Oops! We overslept!
We got up later than planned and hopped a monorail over to Epcot for our Princess Breakfast, which was scheduled for 8:05 a.m. By the time we get to Epcot its 8:40 a.m. We get through the gates and then get to where the cast members are standing with a rope to hold people back and tell them we have the breakfast and they let us go through while looks of envy from people behind us. We ran to Norway to make sure they would still let us in so late and they did. Wow, World Showcase was totally empty, it was strange to be there when it was so empty. I had DH run ahead to let them know we were here and they let us in, with no problems! So we got seated right away and as we were sitting down I heard the table on the other side of the wall from us complaining about their meal and the service and the manager was over there trying to calm them down. After they were talking for about 5 minutes, I finally hear the manager say, well thats how our breakfast is done and Im sorry it is not what you expected or wanted. The family got up and left the restaurant. I didnt know what that was about, but wasnt about to let it spoil my breakfast. So we met our waiter and boy was he busy, or at least he must have been because right after he gave us our orange juice and the food we didnt see him again for a while. We finally asked a CM standing by if he could find our waiter for more orange juice. The CM explained to us that he was in the restaurant only for the reason to watch the Princesses and take them in the back for breaks. I understand what his job is, but couldnt he find someone for us and help us out? Finally he goes to get our waiter, at this point all our waiters tables are looking angry like we were. At one point my husband asked for more pancakes or French toast, whichever one it was that originally came out with the breakfast with a little thing of syrup and the waiter brought it without the syrup and before we could request the syrup he ran off. We were getting a little perturbed ourselves. So all the Princesses finally make their way into our room so we can get our photos and we meet Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora/Sleeping Beauty/Briar Rose, Mulan and Belle. It was a pretty good showing of Princesses. When Jasmine came over I explained to her that she was extra special to my husband and I because 9 years ago on our second date we went to see Aladdin together. She blushed and said thanks. It was cute. We finally leave, thank goodness. And we wanted to tour the empty world showcase, but beyond Norway it was roped off for another two hours, so we headed past Mexico and over into Future showcase by passing through that restaurant and over to Test Track. DH was ready to go on this ride once again and was determined to ride it three times today, since we planned to be here all day. So off we went on it together first and then he rode it single. Then we headed over to Body Wars and then skipped Universe of Energy as DH and I have seen it a million times and just didnt want to spend the time in there. We make our way over to Honey I Shrunk the Kids and then Journey into Imagination, where I begged for a Figment stuffed animal, since I had no more of my spending money left to spend. I was told no, that I had enough, which he was right. But my argument was that you never know how much longer the character Figment would be around and I grew up loving him! Still DHs answer was no. Then we head to the Land, which I always loved. We look at the line for the ride in there and its huge, so we decide to skip it and by this point Im getting tired and so is DH, so we decide that we want to go back to the hotel and actually get in our first midday break during the whole trip. So we skip the Living Seas and head towards the Monorail. On the way we see the shop for Animation cells and postcards and such. I have to stop here because I always do when in Epcot, so I drag DH in the store. I see a poster for the 100th Anniversary with all the characters on it every single character. It was perfect, I had seen this picture somewhere in a magazine or online prior to the 100th celebration and had wanted to get something similar to this while I was here. I had to have this item, I had even had it on my list of souviners to get, but had forgotten about it. You see back during the 25th Anniversary at WDW, my sister was working in WDW through the college program and living with five other girls doing the same thing and a couple of her roommates were characters and knew many other characters there. So they bought a ton of the 25th anniversary posters and took them to their friends and they all signed the official autographs around each of the characters on the poster and my sister gave me one of those posters as a Christmas present one year. It is a very treasured gift, needless to say, since its not easily duplicated. So I decided that I wanted to do the same thing on this trip and buy a 100th poster at the beginning and try to find as many characters on it as possible and just have them sign it, but I had totally forgot about it the first day, because I was so infatuated with the 100th light up pins. Oh well, if I had taken it around with me it would had been hard to keep it from being wrinkled anyways. DH decides to buy the poster for me $30, since he knew how much I treasured the other one, which he had specially framed for me one year. On our way to the monorail DH wanted to stop and call the airlines to see if our request for first class went through and he called and said that they werent sure yet and that it didnt look likely L, oh well, I was so happy with my poster, off we went to