Two rooms?

Can you have two rooms reserved under your own name?

We currently have a reservation for my family and my sister's family for November. We are trying to stay at the same resort. They didn't have the entire reservations available at one resort for the entire time. We have the last five days together at AKV but for the first two nights, we have BWV and they have OKW with a waitlist for those nights at BWV.

We would love for them to get the waitlist but if it doesn't come through what is more important to all of us is being able to stay at the same resort. Will they let me keep my BWV reservation and make a 2nd one for OKW just to be sure that we do have the same resort if the waitlist doesn't come through.

Thanks for any info. This is my first time trying to coordinate two separate reservations.

If anyone has any other suggestions that would help me, please inform me.

As long as you have the points to support the second reservation I don't see why there would be a problem...Although, a possible scenario is you have both reservations (BWV and OKW), your sister doesn't get her BWV reservations so you cancel yours to go be with her and as a result her waitlist comes through and she is at BWV and you are left with OKW.

Other things to consider is the impact of cancel one of your two reservations inside of 30 days.

You may need to put someone else's name first on the second reservation if you try to do that. I was changing reservations last year because family members cancelled and tried to make the new one for the smaller room first and it kept kicking it out as I still had the one for the 2BR. Once we cancelled that it was no problem. The CM said the system kicks out if you try to make two for the same dates in the same name.

Thank you both. I certainly didn't want to do something wrong by tying up two rooms.

I called MS and made a backup reservation for OKW for the first two nights. They said it was OK, so right now I have 2 reservations for those two nights.I will hold hopes that my sister's waitlist will come thru, but if not I will cancel our BW res. & her waitlist at the same time so we will definately be at the same resort the entire 7 nights.
