Hello

My DH, Myself, DD (8), DD (5) are making our first real trip to Disney in just 40 days! We have 6 days of tickets to use over 9 days (non park hoppers). I was originally thinking of 2 days MK, 2 days Epcot, 1 AK, and 1 day in HS with a two days of parks/1 day off patten.

I have been going through the attractions with my family to plan out FP+ reservations and must dos on our plans. As we are going through, it seems like there are so many more things to do in MK than Epcot. In addition, my DD wants to meet several princesses and my son wants to do Sorcerers of the MK.

Should we switch to 1 day in Epcot and 3 in MK? Is that too much for one park? Is Epcot doable in 1 day?

Thanks in advance!!

For my family ( DH, myself, DD (6), DS(2) Epcot is doable in 1 day. We usually go for a 7 day/6 night stay and 3 days MK , 1 day at each other park & other day varies between water park, hotel time & DTD or Universal Studios.

With 2 DD, meeting all the princesses (assuming no meal and lots of lines), you could definitely do 3 days at MK. We did 3 days on our last trip. We only did a few rides twice and still didn't do everything! And we spent quite a bit of each day at the parks. I think you could easily fill 3 days with MK.

On the flip side, there are MANY princess meet and greets at Epcot should you choose to want more time there. In fact, Mulan only meets in China at Epcot. You can also meet Jasmine, Belle, Snow White, Alice, Mary Poppins, and not sure if I'm leaving anybody out. However, you can meet all of those at MK as well.

You can meet Anna and Elsa, Merida, and Rapunzel only at MK.

Also at MK, there is a pirate tutorial that is a lot of fun that your son might like.
Agent P adventures may be liked by all at Epcot.

So, yes, there is far more to do at MK. However, Epcot can be a lot of fun and you can easily spend plenty of time there as well. However, for the princess lover, MK is definitely the place to go.

You don't have to decide now - I'd recommend keeping your options open.

Everyone is different, and likes different things. What one family loves, might not b your cup of tea. There's no way to know in advance what you'll like best (and, to be honest, no real way for anyone else to know, either! So hard to give advice to others in situations like this.).

I'd say plan for your first two days at MK, and leave that other day "unassigned", so you can decide later what you want to repeat. You might end up loving Epcot!

Anna and Elsa are only at Epcot, Norway. Reports are if you dont have breakfest at Askersuh(spelling) and one of your party is outside at 830. Or your not sprinting at rope drop then your looking at 2.5-5 hour wait.
There are just as many princesses and characters at Epcot as there is at MK. I would do 2 and 2. Keep a good eye on the meet and greet times, some characters are only there for a few hours then new ones come to the same spot. IE Alice and Mary Poppins both in England and rarely at the same time./

We had the same debate for our trip starting next week... We ended up deciding to do three MK and 1 at the other 3....

But Anna and Elsa are moving To the MK on April 20th, which will be before the OP gets there.

Op, we are doing 2 MK, 1EP, 1 HS, 1AK and the. Our last day will probably be a combo of AK, EP and MK. EP is our least favorite park and we'd only go the last day to get a few souvenirs and do a few quick world showcase things. My kids prefer the rides and experiences at MK.

We are hoping to do 2 and 2. Epcot has so many fun things to do, and there are MANY characters to see, with a little less of wait on some. We actually decided to cancel our AR for one of the princess dinners, so we could eat around the world instead.

Thank you all for your ideas! I really appreciate it. I think we are going to decide when we are down there after we have visited both. I have a feeling that we will end up at MK for 3 days.

We do have FP+ for Anna/Elsa, Ariel, Cinderella, and Rapunzel at MK which are the princesses that she wants to meet.

If it were me I would stick to your original plan because I love Epcot so much and it is huge, a lot of ground to cover in just one day.

That is a very difficult question. I could easily spend multiple days in both parks. For our family, we spend the extra time in MK. But I know there is no wrong answer!

We normally do 2 MK and 2 Epcot, 1 DHS, and 1AK. If we have one extra day it would probably go to MK or DHS. Which you should do depends a lot on:
- what do you want to do at the parks - rides/attractions, meet and greets, dining?
- where will you be staying - if you're more convenient to one park, that might drive my decision
- do the kids have favorites or things they're really looking forward to seeing/doing - that might sway me one way or another.

Or, you could take the easy way out and get park hoppers and do both.

If it were me I'd add another park day on my tickets, its only $10 per person.

I can't imagine only giving Epcot one day. It's massive. It's beautiful, and it's not something you want to rush through. We tend to run out of steam at magic kingdom way before Epcot.

That being said, if just going from ride to ride is what is important and your trip isn't about just enjoying the ambiance and soaking in the environment, then I suppose magic kingdom is better.

Think about it though... Epcot has the land pavilion which is awesome. It has the seas with nemo and friends aquarium. It has test track, spaceship earth, and several other worthwhile attractions in future world. Then you have 9 countries to explore in the showcase. And illuminations. Epcot is far larger than magic kingdom. Don't shaft Epcot.
