Not being snarky, but that isn't the latest scoop. That is what has been up on her webpage for a while.

The latest scoop is (and I quote her homepage here):

If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.


She did put up a link to the 264 page manuscript, which can be found on her homepage.

I'm guilty about having downloaded it, I was regretting it before I even downloaded it. I'm too weak when it comes to these characters and story. But, I knew this would be coming at a point. Stephenie makes HER own decisions, she doesn't take crap from anyone, not even her fans. In the end, I agree with her. We deserved this. And as an author myself I would've been dissapointed and would've done the same. It's sad to see the Stephenie hate come back after this statement.

I feel the same way that you do. I really couldn't help myself-I am so addicted to these characters. I feel horrible that Stephenie is so sad-I loved what she wrote in the draft. I posted a message for her on another site telling her how much I love her and that I would buy and read anything she published. I feel like I am in mourning. I was horrified to read some of the hate on Amazon about Midnight Sun before her statement. Why do people have to be so hateful? I guess people feel very passionately about her work on both sides of the argument.

Hi my fellow Twilight lovers!!

I found this thread about a week ago but it took me a few days to read all 129 pages and watch all the videos!! Thanks so much for all the information!!
Anyhow, I just finished all four books last week and I absolutely fell in love with them!! Thanks again Krysstn!! I just turned 32 in July and these books have me desperately wishing I was 17 again!! And that's just the start of it...
I lost about 10 pounds while reading (no joke!), cried like Edward had actually left me and not Bella, called in sick to work 2 days in a row because I couldn't handle not knowing what happened next and now have a doctor's appointment this Tuesday to make sure I don't need something to lift me out of the fog. Not sure exactly why the books affected me as much as they did but until I discovered this thread and TwilightMoms.com, I had really thought I'd lost my mind!! As did the fiance and some of my friends!! I was glad to know I wasn't the only one who might need post Twilight Therapy!!!

I'm paniced over the whole Midnight Sun incident!! After reading the 1st chapter, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!! I didn't think it could get any better than Twilight but then hearing it from Edward is "the best of all possible worlds!!!" I resisted downloading the leak as I really would rather know I still have something to look forward to...besides the movie! I really hope she can get back to it soon. If I was her, I don't know how I could stay away from it!!

Anyway, sorry for the long post but I have so much to get off my chest! I'm heading over to the Breaking Dawn Spoiler thread now to quench my 'thirst' some more! lol.

BTW, I'm absolutely Team Edward and a total Cullenist!! I think I would give anything to be a Cullen!!

I wonder why they can't show Rachelle's photos they took?? The one poster, in the Day 2 thread, said that on Day 3 there will be pictures of Rob, but they can't post Rachelle's pictures since she wasn't supposed to get off the bus...or something like that.

Hi, I've never posted to this thread but have been a long time lurker. My friend got my into Twilight a few weeks ago (I thought it was just another dumb vampire book and was too busy re-reading Harry Potter at first to care), but once I picked it up I went through the stereotypical 'don't put it down until its finished then go grab the next ones'.

I was a little let down by Breaking Dawn, but I think my experience last night made me appreciate the book far more.

I had a dream that I was reading Breaking Dawn (except it was written by Terry Gilliam for some reason) and it ended with Bella being watched by Charlotte and Peter, who turned on her and invited Victoria (I know, already taken care of before but it was a dream). So Victoria comes and is about to kill Bella when all of a sudden there is a voice that says 'don't you touch her'. Then the book just went ...

The final paragraphs had Bella walking around with an ex-bf of hers who looked strangely like Logan from the Gilmore Girls. They were just talking and laughing normally and then the book ended.

I was horrified that the book ended that way, I figured Edward had been killed by Victoria so Bella had moved on with a former human bf. I spent the rest of the dream writing desperate pleas on Twilight message boards asking if I somehow had a fake copy of the book. Then I woke up and was so freaked out I couldn't fall asleep for half an hour.

I think the dream was trying to tell me that my recent obsession has gone a bit too far. What do you guys think?

I am reading the first one, Twilight, and wondering HOW DID I MISS THESE BOOKS???? I ordered the next 2 via BOTMC for $9.95 each, and can hardly wait to read them all! What a great esy book to read, a 17 year old at my job turned me on to these, and than I saw this post on the DIS and KNEW I was missing out on something GOOD!

Wow, I didn't even know about all this hubub around Midnight Sun. I guess that's what happen when you go back to law school and neglect your constant and slightly maniacal obession with all things Twilight. I do hope she gets over this with time and decides to finish and publish Midnight Sun. Poor Stephanie...seems like its been a rough summer for her.

I really enjoyed The Host. It is very different from Twilight, no vampires. It has a definite love story, a different feel. The beginning is a tad slow, but it picked up and I was carried away.

It deals with aliens, but it doesn't overwhelm you with sci-fi tech.

It has a good, solid ending, so that if she decides to not write additional books relating to this storyline, you're left feeling that you have a completed story. But you can see that if she wanted to, there are more tales that could be told.

I ADORE The Host. In it's own world, I may even like it more than the Twilight series...

It's a completely different book, the plot is great, the story is great and it really gets you thinking about a lot of issues with humanity. So I say it's a must read.

This sucks. I feel horrible for Stephenie and wholly guilty that I took part in the "stealing" of Midnight Sun. On an admittedly selfish note, I hate that she is putting MS on hold indefinitely.
