Am I the only looser husband out there that is watching the kids while his wife goes out with the "girls" to stand in line with every 13 year old in the world at 11:30 tonight to watch the 11:59 showing of new moon?...........just me?:rolleyes1, great.

I contend that if every husband was out there waiting in line to watch a movie with some super babe then moms and wifes all over the country would be outraged.:thumbsup2...this movie and it's attention it's recieved seem pretty ridiculous to me...thoughts...flame suit (on):check:thumbsup2

I totally agree with you! I'm not a guy, though, so I don't qualify as a loser husband. ;)

But seriously, the books are written at a 4.4 grade level!

I don't understand why so many adults are reading books meant for 9-12 year olds? And seriously.. the guys in the movie are not THAT cute.

I'm not a man, but I don't get it either. :confused3

A librarian once told me that most fiction is written at jr high level or below. Sometimes it's just enjoyable to read something we don't have to think about. Did'd realize every book I read should be checked for it's reading level.

Please excuse typos...typing from the theater waiting for m Twilight/New Moon double feature to start . ;D

Funny, I agree about the books...not so much about twilight though...I love the Peter and the Starcatchers series, from Disney...P.S. say "hi" to my wife, hopefully she is not the one taking her bra off and throwing it at the screen towards this Edward guy!...and tell her we need milk, get it on her way home.

:rotfl:

I don't get it either. I'm not a guy either. It is all just so weird to me.

I didn't get it either.....until I started reading. That was less than two weeks ago. Last night, I finished the fourth book. Today I finished the partial draft of the to be finished Midnight Sun.

Yes, I am 28 years old and I am a Twilight addict. I saw Twilight the movie last Friday night and am re-watching it tonight. And I'm dying to see New Moon but I have no babysitter until Dec. 7th when I'm off of work and DD8 has school.

Pick up the book and try to stop reading....I couldn't.

How in world are you going to stay awake? I can't even go to a 9:00 movie anymore. No matter how good it is, I fight to stay awake. Glad I'm not into it! Have fun!

Double feature!!! I've been robbed!

... and the actors may not be of the Brad Pitt/Johnny Depp variety, but the Edward I created in my head is a H-H-HOTTY!!!

I majored in Creative Writing at my Performing Arts High School, and have a degree in English. I loved the books, not for the literary genius they were ('cause they weren't), but for the superb story I became a part of. It's like 'The Neverending Story' times 10!

I would try but now I think i'm too biased to really enjoy it.........I rented Transformers and Star Trek for after baths and bedtime for the girls....NOW THERE'S ENTERTAINMENT:thumbsup2

Loved most of the books. Would have been better if written for adults. However, like a pp I love the Edward in my mind. Talk about hot. I dare any red-blooded woman to not be dazzled:love::love::love:.

Twilight (the movie) was utter garbage. A pimple on the buttocks of filmmaking. Everything about the movie as attrocious (IMHO of course). I hope New Moon is an upgrade (though I can't possibly see how it could be worse). I'm going to see it...a matinee...while school is in session...without the screaming fangirls and soccer moms. Maybe the week after Thanksgiving.

The books told a compelling story, despite the many MANY flaws.

I am not a Twilight widow, but almost all of my students cancelled their lessons this weekend so they could go to the movie. So Twilight is actually robbing me of income! hehehehe!

I would hate to think that Stephenie Meyer wrote this purely for young adults/teens. From what I've read of her, she dreamt of a couple laying in a meadow and the man was sparkling. It inspired the whole story.

And FYI Edward is a major hottie.....I would love my own personal Edward...just don't tell DBF. :rotfl2:

Opinion is just that. I enjoyed the movie. Loved the book and thought the movie did a great job of portraying the book with the limited time available. Can't wait to see New Moon!

You are definitely not the only one. I've read the books several times and enjoyed them, but I'm not planning on standing in line at midnight to see New Moon - know lots of married moms who will be there, though. Me and my DH will go see it together, next week sometime maybe.

Check out this blog - a support group for twilight widowers!

Yeah the girls in office and my female friends have been constantly talking about going to see this movie :confused3

I do hear actress Christian Serratos is pretty hot in the movie.

She's def sexy in that new PETA poster that she appears in...sans clothing :banana::rolleyes1

I really enjoyed the books, didn't think I would but gave them a shot. I read them all over the course of last November/December.

I did not see Twilight in the theater and I do not own it but I enjoyed it. DH offered to get me tickets to see New Moon and take me sometime but I doubt I'll take him up on it. I can wait for it to be out on DVD. I'd like to see it but I have better things to do with my time right now with DH and DS then see that, especially at midnight. I love my sleep too much!

LOL You must be talking about my loser dh. Although he isn't a total loser. He took the 5 year old to McDs for dinner. :) I took my other two boys (11&15) with me to see both movies. :3dglasses:3dglasses:3dglasses We had a blast with all the other soccer moms and 13 year olds.;)

Saturday is dh's turn with the older boys. He does something I don't understand either......getting up at 3/4 in the morning and trekking out in the cold to hunt down some poor deer. LOL I don't get that but what ever floats his boat. :rotfl:
