Yes, on the phone for two hours making ADRS for three meals. What a joke, I hope the rest of disney does not fall apart or I will be calling the timeshare store for a SRR sale.

Just remember - that has to do with the new dining system computer. It's completely separate from DVC and there's really nothing MS can do about that.

If you go over to the dining forum, you'll see that most people are dealing with really long waits to get ADR's. (Myself among them.) The CM I was on the phone with was telling me how bad the new system is.

Holy smokes... We made 15 days worth yesterday. Total <15 minutes.
Guess we hit it lucky. :smokin:

MG

made 4 adrs today, waited 5 min, was done in another 5. luck of the draw.

Did Mine a few days ago. 8 adr's in 20 minutes. Got every day I wanted and the times I wanted. I was amazed. Even Le cellier at 6 pm for dinner. That has never happened in all the years we have been going to disney. We usally take what we can get at any time we can get. This year got it all.

I made our ADRs the other day for our trip in June. I made reservations for 3 breakfasts, and 2 dinners. I got the spots and times we wanted (we are a group of 4 adults and 1 child).
It only took me about 20 minutes at best and that was taking the time to give my credit card to hold the breakfast in Norway and dinner at the California Grille.

Woah! How many ADRs are you making. I've called 3 times over the past two weeks fo rmy upcoming trip in two weeks (April 5-10).

Before calling I made out a tentive park schedule, so that I know where'd we be and what restraunts/resorts were close by. The only times we won't be at a restraunt near a park or near a resort is two dinners we have scheduled in DTD.

I was on and off the phone in no time. 15 minutes tops. Each time I called I'd make one or two reservations for places I knew that the hubster would like (i.e PICKY eater) then I'd discuss places with him the next night.

I guess I am lucky because our daughter is scared of the characters and too young for a character breakfast right now (20 months). The one place we really wanted (O'hana) was booked for the times we wanted. They had opening for after 9:00, but that's too late to eat with our little one. Maybe next time.

I always asked about my top choice or moved it to a different day if I really wanted it. I also had a second choice in mind, if proximity or availibility didn't work out. The CM also would suggest an aternative if 1 and 2 weren't
available.

Then agian, I'm not going during those dreaded June dates so maybe I had nothing to worry about.

When our daughter is older and wants to do a character breakfast, then I'll fret in he meantime I've always had luck in calling in close proximity to my trip or trying when I am on property/concierge...............

Yes, but this is the SAME IT shop that will be developing online booking for DVC!!!!

(Are you sure you want it??? I don't until Disney FIRES the IT shop and starts over.)

I did 3 ADRs yesterday and booked 5 consecutive nights (admittedly, a different trip from the ADRs) at SSR in September and it took me 70+ minutes. Unbelievable (and unacceptable). :confused3

I'm not excited about making my July ADRs next month after reading all of the horror stories about the new dining system. I've even read that folks are having a difficult time doing their 90+10 when they have a split stay. While I've not had any problem making ADRs for my early May trip, I think all of the problems are for the late May timeframe. I was hoping that by calling MS, it would be better than the regular dining number. At least my day is a Sunday.

I too was on hold h*ll as I call it yesterday. 1 hr and 55 minutes :scared1: on Disney's Dining line before I quit at 9am and called MS and had them do it. It was easier to get BLT for NYE on Feb 15th! Then I was on with a CM for 30 minutes and could not get LeCelliar for dinner for any day during my week long trip in June nor could I get Sci - Fi Dine in Theater for lunch at anytime on the day I wanted. It was crazy. In all my years of doing this I have never been so frustrated. Even the CM who helped me said the new dining system was the problem.

I am new to DVC and will be using our points for the first time at BLT in August. Do I call MS to make my ADRs or do I call the Disney dining number?
Thanks in advance!

Oh NO! :scared1: I have to call on Thurs for an 8 day trip with quite a few ADRs, a tour, and dinner show. I will have 45 mins tops before I have to be in court. Looks like I will need some pixie dust!! :wizard:
At least I'm encouraged that some of you have gotten it done quickly.

...nor could I get Sci - Fi Dine in Theater for lunch at anytime on the day I wanted.

I, too, had problems with sci fi lunch. Probably spent a total of 2 hours on the phone over 4 calls. Ended up with 3 of 4 desired reservations and no sci fi. First call was 95 days out as we wanted sci fi on our last day. No way they were fully booked for lunch that far out!!!

For clarity, I was on the phone with a MS Team Member for over 70 minutes. This was not time I spent waiting for someone to answer the phone. That took < 5 minutes.

My ADR's were NOT complicated. In all fairness, 15 minutes of it was doing the Sept reservation with incentive points but it still took almost an hour to get 3 ADRs done and 1 reservation for Simba's. Ridiculous. I've probably done my last ADR. There are plenty of great restaurants 2 miles down the road for 1/2 the price. It's really a shame.

I thought I'd post the same update that I posted on the other thread as to my ADR-making experience yesterday. I didn't call MS to make them, since I started at 7am (or at least tried to.) Maybe next time I'll just go through MS.:confused3

My Update!

So I posted earlier that I was still on hold at 7:20, but needed to leave at 7:30 to head in to NYC for an audition.

Well, I ended up hanging up at 7:30 and leaving. I took all my stuff with me, and plugged my hands-free into the cell phone on the road, and called again at 8:00am. I finally got through to a CM after 45 minutes on hold. She was a "soft talker" for those of you who ever saw that Seinfeld episode, so I couldn't hear what she was saying half the time.

After scheduling 3 of my ADR's, Verizon dropped my call.

So I had to call back AGAIN - that time I was on hold about 20 minutes before getting a CM - just as I was approaching the Lincoln Tunnel. That CM was GREAT! She was super friendly and checked to make sure everything had gone through from the previous call (it had) and then she finished everything up for me. She was just really nice to talk to (while the computer took it's good ol' time.) It was funny - she was talking to me about the new system and how frustrating it was for all of them. It keeps crashing, making it hard to do much of anything. We agreed what a disaster it would be to put it out there for the general populace to use online.:scared1:

But in the end, I got everything I wanted and really close to the times we wanted too.

Here's what we ended up with. (We're staying at our home resort, AKV, so you'll see that we are eating there quite a bit!)

6/21 - Sanaa - 7:40pm
6/22 - Ohana - 7:55pm
6/23 - Artist Point - 7:05pm (our anniversary dinner)
6/24 - Wanyama Safari/Jiko Dinner
6/25 - Boma - 7:10pm

It's your choice. You can use either.

It's sometimes quicker to call CRO and make them. Member Services has an 800 number, though.

In either case, they'll get linked to your DVC reservation if you give them the same phone number.

Since we usually travel at less crowded times in the parks and prefer very early dining times, I think I'm going to go back to winging it instead of making ADRs. We used to always do that, and with a couple of exceptions, it has not been an issue. For our May trip I only made ADRs for Artist Point and Jiko. The rest I'll wing.

I'm on hold right now with MS and I just asked if they've been having trouble with dining reservations and she got that special laugh and said, "Yes, there have been issues". I'm currently buying La Nouba tickets (cat 2 tickets are currently discounted 30% for DVCers) and she ran into problems getting the system to work. I wonder if those IT guys at Disney get bonuses?:lmao:
