I'm trying to get my best friend to read them because my husband's response was " you got Harry Potter, I even dressed up to get the book- forget it!"

I figure even for young adult books, you get back from them what you put into them......HA! I have my Edward- now I just gotta convince him that we need THAT much tension........(hubba hubba!)

First off, I think Stephanie Meyer has created the perfect situation with the Twilight story. She creates this amazing hero and because of the nature of this hero, she can change the rules at will. There are no human limitations with edward. He can appear, disappear, move away, come back, live forever and be the most beautiful man who ever lived, along with his beautiful family because they're vampires. these stories suck you in so deeply that you're not merely suspending disbelief, it almost makes you believe it. She's brilliant.

Secondly, the wonderful smell that the Cullens' have, I'm surprised no one has tried to create a perfume/cologne inspired by the descritions in the books. In New Moon, it's mentioned a few times that the Cullens have this sweet, intoxicating scent. Even Jacob describes their scent as sweet and icy.
Anyway, just some musings as i'm re reading the series. I'm about three quarters of the way through new Moon!
How many of you all have read it more than once??

I read your post earlier today and it has stuck with me most of the day.

I've been trying to imagine what this smell would be to me. You had some very powerful thoughts there.

I've read them twice. However I haven't read the last book twice. Just once.

I would n't mind starting them again, but I have way toooo much homework at the moment.

Actually, there are plans for a Twilight scent to be released soon -- I spoke with a manager at Hot Topic who said there are TONS of new things that will be coming soon, and a perfume/cologne is included. I hope it smells amazing and not like some awful Designer Imposters gak.

I've only read the series once (plowed through all four in a little over a week), but I'm planning to start again to prepare for the movie release!

I'm not sure. We're going to be in Disneyland for the very first time ever. I am excited for the trip but bummed that I have to wait to see the movie-how sick is that??

I feel exactly like you do!!! I hope Im not in the World and the only thing I can think about is getting home so I can see it. If they had a midnight opening the night before that would soooo rock!!!1

It normally depends on the individual theatre and how much of a demand they think there is. So... get everybody you know to call your theatre requesting it!

There is a movie theater in DtD! Every time a Harry Potter movie was released we were at WDW and you bet we were watching it at at DtD!!! I couldn't wait to see it at home even if I was at WDW. If I was at WDW when Twilight came out there is no way I could wait!

That was soooooooo good.

I love his voice. He does a great American accent. I think I am really liking her as Bella as well.

You don't get to see too much of the other characters though. The apple part was a surprise and a nice homage to the book cover.

I also taped ET tonight to watch what they have on as well.
