Welcome to Radiator Springs!" I probably looked like an idiot. "Huuhh?" :rotfl: Oh well, guess I'll know for the next time!

Oooh DTD plans look mega fun! I find my favourite thing is the 10 dollar store but im a cheapie person haha! Have you guys got the option on your annual passes to go to Disney Quest? That was my fiances favourite thing (he's a video game junkiei haha) it seems Henry may be getting to the age he may appreciate the flying carpet experience of Aladdin, human pinball and all the games!

I have a hankering for some disney kitchen stuff! I wanna get the Lady and the Tramp salt shakers!

We are doing the same thing as tiggerbaby. I plan to give the boys their ornaments when they are all grown up and settled for their tree.

All of your plans sound great. Never been to Mickey's Panty but I want to check it out now.

I am the one that told you about the sandbox thing at Trex. Henry will LOVE it! My boys were in heaven. Can't wait to to then to dig in the Boneyard which I learned about through you.

Never been to Mickey's Panty but I want to check it out now.

:lmao::rotfl2::laughing:

hahahaha....

Your plans sound great to me. I live in FL and have never been to KSC. I should check it out. I'll wait for your TR to read all about it! Looks like a cool place though. I can't wait to shop at DD. Gosh, it's been almost 5 years since I was last at Disney. I just can't wait to go.

After the last week I've had, I am just too far behind to comment on everything or I'd not be able to check in all my threads. I continue to read your plans and they sound great. I do love Mickey's Pantry and just ask Mark...the Christmas store at Downtown Disney--my FAVORITE store. ;)

Ohhh, I'd LOVE to see the KSC! For some reason, whenever I think of Florida, only Disney comes to mind!;) We live close to an air and space museum which we adore visiting. It's so cool!

OK, how HOW HOW did I miss gun gate and ghetto gas?!?! Girl, I was dying while reading that! DH kept asking what was soooo funny. First off, when I saw the 'ghetto gas' references banter, I thought maybe it had something to do with eating bad tacos from a roadside stand or something:eek:? Then I read the actual report of it and oh my Brook, I felt your pain! When you NEED a bathroom and changing table, it doesn't matter if it's ghetto or not. But it's much more helpful if it has an actual changing table! We stopped at the worst, most dirty bathroom in the world a couple of summers ago when DD7 was little. She had to go immediately and we were in the middle of nowhere. We found a gas station and the bathroom was disgusting. I can still see it in my mind, it's forever burned into my memory! The ceiling was stained brown and falling down in the corners. The toilet was stained, the sink was grimy and the best part was there was a straw basket on the toilet with hair brushes and lotion! I pretty sure I gagged the whole time we were in there, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Thank God for wet wipes, right!!!

I'm sure the gas station attendant was thrilled with your diaper changing! I wouldn't have cared either. Heck, I might of even thrown that diaper pad up on the counter! Well, maybe not but I'm sure the thought would've crossed my mind.

I can't believe you're now counting down in DAYS not WEEKS! Lucky dog!:goodvibes

We haven't visited the air and space museum here yet, but we want to go. I should really look into their discount days...hmmm...:scratchin

:rotfl2: about your ghetto gas station! It didn't happen to be somewhere in the middle of nowhere, Florida, was it?!?! Sounds the same - minus the basket. ISH! Seriously. Ya, I'm gonna use a HAIRBRUSH from the back of a PUBLIC TOILET. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I'd rather have my hair so knotted I'd have to shave it off.

I thought AP holders got a discount at WoD? But I will say that 20% off is nice when you are buying high ticket items like purses... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 :lmao::lmao:

So where do you find the crowd calendar? I am curious to see what they are expecting for crowds in the future. popcorn::

Yep! We do. Plus, there is a general 10% off many purchases as well that I believe is still going on. 20% off that purse is a GREAT deal.

The crowd calendar is on TouringPlans.com, it's a paid subscription....I'll PM you. :goodvibes

Ahhhh, shopping at Downtown Disney! How I'd love to be there right now. I agree that you simply must buy the coconut patties. Yum yum!

I, too, have a love/hate relationship with World of Disney. However, now that our kids are bigger and have cellphone, I don't worry so much about getting separated from them in the huge store.

I bought Lacey the red/white/yellow/black Mickey Mouse measuring cups and measuring spoons as well as a black and white Mickey Mouse spoon rest. After I bought them, I realized they also had a set in a light blue with the Chef Mickey on them.

