Hi everyone!

We have two different contracts (AKV and BLT). We have a stay in March already booked at BLT in a 1 bedroom for the entire stay. We have 48 points on the AKV contract that will need to be used by the end of May 2023. Right now we could easily book the first night of our March stay with the AKV contract using up those 48 points and essentially have 2 reservations. Is there a way to make it so that we don't have to switch rooms once there? Not sure what the best way to do this is since the contracts are different UY's too so not sure if we can move points between them or not.

Sure, just contact the resort a week or so out and they can link the reservations.

Contracts are not the same things as member numbers. If you have two member numbers, like I do, they're like different people. They can't link or merge. They can leave notes, and they don't want to pay someone to clean the room, so it should work. I've done it almost every trip without issue, but these weren't super limited rooms.

Booking times matter here as well. You can't book a 7+ mo then swap in some other points, or everyone would just book with BC and swap in their SSR.

Meant two different member numbers. We are within 7 months for the March trip to be able to use the AKV points. So I guess what I can do is grab the first day with my AKV account and modify the other reservation to remove the first day. And then just call the resort the week before to see if they can make a note so that they don't move our room.

You could also call MS and ask to transfer the AKV points to your other membership, then they or you can modify your trip with them.

You can make the note now and call again when you're there. I do this all the time and have never moved, because they don't want to pay someone to clean two rooms. This is a request that is rarely denied, but it could happen.

I wouldn't move points around for this, I do it all the time and it isn't an issue.

I thought about that possibility. Is that doable with 2 different membership numbers?

Yes, that what a transfer is for, to move points from one membership to another. I've done that with my two membership numbers.

It could be an issue when the points are already banked, but in my case they even transferred my banked points to the other membership. They just cleared it with a supervisor first.

Thanks I'll save the call to move points around for this and will do what you recommend

We have two member numbers. Have often used them both for one trip in the same room category by reserving one part of the trip under one member number and the remaining part under the other member number, and that has included trips where the first reservation was made 11-months out and the second one 7-months out because the points were from a different resort.

Once both reservations were made (by phone before there existed an online reservation system and by use of the online reservation system since then), I sent an email to MS, providing both member numbers and both reservation numbers and requesting that the reservations be linked. MS eventually sent an email confirming that had been done. On arrival date, and when checking in (or now once in the room by calling if I have done pre-trip check-in), I remind the front desk that I have the two connected reservations. The result: over a period of many years, we have never had to change rooms. A number of years ago, I used to be required to go to the front desk on turnover day and do a pseudo check-out and check-in for the same room, but that has not been required of me for at least the last six years.

Thanks I'll make sure to do all of that :)