the monorail. As we were waiting to get on the monorail we were standing by the front of the monorail, at this point we had ridden in the front of the monorail about 4 times and didnt care to ride it again. But we were just standing over in that area because it looked less crowded. There was a lady standing there with her family making a scene about not getting to ride up front. A CM came over and she asked if she could ride up front because her family was the first one in line over in this area and that DOES entitle them to sitting up front! The CM said he was sorry, but she should had said something to him sooner, because a family had just walked up to him and asked and he told them yes. So she was furious and making a ridiculous scene. DH and I just looked at her and she turned to me and lashed out dont you think that you can ride up front next time either, because Im sure to get that monorail! I was in shock that she was actually talking to me, a stranger, who didnt even know her or care about what was going on. So I just ignored her as if she wasnt talking to me, I think that made her even more upset. When the monorail came we got on and instead of waiting for the next one to get to ride up front as this evil lady claimed she was going to do, she just got on. We stopped at the TTA and switched over to the MK monorail to go back to the GF and when we did they asked us if we wanted to ride up front, so we said sure and I figured if that evil lady found out she would be angry! Oh well, we finally get to the GF and trying to decide if we should actually swim for once or nap. Im exhausted and decide to nap and DH follows. Actually he watches some sports as I position myself on my bed just perfect so that I can see the castle while laying there. I fall asleep while watching the monorail pass in front of the beautiful castle. What a perfect room!!! About 3 hours later I wake up totally refreshed and hungry. This was the first time we skipped lunch during the whole trip, which DH was happy about. With as much food as you are served at the character breakfasts and meals here, he didnt think it was necessary to eat three times a day. So we get ready to head back to Epcot and get on the monorail. On the way through the lobby we hear the band start to play such a wonderful environment! We get over to Epcot and first thing DH has to do is ride Test Track. Well he did it, he rode it three times in one day five times the entire trip and was already making plans for the next time! YES, DH actually is planning next trip thank you Test Track!!!! We were a little early for our PS at San Angel but they took us anyways. I absolutely love this restaurant, always a must for every trip Ive been to WDW. I love the scenery here its gorgeous. We were lucky enough to be put right by the water with the boats passing by. It was so romantic! We both ordered the Plato Mexicano and a queso something for an appetizer delicious! We expected the queso to be a cheese dip with meat in it from the description in the menu, but out came a tray and a server putting a big melting piece of cheese on a skillet, mixing in some meat and cutting it up into bits and then putting those pieces on a flour tortilla. It made about 4-5 flour tortillas worth. We were a little puzzled, but boy was it good!!!! Im hungry just thinking about it! Our Plato Mexicano had a small steak piece of meat, burrito and enchilada. It was all delicious. Then came out the waiters with a cake and sang to me. My birthday was yesterday and still the celebration has not ended! It was a huge cake and as they sung to me and put the cake down in front of me they got a spoon and started to scoop up some of the whip cream and I assumed they were going to feed it to me as they sung, but instead they put it on my nose. It was pretty funny. We finished dinner and went on the ride there and had a wonderful time in a boat all to ourselves. After Mexico, we headed over to Norway and rode the ride there, which DH had never been on and loved. While we waited to get on the ride one of the CMs from Norway, of course, was singing a song in her native language and it was cool. After my picture with the big troll in the Norway shop we headed over to China, then Germany an took some photos and then over to Japan, where I admired the landscape and then we decided that we wanted to be over towards the exit when Illuminations started so we hopped the boat and it took us over to future world. I hated that I was never able to go back to finish the rest of the countries like Italy and France. Oh well, next time. Im trying to remember if DH at this point went on Test Track one last time while in the dark, I believe he did and then DH finally gave in and bought Figment for me and waited on a nearby bench for Illuminations to start. We got some great video of the fireworks. We hurried out of the park when it was over and got back to GF to see the colors changing on the castle from our balcony again and yet for the last time. We started to pack up too and while we were in our room for about 10-15 minutes we didnt even notice the bucket of ice and champagne sitting on our table with two champagne glasses and card from the GF stating Happy Anniversary. It was really sweet. So DH goes out on the balcony to open it and we toast to a great 4th year of marriage and many more to come. I sit out on the balcony sipping champagne and watching the castle.
Coming Up, last day, Stay Tuned: Will Mike buy Wendy yet another souvenir? Will they get to ride everything before they leave? Will Mike get his hair cut at the Main Street barbershop? Will Mike save one last surprise for Wendy at the end of the trip?
