That's what we did last time, Gill. It hardly seems worth checking in the night before if you're then going to have to queue again to check in an overnight bag (even if it's possible - I didn't think it was, but it sounds as though some have done that). When we got to check-in in October, the queues for Economy were horrendous - completely blocking the hall which houses the Virgin desks. We were hugely relieved that we had priority check-in. There was a queue for PE (something we've never really experienced before), but even taking that into account and the line for security, we were probably done in around 30 minutes. I dread to think how long some people must have been waiting.Yes we are flying PE, so would you just check in on the day? I was hoping to get rid of all our cases but it sounds as though we'll have to keep them with us at the Sofitel.
I live about an hour from gatwick, I've never used twilight checkin before. is it worth me driving there the evening before to cut down on the hassle the next day? does everybody travelling have to be present or can I go alone with all our cases and five passports.
I have been told our seats are assigned on checkin as we are travelling with an infant so it benefits us to check in as early as possible.
We also live close by but this year have chosen to stay the night before using twilight check in. We figure it reduces stress and worry about missing the flight, gets rid of the luggage and avopefully will avoid a long time in queues and of course we start our holiday a day early!!!

Really, I had a thought that I could drive to gatwick when the kids go to bed, check us all in and come home. next day we could pile into cab sans cases and yay life is easy!!!
do you know if I can check in my whole group?
Jo.
