Hi all -- thought I'd stop lurking and introduce myself!

I've just become obsessed with the Twilight series... I only picked up Twilight a week and a half ago, and finished Breaking Dawn about half an hour ago.

I haven't read through this whole thread yet, but it's nice to see that there are others out there who feel like I do! I'm soooooooooo looking forward to the movie, I can hardly stand it! Thank goodness it's been moved up. :hyper:

Oh, and for the record..

TEAM EDWARD!!!

Welcome to the thread:)

I'm Team Edward too:thumbsup2

This is very exciting news! Getting my Edward fix even sooner! Yay!

Count me as a new fan. Picked up the series because my DD wanted to read it and I wanted to make sure it wasn't too mature (it's not). I am addicted. To the point I have refused to pick up the last two books and start (it's killing me). I am in the last stage of a kitchen remodel I have to work on, plus re-organizing kid bedrooms before school start and school shopping. I don't have time to immerse myself into those last two books until at least school starts next WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I haven't read this entire thread fearing there might be spoilers for the last two books. Could you tell me when the movie is suppose to come out?

I told DD she could skip school that day and we'd go see it. I have NEVER allowed the kids to ever skip school. Are the pages of this book laced with a drug?????:lmao:

I am very disappointed that HP was moved to July. We were really looking forward to it. WB decided to move it to next July for money reasons, since WB exceeded what they thought they would make with Dark Knight - they decided to push the HP movie to July the Hot blockbuster month. They feel that HP Half Blood Prince will do very well and probably exceed what Order of the Phoenix made which was also a summer release. Twilight was moved only because WB moved HP. This will be good for Twilight as they no longer have to compete with Harry Potter but there are some major movies coming out during the Nov/Dec time frame it will be up against.

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with Dark Knight, and money of course. I am really, really bummed about HP not coming out until next year. I wonder if they will move the first half of Deathly Hallows back as well, or if we could possibly see two HPs released in 2009. :confused3

I am, however, excited about Twilight coming out a little earlier. I hope the movie does well so that we can see the rest of the series brought to life.

It's now November 21st, and yes the books are laced with a drug. It's the newest thing to hit the market. It goes by one name, and one name only - Edward.

Is your first day at Disney kind of open, or are booked solid? If your schedule is kind of open, maybe you could sneak to the theatre in DTD to see it? That would be cool - seeing Twilight at Disney. Best of both worlds. :)

For now Part 1 of Deathly Hallows is scheduled for Nov '10 and part 2 will be May '11 so by moving Half Blood Prince to July'09 it does make the wait shorter between HBP and DH.

I am excited for Twilight too:thumbsup2 By having the date move up it does take alittle sting out of the HP move.

Hi and Welcome to our world:thumbsup2 How old is your DD? You may want to be sure to read Breaking Dawn before she does. My DD will be 12 in Oct and she wants to start Twilight - I will let her read that one before the movie however she will have to wait to read BD because of some of the content.

The new date is the old date for HP, therefore , now Twilight is on my birthday. At which point I will be in NYC. -.-

Ah well. I shall see it when i return.

Why must all movies come out on my birthday?!

Well, you all convinced me to read it. Now that I have finished rereading Harry Potter I started Twilight yesterday. I'm about halfway through and so far I am pleasantly surprised. I figured it would be entertaining, but I wasn't expecting a page turner. I stayed up til 5 am because I couldn't put it down! :scared1: I do sort of wish that I hadn't seen the second trailer because now I know they are fighting hunters (something the preface eluded to) but it's still a good book. I think I will have to pick up the others in the series very soon.

I am in the same boat as you. My DD will be 13 in December and I have told her I would let her read Twilight soon but Breaking Dawn would have to wait for a few years!!!:thumbsup2

I went out to dinner at the dining lodge of our state park and brought my book with me. I got so wrapped up in it that instead of going home I went and sat on a bench at the edge of the lake and read until I finished it. All I can say is...wow!

I picked up the rest of the books at Hastings and decided to read a bit of New Moon. I made myself stop at the end of the chapter in which Bella opens Edward's birthday gift. I'm off to take out the puppies and then dive back into the book! I can't wait.