Mickey Mart is another one of my favorite places to shop at DTD. I know that you can get a lot of the stuff at the theme parks but it seems so much more of a value when it's all in one place. ;)

Hopefully, you can fnid some resort specific merchandise. I hate that they seem to have done away with most of it. I think the last time we went the only resort specific item we found was a pin.:sad1:

When I read the update to Joe with my list of desired souvies and mentioned the coconut patties, he stopped me and said "2 boxes."

Oooh, good to know about them having 2 different sets of the measuring items and the spoon rest. I think I'd go for the red/black/white/yellow because I like bold colors. I'll check them both out though! Thanks for the tip!

I hate that they have done away with most of the resort specific merchandise too, though I have seen a FEW things coming back, at least at the DVC resorts. SSR and OKW both have t-shirts and mugs. So maybe it's a glimmer of hope! We'll see.

Brook-- Fresh-a-Peel is inside Campero Pollo. From what I've gathered it just like another counter in the main restaurant. NYC Babycakes is also inside Campero Pollo but I think that one is more separate.

Ahhhhh! That makes sense! I forgot bout that NYC Babycakes too, I read about that one. Thanks for the explanation! We probably won't eat here at all anyway since it's so similar to MANY places around here.

I keep trying to think of something we can get for the kids each trip. Last time my dad bought Aiden a cool Mickey bobble head (he has quite a collection of bobble heads now) but I kind of like the Vinylmation figures, might let them pick one each trip. I am assuming I can find them in DTD somewhere!

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that you can find Vinylmations in D-Street and World of Disney at DTD!!! D-Street is actually an ENTIRE store just of Vinylmations! They sell other things too like magnets, tshirts, pins, etc. but its mainly Vinylmation related! They also have Vinylmation trading boxes at Pin Traders. World of Disney sells Vinylmations & I know they have at least 1 trading box (its located right by the Mr. Potato Head stuff!)

Hope this helps!

We browsed in the Christmas store, and liked looking around, but nothing truly caught our eye. When I'm out on my own and can afford better ornaments than the $5 shatterproof ones from WalMart, I'm going to stock up from there!

I have a great tip for you if you're looking for Disney ornaments at a discounted price!

On our Disney trip in June, I looked at the Christmas store at DTD but I was afraid of buying any of the ornaments that I liked...I thought they would break on the plane ride home. My mom actually purchased a few ornaments on her Disney trip later that year & the CM's packed the ornaments soooo well plus put them in their own box, so I think they would be safe on the plane! I have to remember that for next trip!

Anyway, after we got home, I still really wanted Disney ornaments so I just kept watching the website. I'm pretty sure it was a few weeks before Thanksgiving...all the Disney ornaments on DS.com were $4 a piece! It was mostly the resin ones but those are the ones I wanted so it worked out perfectly!!! I immediately thought of that when you mentioned buying $5 ornaments at Walmart! Why not buy yourself some great Disney ornaments instead! ;)

I got Minnie shopping, Goofy, Pluto, Stitch/Lilo, Belle/Beast, Toy Story, and a bunch of others! I will double check on the date I purchased them & let you know. I do remember it being before Black Friday though because I almost waited to see if I'd get a better deal, but luckily I bought them when I did...because I checked on Black Friday & the after Christmas sale...and they were mostly sold out!!! (The after Christmas sale was actually more expensive than when I purchased them too.)

Yipee, dancing with Henry, Brook, and Joe :banana::banana: So hoping it works out!!

I LOVE the Earl but DH keeps saying he wants to eat at either Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex this time. Meh. There is a Rainforest in Atlantic City (so only like an hour from us) so I kind of don't want to go all the way to DTD and go someplace we can hit at home. But he pretty much lets me set the plan for vaca and this is the only request he has so I have to give in right?!

I hope it works out too! It will be so much fun!!

That's a very cute idea about letting them pick a Vinylmation, I am sure they will enjoy that! D-Street in DTD (I think it's on the West Side) is a store that is practically dedicated to Vinylmations, I've seen pics, it's incredible! I bet many of the other stores have them too since they are so popular.

LOL - I suppose giving it to the one request of your DH would be a good move. That's what I try to do with Joe too since he lets me plan most of it all with just minor input. I'd go for T-Rex in your situation since it's at least slightly different!

