TV Show flubs, quirks, mishaps & irony

the Partridge Family -- Chris was a dark haired boy the first season, then he went blonde. they didn't even try to get another boy who looked like the first actor.

in the original Star Trek, William Campbell played a Klingon captain in one episode and also played Trelaine, an alien with superhuman powers.

Also, Mark Lenard played a Romulan Capt. in one episode, Spock's father in another episode, and a Klingon in Star Trek The Motion Picture.

On Seinfeld, Jerry's father was played by a different actor in a first season episode.

In the first few episodes of the Cosby show, the house is COMPLETELY different (at least the interior shots!) including a large dining room behind the kitchen (where we all know the stairs are that lead to the upper level)

Actually, in the first episode of the Cosby the kitchen is the same, but the living room is different. In one scene, they're in the kitchen when someone opens the door to the living room, you can see it's the 'real' living room. The one that was used later, the one that we would all recognize.

I believe, it was mentioned that they had 4 children in the first episode (or at least at some point.) Also, I think Claire was originally supposed to be a stay-at-home-mom. But, later changed her to a lawyer to make them more "upper class". That was when they got the fancier living room.

On Chuck, Chuck was played at least two actors during the first season and second season.

Everybody loves Raymond. The twins have different names in the first episode.

MASH - Only Radar is the same actor from the movie and the TV Series.

Dallas - The part of the mother was cast with Barbra Bell Gedes, replaced by Donna Reed, who was replaced by Barbra Bellgedes.

Another West Wing goof...they had that report of the terrorist entering the US from Canada...claimed they had crossed the Ontario border into Vermont....no can do !

vettechick99

about Law and Order.....I saw a play on Broadway a few years ago, in the program bios, it listed one of the actresses as.........frequent offender on L & O

I forgot about Dallas!

My Three Sons -- in its original incarnation, the oldest boy was Mike and they lived with their grandfather. Mike got married and moved to California and was never heard from again! and Grandpa morphed into Uncle charlie, no explanation offered.

On Bonanza, Adam went on a trip to San Francisco and was never mentioned again.

Still want to know where Chuck Cunnngham went

It's my belief that he did some crime of insanity, why else would they not invite him to his siblings weddings......

Oooh..I thought of another one...

On shows like Cosby and Full House the exterior shots show that they live in townhomes/rowhomes, but on the interior of the homes they have windows where the other unit would be

On Cosby it's behind the stairway in the living room, and on Full House it's in the kitchen. Craziness!

I love this thread!

On the FRIENDS episode when Ross' son, Ben, is born, the nurse that helped the girl Joey befriended is also the same actress that played his agent, Estelle.

While watching a few episodes of Full House today I realized that in some of the older episodes Uncle Jesse's last name is Cochrane and in the newer episodes his last name is Katsapolis (sp?) Wonder why it changed??

I'm still trying to figure out one thing about Roseanne

Becky's husband does not have a accent but I saw the same actor on Angel and he spoke with a major accent

the running joke in our house while watching SG:SG1 is to name what other characters an extra 1 has appeared as. I guess they only have 5 extras in the entire country of Canada, and 1/2 of those are executives on the show and are related to Dom DeLouse.

On M*A*S*H the same 2 or 3 Asian actors showed up as different characters.

also on M*A*S*H the lady in the pic of col Potters wife is Lorretta Swit (Maragaret Houlihan) made up to look older.

Actually the actor who played the grandfather[William Frawley who played Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy] died in real life. At first they were going to end the show but decided to carry on with Uncle Charlie coming to stay for a while until grandpa came back. Of course grandpa never came back.

As for Adam, Pa sent him off to London to get educated. Actually the actor tried to get a better contract, so the producers fired him.

There was a show called "The Greatest American Hero" about a school teacher who got a super hero's outfit from some passing aliens but lost the operations manual for it.

Well in the early days of the series his name was Mr. Hinkley, until the Hinkley guy tried to assasinate President Reagan, then they changed the characters name on the show.

Another disappearing character. King of Queens....the very first episode, Carrie's father's house burned down. That is how he came to live with her. BUT...she had a sister. Her and her sister fought over who was going to take dad....don't know if she disowned her, but never another mention of the sister. POOF.

Law and Order..the woman who plays the Captain..in an earlier episode, she was actually a single mother, poor and either the victim of a crime. or a suspect. When I saw her, I thought, "boy she's come along way baby!"

Still wondering what happened to Bonnie's daughter..poor girl.

There are two that come from the pilot episode of the Brady Bunch....

if you remember, the girls had a cat; a tabby named Fluffy. Tiger got out of the Bradys' car to chase Fluffy and caused all the havoc that followed. What ever happened to Fluffy? Did Tiger catch her?

Also, when Mike and Carol take their wedding vows Mike's middle name is Paul. When they brought out the show the Bradys a few years ago, Mike ran for city council and Peter introduced him at a rally as Michael Thomas Brady.

Actually, that's because Peter DeLuise is a director/writer/producer for the show. He's the reason Dom, Michael and David DeLuise were all on the show.

On the Andy Griffith Show, the same actor kept showing up as a different character. One time he was a criminal who Barney let escape from jail then Andy and Barney had to hunt him down. On the episode where Ernest T. Bass wants to join the Army, he is the Army recruiter. On another episode, he is a crook who sells Barney a piece of junk car. In yet another episode when Barney and Andy go to Raleigh, he is a detective there. Whew! That guy got around! It was also the same actor who played Sam the Butcher on the Brady Bunch.

I was going to mention this one. However, I did not remember all the different characters. I just remembered that the same actor kept showing up as different characters.
