Turtle Talk With Crush--- Awesome, DUDE!

I saw this in January during a quick 2 day visit - went twice since it was so good. Oddly, I was at WDW 16 days in December and had no idea it existed - saw it on these boards.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I had a panic attack that day in the Living Seas, and Crush was a little tough due to my claustrophobia. A very sweet older CM snuck me in and escorted me out of the show, where I was asked to complete a survey.

I had a great time with the survey taker - we talked for about 20 minutes regarding the show and how it is so underpromoted. (A good thing with short lines, I can't imagine the line building during peak season) They are apparently looking at a larger venue, but I can't imagine how as that whole area was recently redone.

It's sad what has happened to Living Seas, and great that Nemo has revitalized it, but the intial queue area and waiting areas before the hydrolators really need to be reworked - wait in the queue, wait in the circular room, wait for a hydrolator, walk into the gift shop - oh, look - it's a fish!

Oh, I can't wait! I know my kids are going to dig Crush. :)

This is a must see! We loved it! Little kids can be funny at what they say anyways when they are put on the spot but Crush makes it even better! I laughed my butt off! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Is the Turtle like a puppet, or on a screen? What exactly is it? Also, how long is the show?

It's animated rear-projected to the screen. It's interactive with some preset loops. It's very impressive, especially if you think about the technology behind it (sound formant shaper, real-time lip-movemement capture and rendering).

Ocassionally it drops a frame or two, but nothing jarring unless you are looking for those things while trying to figure out the technology. I'm a gadget freak so I just gotta do it. It makes me appreciate the magic even more.

Crush pointed at my 4 year old and asked him if he had a question and my son told him he was a 'dork' and he was now grounded and should go to his room. I wanted to crawl in a deep hole at that point.

This show is a MUST, MUST see! We were a party of 6..Grandparents and all just loved it!!! Wish we had seen it twice!!! My DH asked the moderator at the end how it was done. He looked at him and said...It is really Crush! :wizard: Gotta love that Disney magic...

Really, you don't want to miss this show!!! ::MickeyMo

This show has got to be seen to be believed....it is that funny. :rotfl: We also stumbled on it, and were soooooooo glad we did! It was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip. We got in at the end of a seating, which proved to be great because all 3 of us (including DD14) were seated on the floor up front. We did not realize at the time that this is where you want to be if you want to really talk to Crush! My DD asked Crush how old he was, and he asked her how old she was! When she said "14", he wanted to know if she was studying for her SATs yet......her "surfing apptitude tests". We were howling. Later, Crush brought out some "human" things that he was curious about, and one was a bikini bathing suit top. The kids thought this was hilarious, as they tried to explain to a sea turtle what this was used for. He was not getting it, which made them laugh harder, at which point I said: "Crush, it's for dudettes!". He stopped, looked at me, and I swear blushed. The audience was roaring. We couldn't believe how funny it was. :rotfl2:

No doubt about it, it is a permanent favorite for us. :goodvibes I am amazed that Disney does not promote this more.....although for our sake, I guess I'm glad they don't!! ;)

We loved it! I went with my hubby and sister and we where first in line for the next show and I kept telling them how cool it was (I read about it here) and then some people started leaving the show!!! :confused3 so they where doubting it was that good, fortunatelly we went in there and had a blast! I loved it and then seeing all the Nemo fishes in the next room, I just have to say I loved the whole thing!!

Just curious.... What did Crush have to say to that?

DH and I will be first time empty nesters next year and are planning our first solo trip to Disney.....Will we feel out of place here?

It sounds so cute, I would really like to see it, but I don't want to take some poor kids spot!

I love these boards - I had never heard of this and now I have added it to my must-do's for May. Are there several shows daily?

We too, stumbled on this show, and absolutely loved it! We sat there trying to figure out how they did it, and my DD 6 got to ask a question--thankfully, an intelligent one! Will definitely be back to see it again. Had never heard of it, only went into the Living Seas because we were there with a friend who had never been to Epcot before.

And there was even a line to get into the Living Seas because of it! (No, we didn't stand in it, we came back later. . . no line later.)

....a LONG line when we went in to The Living Seas, too. I gues people were waiting to get to see "Crush"; it was hilarious( well worth the wait)! :teeth:

My DH did not want to go to this so he took a break while I went with DS and DD. The show was so great! After hearing us rave about it DH wants to see it the next time we return to WDW.

...cool about the show, is, it's never exactly the same each time you see it!

Crush was awesome. DS5 loved it. At the end of the show, Crush told the kids to call their parents "dude", assuring them that we would love it. DS took it to heart and wouldn't stop calling us dude for the next 3 days! Be warned! I just want to know how they did that!!