Yay for Mickey household items!! I recently found out that I've been cleared for an on-campus townhouse next year, and we have to provide almost everything except furniture, stove, and fridge. I was on the Target website looking at bathroom things and the first row of items that came up were all Mickey things! I think it's a sign. :thumbsup2

Here's a blurb from allears about Mickey's Mart/Pooh Corner, etc. "As of January 15, 2011, the building that houses Pooh Corner, Summer Sands and Mickey's Mart in the Downtown Disney Marketplace is closing for refurbishment. The location will be renovated into two new retail experiences. First to open will be the Disney-operated Mickey's Mart (working title). Set to debut in March 2011, the shop will offer guests unique Disney gifts at great prices. Later in spring 2011, LittleMissMatched will move into the space from its location at Downtown Disney West Side. LittleMissMatched offers fun and colorful socks, accessories, apparel and more." So I take that to mean that Mickey's Mart will be open, although refurbished, and that Pooh Corner is closing permanently, and won't be open in any form while you are there.

As far as Pollo Campero, that is the chicken place and then Fresh-A-Peel and Babycakes NYC are located in the same building.

We browsed in the Christmas store, and liked looking around, but nothing truly caught our eye. When I'm out on my own and can afford better ornaments than the $5 shatterproof ones from WalMart, I'm going to stock up from there!

I love World of Disney! We also really liked Design-a-Tee over in Marketplace, where we (duh) designed our own shirts. It was a lot of fun and not as expensive as I was expecting. I believe it was about $25 for the shirt with 4 lines of text and a photo.

Your townhouse will be adorable all decked out in Mickey!! I've wanted a Mickey teapot for a while, but I keep resisting since the one I have is just fine. Someday it will be mine though! Wouldn't that look so cute sitting on a stove?

Thank you for the info on Pooh/Mickey Mart! :thumbsup2 I remember reading something like that now that I re-read it. I look forward to checking out the new Mickey Mart, I won't really be able to compare it to the old one though since I only ever went in once.

Oooh, we haven't looked into the Design-A-Tee shop! We might have to peek in and check it all out. I bet Joe would like that if they have anything Tron that can be put on a shirt too.

AAAAWWWW!!! that is one thing i love about your trip reports is that i can feel the magic in your family when you are there. my favs are....
mk:splash mountain& pirates of the carabean. i also love the thrills of any ride including splash. i love pirates because i am a huge Jhonny Depp fan!!:lovestruc:worship:
Epcot:test track it never gets old!!!
AK:EE, kilimanjaros safari great for a cool down and amazing picture opportunities.
dHs: TOT, TSM i really enjoy the feel of dHS it makes me think i am in the movies

I haven't ridden Splash since 2006. Can you believe it?! I just despise getting wet, so I'm finally going to ride with the poncho!

I love DHS too, it's such a different feel. The architecture is beautiful and all those palm trees....:cloud9:

I love your shopping plans!
I agree with you about the World of Disney store. I love being able to find everything there, but hate it when it's very crowded.

The Lego Store is so much fun. I hope there's still lots to do in its temporary location.

My favorite DTD store is actually Team Mickey. My brother is obsessed with sports, ESPN, and is a Jets season ticket holder. I'm always able to find souvenirs, Christmas, and birthday gifts for him here. Also, my older nephew has been getting really into basketball, so I suspect he'll find things here.

I saw a few pics of the temporary Lego store and it still looked great, but I didn't see anything interactive, like the racing ramps, in it. I hope they moved those with the store -and I really look forward to the new one!

We went in Team Mickey for about 8 seconds last trip. :rotfl: It's attached to Tren-D which I popped into to check it out and we exited through Team Mickey. Maybe we'll check it out this time, it would be kinda neat to have Mickey themed NY sports team shirt or something....

Two weeks from today...March 7

On March 7 in the PM, we plan to go to DHS for PM EMH and attend the dance party held at Playhouse Disney (Disney Junior)! I'm really excited about taking Henry to this since he loves to dance and loves the characters! I think we'll have a blast! Also at the dance party, should all things work out, will be a DIS meet with loritemp! :woohoo: Any other DISers at the World on March 7, come join us and dance, dance, dance!

Count me in on that DIS meet. Can't wait.

1016744266_nTS2D-L.jpg

Goofy's Candy Co - we will probably buy a box or two of the lovely coconut head patties.

I had thought about not going to DTD this trip. Our main store there is the Lego store and I know that it is being updated, so kinda wanted to wait for that. But coconut head patties sounds like a great souvenir for my DM who is kinda sad that she isn't going with us on this trip. Is there any other place in the world to get them?

RIDEMAKERZ_24.JPG

Ridemakerz. Our Disney Store (Times Square location) has a small Ridemakerz in it. Last night we stopped in the store and it's all Henry cared about - he beelined for the stations and hardly moved. Going into this store might be a giant mistake. We are going to have to preface it all with "We aren't buying one, just looking." We've told him if he potty trains we will buy him one - perhaps we should be a potty chair with? ;) Maybe I will send the boys here while I do a bit of solo shopping at...

My DS never seemed interested in the potty chair. So we went straight to him using the big boy toilet standing up. And this happened for us, maybe 2 months after he turned 3. So just a thought. Maybe if you tell him how special Mickey toilets are and that you know that Mickey would leave him a present if he used them for the whole trip. You never know what will work. With mine it was clearly a case that he just waited until he wanted to do it.

Joe would like a Tron mug, or shirt - or "some sort of cool Tron thing." :rotfl:

My DH really likes Tron and we had the hardest time finding Tron stuff when we were last there. I wish you better luck.

Many of these items can be picked up throughout the parks or at the resorts, so chances are high purchases will be sprinkled throughout our stay - makes it seem like we are spending less than! However, if we do get a 20% off coupon like I've been reading about (thanks for the tips Anita!), I might try to make one BIG purchase for the higher discount.

Do tell more about this coupon?

Hey Brook!!! My favorite DTD stores??? That's a terrible question to ask me because I think I'd pick the majority of them!!! :lmao:

I definitely love World of Disney because of their huge variety of items & of course Mr. Potato Head parts! Luke loved that last trip & we will definitely do it again on our next trip. I also like how WoD is broken up into different sections...but you are right, its always crowded in there!!!

I really want to try the "make your own treat" at Goofys because we passed it up last time. Although I've never been there, sooo many people here have told me how good it is!!!

I agree with your choice too...Ghiardelli's has excellent ice cream!!! YUM! I definitely recommend going there! The only thing I would suggest here is to share. We got 3 separate things & spent over $20. I know none of us finished ours & the entire time I kept asking myself "why didn't I just share with Luke?"

Mickey's Pantry is such a neat store! I didn't get a chance to spent much time in there last trip but I really liked all the different styles of kitchen accessories they had!

Tren-D is a really neat shop! I thought they had alot of different things that you don't see at the parks...I noticed that with some of the shirts anyway! I do remember seeing Mickey scarfs there so definitely check it out!! I do believe they have a jewelry counter as well but I'm not 100% on that. I think its by the Dooney purses when you first walk in the furthest door to the left (or the first door if you're entering DTD beside EoS).

Do you know about the Build a Dino inside T-Rex? (I probably told you a million times already...:rotfl:) It looked really cute but Luke was not interested last trip! They have alot of really neat stuff inside the gift shop! Luke got 2 little dinosaurs that I thought were pretty cute & I believe they cost under $4 for both of them. He still plays with them almost everyday. The one was a dinosaur on a skateboard & the other was just a green dinosaur with yellow spots...they're more like cartoons than actual dinosaurs.

Ridemakerz is definitely neat to see! I thought Luke would throw a fit & want a car, but we just walked through, looked at the cars, watched the kids "test drive" their cars, and walked to the other side to look at more cars. He didn't ask to buy one so it worked out!

My absolute favorite store is D-Street because thats the Vinylmation store! They sell some really neat tshirts in there too & Vinylmation pins and magnets!

I used to collect magnets so I was really excited to go to the magnet store. My mom told me about it & explained how there were tons & tons of magnets everywhere. I always buy a WDW magnet but waited to buy one until our DTD day...we get to that store & there wasn't a single Disney related magnet there! They had tons of cute food magnets, frogs, animals, etc. but nothing Disney. I think they had a few different Florida or Orlando magnets but that was as close as it got. I'm like you...I used to always buy resort-related merchandise & am disappointed that its gone! I've only found AKL magnets but can't find any other resort! :-(

I think that's my list of favorite stores for now!!! Basically every single shop at the Marketplace section of DTD is my favorite!!!

