Has any one tried to use two way radios at wdw?
DW thinks it's a good idea . I don't think they have enough range. pirate:

We have used ours several times. The biggest problem is that EVERYONE uses them so you can never find a channel that you do not pick up someone else. We use them if we are going to be seperated and just listen for our name. Even the ones with a two mile range are actually pretty good. We have always been able to get each other within the same park and sometimes from a park to the hotel or another park.

We used to use them, but as someone else mentioned it seemed as though every other person was also using them! A lot of hearing other people's conversations coming through!

We now use cell phones - we have the Nextel ones which are like 2-way radio only you only are speaking to a specific person. If you already have cell phones, you may want to use them, if not, the 2-ways are a great way to take advantage of people splitting up and wanting to meet later.

I just purchased four disney frs two-way radios from e-bay and I'm SOOO excited to use them!! We got the adventure set and the princess set. Has anyone else used these and do they work well? We're having fun playing with them here at home!

I find them to be a waste of time. Everyone else has the same idea. cell phones work better.

We used ours New Years for the first time...just make sure you have gmrs, a good range, chargers, and lots of channels. The crowds were so bad at EPCOT New Year's Eve that we were separated almost every five minutes without being able to see each other and we each had one of the girls. I now wouldn't go without them.

We've used the Motorola 2 way radios on our last few trips, though we're rarely apart from each other when we're at the parks.

You must get the radios with the sub channels, otherwises you will be getting everyone's chatter. We must be lucky because we've picked a certain channel/subchannel combination that nobody must be using. I've yet to hear anyone else's chatter while using them at WDW.

As mentioned before, cell phones are now working just as good or better (depending if you have some type of direct connect or if you have to pay per call).

I think we will take our two-ways and our cell phones. That way if one isn't working for us, maybe the other will. Thanks!
