Tusker house in AK - walks in available (for breakfast in august?)

Hi all,

For our trip the last week of August (note free dining is going on at that time) we were thinking of not booking a breakfast and possibly just going to AK , we have gotten walk in breakfast no problem
At rainforest cafe, was wondering of this is also possible at tusker house?

Keep trying for a reservation if you want to eat there. You may find one as you get very close. People adjust their plans at the last minute - you may be able to snag one the day before.

I think a walk-in would be hard (especially as you saw with free dining which tends to pack in the table services places more than normal). If you want to do it I'd suggest trying to pick up a day of or day before ADR. It of course is not guaranteed but we've gotten day of breakfast ressies at Tusker House

if you don't get that ADR.... i would certainly inquire when i get there. We have walked up to Tusker House before for breakfast (late) and gotten seated.. granted it was not August, i think it was April timeframe.. hard to remember but I do know we have done it.. you just have to be willing to wait a bit.

There’s a big difference between the two restaurants. At Rainforest (not Disney-owned), Disney is only given a share of the total reservations. At Tusker House they control 100%. I think this makes walk-ins far less likely at Tusker House.

I wouldn’t count on it, especially during free dining. Tusker House is one of the more popular spots for breakfast on property. And I agree about Rainforest Cafe vs Tusker House in terms of being Disney owned and not.

If you are having a hard time getting an ADR, try touring plans reservation finder. Also, day before or day of ADRs are often easier to come by as people are rearranging their schedule.

If you want to do it, i would get an ADR. Especially if you want to do it before the park opens.
Walk up might work, but it is a very popular restaurant and often full.

Try for an ADR, earlier this year some friends walked up to Skippers Canteen which had a lot of open tables and were turned away. They got online in front of the hostess got an ADR and got seated right away.