I always have to hit the Christmas store for a new ornament. We are going to go to DTD on the day we get off the cruise before we have to be at the airport. We are hoping to do the Characters In Flight. We also have a ADR for lunch at Raglan Road. I love their bread pudding. Though after a week of cruise food, we might not want a full lunch - might opt out for EOS.

I've heard so many good things about Characters in Flight and Raglan Road, both are on my "someday" list! Raglan Road looks like a lot of fun, and that bread pudding....yum! I hope it works out for you that you can squeeze it in. ;)

Hi Brooke,
I have been a long time lurker, but your reports are just awesome, so I had to post!!!
I am going to be in Disney the same time as you, although not for 2 weeks. (trying to convince hubby to do 2 weeks in 2012)
We are DVC members also, and will be at OKW for the first time.

I hope to "run" into you in disney.

Traci

Thank you for posting!!! :yay: OKW looks so beautiful and relaxing. The more I read and look at that resort, the more appealing it becomes to me. I hope we cross paths during the trip, be sure to say HEY! if you see me! :goodvibes

I love that you are going back to KSC (hello fellow geek :goodvibes) but I too thought immediately of your adventures at ghetto gas :lmao: Hoping for NO repeat on that one!!

I would love to take the boys to this in November but I have a feeling Patrick will be "too old" and Daniel is terribly frightened by anyone in costume so I think it's not meant to be :guilty:

:cloud9:

My first thought when I saw this pic was that mickey was giving you a thumbs down  I however will give a :thumbsup2

I thought of you, my fellow geek, while writing that update! I'm really looking forward to the return visit and I read the description about the 3D movies they have and both sound amazing - I'm excited about seeing them! I think Henry is going to be like this --> the entire time!

Okay, how did I NOT know you had a ticker?!?! How could I not have seen that! I didn't realize you were going back in November - or I just forgot? :confused3 Regardless, YAY! Congrats on another trip!! Maybe if you attend PM DHS you can just peek in and guage their reactions...maybe there will be enough regular dancing and fun and they could avoid the characters? I really haven't a clue what to expect there since I've never been though.

That's so funny about Mickey giving a thumbs down! I didn't even see that!

:rotfl: you are a kid at heart! And aren't we all at Disney??? It's actually Anita (wigdoutdismom) and MeMom who got me hooked on the potato heads and neither one of them have kids who play with the Tater Heads, they are teachers too!

I didn't realize the Mickey measuring cups had spout thingys - I love that!!

I think Henry is going to really enjoy KSC too. He's so into rockets and space, he's going to be in awe!

I really enjoyed browsing in Tren-D last trip and I'll probably dip into it again and check it out, especially if it's not too busy. I'm right there with you at Basin. I like to go and smell. I bought 2 soaps a few trips ago and was honestly a bit disappointed in them! They fell apart really quickly and it was a giant mess. They smelled alright, but weren't worth what I paid for them IMO. Plus, I don't do bubble baths - if we were staying in a 1 or 2 bedroom I might buy a bath bomb for the giant jacuzzi, but we don't even have a bathtub here at home! Now, if they sold shower gel, I might look into that!

I always liked to buy ornaments for the boys when we went on vaca. They each have a box so if they want to do trees when they move out, they will be set.

That is such a cute idea!!! I might have to adopt that one.... our current tree is smaller than Henry is, so it would be a good excuse to buy ornaments. ;)

I'm a little late to the party! Sounds like you are going to have an awesome trip! Henry is soo cute (or should I say handsome?)!! Is he really 40 inches tall already? My youngest sister is 6 and she is only 41 inches! Great PTR!

:welcome: Thank you! And yep! H is already 40.5" in bare feet. Joe and I are both really tall, so it wouldn't surprise me if he got that gene too. Though, my sister is only 5'2" so he might take after that side of the family! :goodvibes

We love browsing the art shop in DHS, so I think we are going to really like the Art of Disney. And I'm right there with ya, I don't think I'd be able to spend that kind of money either! Though, I'm certain many of the pieces are worth it!

:lmao: about the big guns at the Disney Store! Yep! That's the little Ridemakerz section. You can only make Mater or McQueen there, not a regular racecar, so that's probably why the call it Radiator Springs. I'm sure you aren't the only person to look totally confused at it!

