Anyone know the cost of renting a tux onboard (adults & kids)?

Also, do you think it's worth the price vs. bringing a suit along?

Thanks everyone.

Here's the link to the tux rental co DCL uses:

We figure it will be easier and one unless thing to pack for us. Since we're flying down our luggage can only weigh 50lbs and we've had trouble before with our bags being to heavy (mostly due to the fact our bags are heavy without anything in them). We're going with the classic black and also the vest with tie set. DH is going to bring his shiny black shoes and socks to wear.

Plus I really want a dressed up pic of us together on this cruise.

We do rent tux for DH and consider it well worth the $$ to not have to pack his suit. We fly also and weight is an issue. We do take a jacket for him to wear to Palo's, so another suit would just be too much for us. I do have to say that I looks quite nice all cleaned up and in a tux. :lovestruc

Thanks for the link Daisy. But I didn't see pricing for boys. Anyone know if it's the same or a little less. Thanks.

Here's what they say on their FAQ page:

Q. Do you rent tuxedos for children?

A. Tuxedos for children are available on a pre-order basis when embarking from most North American ports. Please call our customer service department to request information about your specific cruise. Tuxedos for children are not available on board for rentals or exchanges.

So I would call and ask them for pricing.

Pricing is same for kids as adults :( You do not have to wear tux or even suit/tie for that matter, but that is another thread....

Thanks. The incidentals (excursions, clothing, etc.) on this cruise are already adding up and we haven't even left port yet! Wasn't looking for to dropping 2 more C-notes on tux rentals for me and my 8yr old.

I've always worn a dress shirt and a tie on formal and semi formal nights. But on the next cruise I'm going for the tux. I would have liked DS to wear one too, but there "ain't no way" that's happening.

Cost to rent: $85 for the basic Black OR white
Black and White combo: $120
"extra" vests $15 or $20 depending

My DS would actually love to wear one. He thinks they're cool! :cool1: But I can't afford the price! We rented one for prom this year. Picked it up on Friday, wore it to prom on Saturday, to church on Sunday, returned it on Monday and it was $79 including shoes!

The last time someone asked tis question we ended up with about12 pages and some people got really flamed about what they was going to wear and where they should eat for that night. If you ask this question please have some popcorn and a lot of candy ready because it will be a long night. :scared:

I'm in for the long haul, how about you? :faint: :teeth:

For a child, you might be better off buying a tux on ebay rather than renting. I just bought one for my DS6 this evening for $20 + $5 shipping. For $25 he'll have his own tux (that I can shorten if needed) and I am going to get a great photo of him with Grandpa and Daddy in their tuxes!
