Going to CRT with 2 adults and three DD. I have still not decided whether to use credits or pay OOP. I have also thought about using credits for adults and pay for kids... Any help would be appreciated.

That would be really expensive to pay OOP. I am planning to use the two credits when we go, and pay OOP for our character breakfast at Ohana to make up for the one table service I am using.

I'd pay OOP. I think those two TS credits are MUCH more valuable used elsewhere.

I'll grant you that $33.99 adult and $22.99 child is expensive, but I certainly would never have the slightest difficulty getting $33.99 in value from ONE TS credit at just about any TS restaurant in Disney...much less two. Our ONE TS meals always run $40-60 per adult.

Same with the kid's credit, but not as dramatic. I can certainly get more than $22.99 in value from 2 TS's, which is what you are paying.

I agree. We're paying OOP for our upcoming trip for CRT breakfast for 2 Adults and 1 child. I guess it depends on what other TS restaurants you're doing. We're doing HDDR (2TS credits) and Le Cellier (great value for 1 TS credit), among others. Both of those are more expensive and the TS credits will go much further. But some TS might be comparable. It just depends on what you prefer. Crunch the numbers.

I'd pay out of pocket, but it would depend on your other dining choices. If you have no other 2 credit meals planned and you have a regular character breakfast planned it would be less expensive to then pay OOP for the least expensive meal. If I were you I'd take a look at your plans and plan on paying for hte least expensive meal OOP, or just plan one of your last days to not use any TS and pay a bit OOP for CS.

We're having the same dilema- well, sorta. We are using 2 TS at HDDR, but think that's well worth it. However, we are trying to decide if we should pay OOP for something else- like Donald's BK and use our TS for another sit down or just deal with CS. For now, I think we are just sticking with using only credits and paying OOP for any extra CS meals. We have a very early dinner/late lunch at LeCellier for the CDP at 2:30 one day, so we aren't sure when we'll want to eat again and how much.

I'm also in the camp that says 2 TS credits for CRT is not a good value for your credits. However, I don't know how long your stay is either. For a shorter stay, I wouldn't want to give up any of my TS's, so would definitely pay OOP. But when we were there for 10 days (of free ddp), we found we were grateful for our one day of no TS's. And our one day of 2 TS's was too much. So, if you don't mind filling in the extra day with CS meals, or don't think you could manage 2 TS's in one day (if you paid OOP), I'd use the credits. If you don't want to give up your TS's, and can either do 2 in one day or can arrange for one on your arrival day and one on your departure day (to use up the extra), then I'd pay OOP. I don't think I'd pay OOP for an extra TS meal while using 2 credits for CRT.

(I hope that made sense--it did it my head, but that doesn't always make it onto the page. )

As for using adult credits and paying OOP for kids, you might encounter some resistance. It could look like you're trying to save up the kids' credits for adult meals. And then you're left with an odd number of credits to be used at another meal. I personally didn't want to have to deal with any suspicion or having to figure out when and where to use TS credits or pay OOP, so we just used all our credits at each TS. There was still PLENTY of food for everyone each day, and we still had a couple of CS credits and lots of snack credits left at the end. Have fun, and enjoy!

I've also heard many people end up leaving WDW with lots of credits left on their plan. My intention is to go in and use my DDP for everything and not "save" them for later. If I get towards the end of my trip and have used all my credits then I will start to pay OOP. Also from what I've heard it is a lot of food and I may not need to pay OOP for much...

in the case of CRT, it's actually more economical to pay OOP for the ADULTS and use the TS credits for the kids.

Think I'll let this one go for a bit-. I truly don't like closing threads, and in a better world I wouldn't have to close any--.
Thanks for the PM's. The "heads up" lets me get to these threads early, so they can be locked before everyone gets all riled up.

If you aren't going to be eating anywhere else you can use the TS credits then go ahead and use them. However, two TS credits is very steep for CRT. My meal at Narcoossees with two TS credits would have cost $90, so using those two TS credits on a $40 meal at CRT would seem a waste.......again, unless you have no other use for the credits.
