<Script language='Javascript'>var rndNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10000);eval("var CDTDate" + rndNum + " = '07/02/2004 9:00:00 AM EST';");document.writeln("<form name='CDTform" + rndNum + "' action='Javascript:void(0);'>");document.writeln('<font size=2 color=fuchsia>Watch out Mickey...I`m coming!! :wave: :Pinkbounc :tongue: :Pinkbounc :wave:</font><br>');document.writeln("<input type=text value='' size=40 name='WrittenByJamesMVenglarikII'>");document.writeln("</form>");if (theFunction) theFunction += "var d = new Date();";else var theFunction = "var d = new Date();";theFunction += "var c = new Date('" + eval("CDTDate" + rndNum) + "');";theFunction += "var diff = (c - d)/1000;";theFunction += "var days = Math.floor(diff / 86400);";theFunction += "var rem = diff - (days * 86400);";theFunction += "var hours = Math.floor(rem / 3600);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (hours * 3600);";theFunction += "var minutes = Math.floor(rem / 60);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (minutes * 60);";theFunction += "var seconds = Math.floor(rem);";theFunction += "if ((days < 0) | (hours < 0) | (minutes < 0) | (seconds < 0)) ";theFunction += "var out = 'Go Mickey go Mickey!!!!';";theFunction += "else ";theFunction += "var out = ' ' + days + ' days ' + hours + ' hrs. ...is probably the best advice I can give anyone for the majority of their night shots. The flash will do nothing to help take pics of Cinderella Castle all lit up at night -- in fact, the flash will instead illumine the closest object and that bright object will overwhelm the shot. That said -- some cameras have the built-in ability to take a picture with both bright foregrounds and backgrounds (e.g. DH standing in front of Cinderella Castle at night).
For fireworks -- set your camera to a nice long exposure (2 seconds is great) -- and find something solid on which to rest the camera or use a tripod to take those shots.
If all else fails -- read the manual. Sometimes they are actually quite useful.
Good luck with your Disney photography!!!

How about just buying a disposal regular-camera too. That way, you can switch off, and have some back-up pictures "just in case". I'm the digital camera-meister in my family (w/two ds's 10 & 14) I'm going to buy them both disposals so I don't have to hear "take a picture of this...take a picture of that!"

As to firework photos...like RoyalCanadian suggested, you have to be able to set your camera down or use a tripod. Even if you think you can hold real steady, the pictures will end up really blurry even from the slightest movement. Be sure to study your camera manuel before you go. I love my new Coolpix 4300, it has a special setting for fireworks, so I don't have to figure all the other stuff out myself (what can I say, I'm blond!)

I second the disposable camera's, but buy some different kinds.
For example, underwater, panaramic, (these are really nice) and even try some black and white. or just a regular camera with different kinds of film can be fun too. When getting them developed have them copied to a disk or you can scan them yourself and edit them too.

Depending on when u are going, the prices of digtal cameras
coming down. You might have time to save up if its a matter of money.

No flash, use the digital camera's low light setting, and the key is to keep the camera very steady. I have taken tons of night shots and have found that the best way to get a picture to turn out is to find something solid to rest the camera on (pole, rock, fence, etc.) I have a few nice fireworks pictures from Epcot that I took with an old cheapie digital camera. It took 40 pictures to get 2 or 3 good ones. In other words, the best way to get some great pictures is to take a lot of pictures. After all, since you have a digital camera, you can delete them.
It is a good idea to have a large memory card to hold a lot of pictures as well.

That's so funny!

I'm going on my honeymoon next week and I'm worried about us sharing the digital at WDW!!!

I am taking my 35mm along, but I know we're both going to want the digital.

It's hard to go back once you start using digital.....

I'm glad for the reminder to read the manual about taking night shots, etc.

We've mainly just used it for the wedding so far, and family events.