We don't have the option on our APs, but we will probably visit sometime in the next couple years. Henry is starting to get into video games, he loves to play things on our iPad or iPhones. I bet he'll love DQ when we go!

I haven't seen pics of the Lady & Tramp salt shakers, but they sound adorable!!!

Ohhh the pressure. I guess I need get a move on. :)

Yes you do!

I really like the ornament idea! My grandma gave me my first ornaments and I was so thankful that they had some meaning and history to them.

Mickey's Pantry is a great store! We have only dipped in there a couple times, but you can find almost ANYTHING kitchen related and Mickey/Disney themed.

Yes! That sandbox in T-Rex has been on my mind, and in my notes, since you mentioned it! Thank you so much for that tip! It will be really handy if Joe or I want to do a bit more shopping but Henry is getting bored.

:lmao::rotfl2::laughing:

hahahaha....

Your plans sound great to me. I live in FL and have never been to KSC. I should check it out. I'll wait for your TR to read all about it! Looks like a cool place though. I can't wait to shop at DD. Gosh, it's been almost 5 years since I was last at Disney. I just can't wait to go.

If we lived in FL Joe would probably be an AP holder at KSC! It really is very cool. It's a BIG complex with a ton to do. It can easily be a 2 day trip too.

I'm excited for your trip! Your little one is going to just loooooove it, watching the magic light up in their eyes is the BEST.

After the last week I've had, I am just too far behind to comment on everything or I'd not be able to check in all my threads. I continue to read your plans and they sound great. I do love Mickey's Pantry and just ask Mark...the Christmas store at Downtown Disney--my FAVORITE store. ;)

No worries about catching up Kathy.

 about asking Mark about the Christmas store. You spend a lot of time there with Mark being ready to go after about 5 minutes??? LOL That's how Joe gets in some stores.

Ah, yes! You know that store well! ;)

Wow! $4 is a STEAL! Nice buy!!! I'll have to keep that in mind for a future Disney ornament purchase too! Makes sense that they clear out some of the designs before the big shopping Black Friday. I bet most people would expect a better deal on Black Friday or after Christmas so they don't even look!

Count me in on that DIS meet. Can't wait.

:woohoo: YAY!!!!

My DS never seemed interested in the potty chair. So we went straight to him using the big boy toilet standing up. And this happened for us, maybe 2 months after he turned 3. So just a thought. Maybe if you tell him how special Mickey toilets are and that you know that Mickey would leave him a present if he used them for the whole trip. You never know what will work. With mine it was clearly a case that he just waited until he wanted to do it.

My DH really likes Tron and we had the hardest time finding Tron stuff when we were last there. I wish you better luck.

Do tell more about this coupon?

Hmmm....I think the coconut head patties are available other places. The only place I can think of off hand is the Poly though. I imagine they are in the candy shop on Main Street too, but I'm not certain.

I think Henry is just like your DS - we have to wait until he wants to do it. A bit stubborn. I have NO IDEA where he got that from. :rolleyes1 ;) We have literally tried everything from bribing with candy to a Disney cruise. No joke. We have done sticker charts, treat charts, no chart, stand up, sit down, big potty, little potty, taking privileges away unless he tries, training pants, straight to underwear, "Mommy isn't buying anymore diapers." and more. Nothing is working. So, we are giving up until June when we will have to do a boot camp type potty training for pre-school in September. Hopefully between now and then he'll decide he wants to. He has been showing more and more signs of "big boy" "I can do that!" lately. He zips his own coat even! :thumbsup2

I've heard much of the Tron stuff is sold out. I'm hoping they re-stocked, or we find something! He's looked at the Disney store and wasn't excited over any of it. Not sure what he wants. lol

The coupon! At some CS locations a coupon prints on the bottom of the receipt good for 20% off at various stores during certain hours (morning hours). I know the Emporium is included in the list of shops that you can use the coupon at.

I love the pretzel rods at Goofy's! Sooooo good, salty and sweet! I might try a gingerbread man this time though - but not with a ton of toppings. Maybe I'll just get one of those that are dipped a little bit. Not sure yet!

Joe isn't big on ice cream, he prefers baked goods. So Giradehlli isn't very interesting to him....but it IS to me! Ice cream is one of the few desserts I like! (that and chocolate lava cake, creme brulee, tiramisu and a few select others!) So, I might just drag him in there and let him have a few bites and share with Henry - even though he will want his own.

