I originally booked my trip for 4/27-5/2. Last week I added 2 days on but it is a separate reservation. Both are at Port Orleans French Quarter. What are the chances they will let us stay in the same room for the entire stay?

It’s not 100% guaranteed but they would be stupid to not let you stay in the stay room. Why would they have housekeeping do your room and another room? Just make sure you have them note it on your reservation, and I would stop by the front desk at check in just to make sure.

No one can really answer that question.

But what I would do is go down to the front desk when you arrive to talk to them.

When we were there for Irma we extended our trip by one day while there at the back end and asked nicely if there was any way we could stay in our assigned room. We explained it was completely ok if they couldn't but it would be our preference. They were able to keep us in our room but we absolutely did understand that it may not happen that way.

To be fair I'm not sure that matters really.

It's entirely possible that their room would be serviced that day AND another room cleaned that day for someone else so switching rooms could have a net zero effect for housekeeping.

It's more or less logistically preferred so the guest doesn't have to pack up and move locations and for MB/room card access doesn't have to change to another room, etc.

We've done this a fair number of times. We always call 10 days or so prior to our arrival and ask them to link the reservations and see if we can stay put. We understand it's not guaranteed, but we haven't had to move yet.

While not a guarantee, probably better odds if the tacked on days are at the end of your stay since you'll already be in there when the assigners would be working on the second reservation. I'd still put it on there as a request - assuming you're in the same type of room (though in that case why not just call them in the first place to extend the reservation?). If it is two different types of room, I would not count on it at all.

If the same room category call and have the CM label the last nights as a "continuing reservation" linked to your first one. When you check in for the first reservation they may be able to see if you've been assigned the same room, if not they may ask you to check back in a day or two to verify it.

Never guaranteed, but they do try to let you keep the room if possible. Be aware one adult will still have to check out/check in at the front desk on the changeover day. Take all MB with you as we've had issues with them unlocking the door for the new res - we usually just keep the same MB and decline the second set in our MDE account.

Also, housekeeping rarely gets the message that you are staying, they just see the original check out day on their worksheet. We try to speak to the housekeeper in the hall or call the housekeeping dept. so they are not knocking on our door every 30 minutes to see if we've left yet.

As the OP has said, if a different room category or lead name they can't link them at all.

We had two back to back stays last summer at Pop in the same room type and had to move. They put a group in the area where our room was and we were assigned a different room for part 2 of our trip. They absolutely could not let us stay in the same room. Believe me I tried. I would think this is the exception rather than the norm. However I will always try to keep my stats to 1 reservation. Did you try to call and have them blend the two stays into one. If they are the same room type and either both full prices or both under the same discount, you should be able to have a supervisor put them together. Ours couldn’t be because it was 15 nights and the discount was only good for max of 14 nights even though we had the same discount for all 15 nights.

Hmm never had to do that with mine in 2017.

When we went up to the front desk and extended our trip we got a print out of all the itemized charges per night and our reservation actually had 9/8-9/18 vs our old 9/8-9/17 after the extension was granted, monies paid for the additional night and discussion related to staying in the same room.

Perhaps the difference with ours though is that we didn't have a second reservation already made though until we were in the front lobby on check in day.

We are currently at POFQ right now with two reservations. We also have 2 days added on to the end. I was told that I definitely get to stay in my room my entire stay, I just need to check in at the front desk the morning of my second reservation. They arranged it for me, before I asked about it, which was nice.

So, I think they do their best to accommodate when possible. Odds are good. :)

We did two back to back reservations at AKL late November into early December. When I checked in to the first I asked if we could keep our room for the 2nd. The CM at the desk phoned someone and asked and confirmed that I could and informed me I just needed to come down and check out/in on the day of the switch which I did with no issue. We got two separate folio receipts for the individual reservations but they were able to accommodate our request.

I'm checking in to Caribbean Beach tomorrow... Long story short... Wife got pregnant unexpectedly, we had two trips planned, one shorty trip for New Years and one longer for February for nieces and us. When we found out about the baby we canceled February and added 4 nights to tomorrow's trip. Got an email this past Saturday saying they couldn't put is in the same room for this trip because of booking different categories (it's all that was available). I sent them an incredibly nice email telling them she was pregnant, how I've been over 40 some times, got engaged and married there, how we probably could have paid for my unborn son's college tuition with all the money my family has paid over the years, that we had to cancel a trip and we didn't care which category we were in just as long as we could stay in the room. I asked if Tink had any extra Pixie dust to please beg her to use it ;) Got an email back less than half an hour later... "I've talked to Tink, she's excited for you and is able to spread some extra pixie dust this time and keep you in one room. Congratulations from me and Tink!". Disney is amazing.

Moral of the story... ask. It can't hurt
