Tweeking or Changing ADRs - when's the best time?

Would like to change a Chef Mickeys dinner time ADR and hope for a dinner opening at Ohana for our trip Aug 20 - 27th

Any opinions or experiences of when to call to see if any cancellations have been made? I've been told the 45 day mark a bunch of openings appear because people cancel plans before final payment is due. Are their ADRs automatically cancelled for those people that do this? I've also been told to just keep calling, which a real pain in the you know what...

It would be nice to just get these settled and move on...

I don't know when the best time is but my day was the frenzy time of 1st day free dining and it was mad. I had to switch one and cancel another and got through 1st time and got ohana for dinner was stoked as it was a great time and for a party of 8

I would call any chance I get throught out the day to get what I wanted.