I think I will check out Tren-D again. We went in for a few minutes last trip, but I didn't look around too much. Maybe if Joe and Henry are busy at the Lego store or something I will take more time to look. It's such a fun store to even look into with all their decoration!

I did know about the build a Dino, it sounds so cute! I've never told Henry about it - in hopes to avoid it. ;) I'm certain if we go in there he will want to look at everything, so we will see what catches his attention....

Ridemakerz sounds like a lot of fun! I'm thinking Henry won't really want to leave. He BEGS for a Mater/McQueen one from our Disney store and that's all he wants to do when we are there. It's so funny. You'd think it would get him to go in the toilet though!!!

Isn't it so weird that the magnet store doesn't have Disney ones? We too collect magnets from wherever we visit, so I remember going in here a few trips back thinking they would have a great selection and....nothing. It was cute, but I didn't buy a thing!

Two Weeks from Today...March 8.

Today we will wake up in BLT and head down into the main Contemporary Resort Tower for a breakfast meal with Mickey!

Dining_ChefMickey%27s_01.jpg

We ate dinner here years ago, but haven't been back since. We didn't like the dinner food that night, but the character interaction was SUPERB! I'm hoping breakfast is not a disappointment, and I don't think it will be considering how many of you have done this numerous times! :thumbsup2

After Chef Mickey's we don't have any solid plans. The crowd levels are high today again, rating at a 9 out of 10! It's also Mardi Gras. PixieDustandEeyore mentioned POFQ having a Mardi Gras parade, so I looked a bit deeper into this and it looks really cute! I'm not sure what time the parade is, but if it works out for us to head over there this day, we just might. Perhaps a ride on the boats and some DTD can be done too. We will just do whatever we are feelin' this day.

At some point during the day we will head over to Epcot. We have an early dinner ADR for

21a.jpg

YUM! I'm so looking forward to my onion volcano!

We didn't have this ADR planned until fairly recently when I decided to add the Deluxe Dining Plan to this day to cover the $30 Chef Mickey's Breakfast and a dinner we have planned for the next day. It ended up being cheaper to just add the DxDDP AND we get to try Teppan Edo!! Sure, we will have to pay a tip, so you must factor that in, but the minimal extra cost is worth the experience. Might as well eat expensively since we will already be saving over the other two meals, right??? :teacher:

And I will be thinking of CP's Charles being the "King of Teppan Edo" the entire time we are eating there. :rotfl2:

Again, after dinner we don't have any solid plans...we will just roll along with whatever we feel like doing. Back to the resort? Stay in Epcot? Resort hop? One of the many things on our "out of the parks" list? Who knows! Only time will tell!

We are at FOUR days. I can't hardly believe it!

Here is what is left on my To Do list:

  1. Add DDP and DxDDP to appropriate days.
  2. Review/finalize/tweak all plans/update park hours in phone
  3. Load iItems with movies/podcasts/music - Joe's List!
  4. Buy postcard stamps
  5. Get pedicure
  6. Look at Steve Soar's site for show times, put in phone
  7. Make sure everything is charged - Joe's List!
  8. Pack, don't forget GPS!
  9. Airline check-in
  10. Clean house
  11. Mail pictures of Henry to family
  12. Send in application for Henry's pre-school
  13. Pay DISer for surprise gift for Henry :goodvibes
  14. Schedule car service
That's down from over 50 items. Not too shabby! Lots of simple things. I should be able to knock off a couple today. Packing is the biggest chore, and I have a couple plastic tubs of stuff organized in our closet, so I should be able to just take things out of that and into suitcases. I found an area in our teeny little apartment to lay out the suitcase, so that might get done TODAY! :yay:

Great day, Brook. We LOVE Chef Mickey's for breakfast (our last dinner there was awful and we won't go back; but there's not much damage you can do to breakfast).

We've never done Teppan Edo so I'll be curious as to what you think of it.

I know you are going to have a great breakfast at Chef Mickey's!!!! You HAVE to try the mystery turkey potato thing and let me know what you think of it. :lmao::lmao:

Ohhhhh... Teppan Edo!! I've never eaten there but I have it set in my mind that I WILL eat here on my next trip! popcorn::

Your 'to do' list doesn't seem all to bad. :confused3
