TV Show flubs, quirks, mishaps & irony

Just thought of another one. Also Roseanne. On the show she had an amnio and they found out her child was a girl. Then, it ended up being a boy.

Here is another roseanne one. in the first episode the little brother was a different actor. What happened to him?

As a nurse...I get a kick out of all the medical scenes in soap operas....20 something year old people who's eyes roll back and their monitor goes flat line and no one does CPR! They just say, "Sorry, they're gone." LMAO

Or people with major head trauma or accidents that have little nasal oxygen on instead of being hooked up to life support.

And let us not forget how almost every pregnant woman goes into labor in a remote cabin without a telephone in a major thunderstorm!

This is something that has bothered me for years. No one on television ever looks up a phone number... they know them all.

Another Little House on the Prarie observation...

Seems like Leslie Landon, Michael Landon's real life daughter, is on as a different extra in just about every episode! Just the other day she was on as a plague victim, she was also Laura's co-worker in a restaurant in the city, and then she showed up again a year or two later as Miss Plum, the teacher who replaced Laura when she left teaching. These are only a few of the roles I can think of offhand, but I know there were more. Seems to me there was some nepotism going on on that prarie too!

Another thing that always bothered me about the show are the church scenes. Every time they show people in church, it's always the Ingalls family, the Oleson's and whatever family that week's episode happens to focus on. That's it! Like, whatever happened to the rest of the people in the town, are the Ingalls and the Olesons the only ones who go to church regularly? ;)

To move on to another show, did anyone ever see the episode of ER when one of the doctors called Dr. Carter (Noah Wylie) Noah instead of Carter?

Love this thread!

In Family Matters...Daughter Judy goes upstairs and never came back down after second season.

Boy Meets World...why did they bother having Morgan the sister on there...they even made a quip about it on one of the last shows...

On Full house...i think when they made the story about Steph getting her ear peirced the excuse for the already pierced ears she had was that she was wearing clip ons.

I've gotten to the point that I know West Wing by heart, but they've made a couple pretty basic screw ups with geography:

1 - The gunmen that tried to assassinate the president at the end of season one (ok, they were shooting for Charley, whatever :) ) were members of "West Virginia White Pride"....and the show later said that their headquarters were in Blacksburg....Which, not coincidentally, is the home of Virginia Tech University...Kinda odd for West Virginia White Pride not to be located in West Virginia, isn't it ?

2 - Toby is talking to Sam from the phone on Air Force 1 and Sam says "I'm going to guess where you are right now"...He then gives a long explanation for why he believes them to be over "Cumberland West Virginia"....which would be some feat, considering Cumberland is in Maryland.

3 - On the episode where they thwart a terrorist attack on the Golden Gate, one of the early targets was feared to be Ft. Myer Army Base in Maryland (which they showed to be just east of the White House on a large national map). Well, Ft Myer is in VIRGINIA...Arlington, to be exact, and is just WEST of the White House, but by so small a margin that it wouldn't even show on a national map...

It killed me that such a well written show should include errors that would have taken, oh, a bout a minute and a half's research to avoid

During a local newscast, one of the reporters microphones was turned off while he was talking. The anchorwoman said, "His (fill in this space with the naughtiest of all words.) mic isn't on." Unfortunately for her, hers was on...

She left the station not too long after that...

#1. In this episode, Sandra's boyfriend came to take her back to college and his name was Daryl. This same guy in later episodes was Martin- Denise's husband.

My 8 year old daughter spotted this the other night, she couldn't figure out why Denise's husband was going out with Sandra. I had to explain to her that they probably like the man as an actor and wanted him to come back, she was just looking at me like I had 2 heads.

Yeah I caught this. Thought it was just me at the time...glad it wasnt :)

In the first few episodes of the Cosby show, the house is COMPLETELY different (at least the interior shots!) including a large dining room behind the kitchen (where we all know the stairs are that lead to the upper level)

Did you ever notice how all TV sitcom families seem to have a staircase in the kitchen as well as another main staircase such as in Full House, Cosby Show, Boy Meets World -- etc.

OK just thought of another thing that bothers me, when the characters are in bed they always have all these coordinating pillows and pillow shams propped up under their heads - now nobody sleep like that in real life.

And when they open gifts, they never tear off the paper, the lid always lifts off and is wrapped separately.

My husband thinks I'm nutty because I am always pointing out inconsistencies like this in movies!! Did you all know that there are several continuity issues like this in the Wizard of Oz.... mostly because they started filming with one director, stopped filming, made some changes, got another director, and continued filming. Most noticeably in the scene where Dorothy is meeting/singing/dancing with the Scarecrow, as I believe that was the first scene filmed.

Also there are a few good ones in the movie Pretty Woman.... in one of the scenes where they are getting "warm and fuzzy" his tie is on-then it's off-then it's on again!

I love stuff like this!!.........................P

In "the Goodbye Girl" there's a scene where she's in the bathtub and drinking a coke.

in the long shots, the coke can is at the end of the tub near her feet. but in the close ups the can is near her head.

I was watching Cosby last night too but didn't pick up on the Daryl/Martin connection.

On Roseanne, the first episode featuring David, Becky's boyfriend Mark's brother, his name was not David. I can't remember what it was but it was definately NOT David.

I just saw this episode not to long ago. They introduced him as Kevin.

My dh and I were watching a movie this morning where some guy got stabbed in a pool. There was blood all over the knife but not a drop in the pool.

In the first episode of Friends, Ross' wife was played by another girl.

I like how in all the Law & Order's the same people come back to play different characters. One episode they are a victim, the next a lawyer.

Look! That crack ho got some smarts!

Used to get on my nerves, but I like it now. I feel all special that I recognize them. ;)

Oh, you guys will LOVE this website!!!

Movie Mistakes

Titanic is FULL of 'em!!! :)

On the Andy Griffith Show, the same actor kept showing up as a different character. One time he was a criminal who Barney let escape from jail then Andy and Barney had to hunt him down. On the episode where Ernest T. Bass wants to join the Army, he is the Army recruiter. On another episode, he is a crook who sells Barney a piece of junk car. In yet another episode when Barney and Andy go to Raleigh, he is a detective there. Whew! That guy got around! It was also the same actor who played Sam the Butcher on the Brady Bunch.
