Yes! That is the slinky dog! I'll have to find one for Aubrey. Maybe you could pick me up one SINCE YOU AT WDW RIGHT NOW:rotfl: i hope you are having a wonderful time with your friends. I can't wait to hear all about it. Let me know when you're back!

I'm BAAAACK! Actually I got back last night but was about as coherent as a toaster. In 3 nights I got about 12 hours of sleep - combined! It was a great trip though.

I SAW the slinky dogs for sale and I thought of you, but I didn't have your phone number or anything. I totally would have picked you up one had I KNOWN you wanted one! I think I will be down your way in February. We are looking for plane tickets.

I LOVE the sneaux pictures! I especially liked the one of Brendan sprawled out on the floor, the dog's face, and the one of your house with the trees framing it. Those trees are HUGE!

coteau_chick - I like your pictures too. Your house is beautiful and I love the decorations!

I have not put up ANY Christmas decorations. I don't think it's going to happen either, unless it happens on Christmas Eve. I work up through the 23rd and I only have one day a week (Sunday) off, so I don't think it's going to get done for a bit. Of course, once it goes up, I'm also bad at taking it down....but Christmas trees are still nice in April, right?

I am sorry I havent been around all week. Grace is sick. I took her to the doctor twice and the hospital twice. Finally on the second trip to the ER they finally x-rayed her chest and discovered she had pneumonia. SP? She had it in both lungs. She was in the hospital from Monday to today. It was pitiful. She is doing much better now. I am soooooooooooooo tired I haven't slept much at all in the last week.

I love your snow pictures too. Your house is so pretty. I love my porch. It is my favorite part of my home. We sit out there all the time.

 Oh wow....glad to hear Grace is better! She's your DD right? I cannot keep everybody and their family straight around here! :headache: That is a long time to be in the hospital; she must have been REALLY sick! Poor girl. Why'd it take them soooo long to diagnose that though? I'd be so angry!

We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow. For some reason I just cannot get anywhere near as excited as yall were last week. Maybe because it's NO FUN to walk up and down hills in it while cars splash the muddy puddles into you and arriving at work soaked and freezing. :confused3 I'd love snow if I could just sit inside a cozy, warm house and watch it fall outside!

Grace is my dd. The first trip to the doctor they said she had tonsilitis. She did have a really bad case of it. The next day she was breathing funny and had a temp of almost 104. I took her to the emergency room and they x-rayed her throat not her lungs. We were there for six hours and got nothing acomplished. I went back to the pediatrician the next morning and he gave her a shot and said she would be fine in a couple of days. That was on Friday. By Monday she looked halfway dead. She had no strength left. She couldn't even move and she was running a temp of 104. We took her back to the emergency room and they decided to do a full work up probally just to shut me up. She was dehydrated and her white blood cell count was way high. Both of her ears were infected and she had pneumonia in both lungs. My husband cried for two days. He went to the gift shop and bought her ten foil balloons. He bought everyone that had any kind of character on it. He also made me go buy her a small Christmas tree for her hospital room. He decorated her door with pictures. We brought her some toys from home so she would have some familiar things around her. She is doing so much better now that we are home.

I agree with you. I would love snow but I would love to be somewhere when it snowed and be all cozy with a fire place and hot choclate. I don't think I would want to have to walk someplace in the snow. I know it would get old after a while.

Thanks for the compliment on my snow pictures and my house. I would love to go to New York one day. I do love living in the country though.

Wow...she was really really sick! So scary! How old is she?

Playing in the snow is fun too, so long as you have a place to do it and a warm house to go inside and warm up quickly. I would not play in the snow in the park by me because I never know what is under the snow. :scared:

I would love to get OUT of NYC one day...soon! I am tired of living here. And now they are adding and/or raising 88 taxes. It's getting nuts.

Oh...and I'll be down your way again in February. :goodvibes

Grace will be 18 months old next week. What part of Louisian are you going to?

I live twenty minutes from Lafayette. Are you going there for work?

Not so much. It's my break week. We always get President's Day week off for "Mid-Winter Recess". It's the only thing that saves our sanity during these long cold winters and dealing with these kids. Most of us travel somewhere - just to get OUT of NYC! My friend is thinking about going to Aruba; other people are heading to other places in the Caribbean, California, or Florida. And I'm going to Louisiana.

My work IS sending people to Orlando in February. Guess who was NOT selected to go on that trip?!? I think they know I have one foot out the door and do not want to send me to any "professional development". :rotfl: I only know about the trip because my friend got selected to go. It's hush hush and will be even when they are out of the building...last year I think some of them went to California and the year before I think was Atlanta.

Maybe I didn't get selected because I didn't go to the local "staff retreat" where they discuss the following year's plans. Whatever. Gag me that sounds like a horrid way to spend a weekend. The first year I didn't even get invited. They invited "all the staff" except the people they don't like. They took a staff list and highlighted all these names - so everybody knew all 10 people that weren't invited. Then last year I got invited but didn't go.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I hope your holiday is great! I hope all is well with all of you; this thread has been mighty quiet lately!

So Cirque de Soleil will be in Baton Rouge the same time I will be so I'm going to try to get tickets. It's the Saltimbanco show. I am waiting to see what days I will be in what city though so I just hope they don't sell out before I get a chance to buy them. :scared:

This is sad. I just had to get caught up on my OWN trip report!!!! I'm glad y'all have been keeping in touch:rolleyes1 I'm sorry I haven't been around much. So much to talk about!!!!!

Laura,

I am soooooo sorry to hear what you went through with Grace. I'm even more sorry that I didn't read about it until now. I hope she is doing better. Poor baby girl. I can't believe your DH cried for 2 days. That made me cry! I can't even imagine seeing your baby in the hospital. And at this time of year! I am just so happy to hear that she's feeling better. I bet Santa was extra special to her this year:) Did y'all have a good Christmas? Nice and hot. The weather is just crazy. We've all been sick too, but not as bad as Grace. Aubrey is on her 2nd double ear infection, Brendan is still on meds from his ear infection, and I am recovering from an upper respiratory infection. I was sick as a dog! Guess that's what happens when it's snowing one day and then almost 80 the next!

I hope to be around on the DIS more now that the holidays are coming to a close. Too many things distracting me and I really miss it. I've been kind of in a funk lately and I think my DIS friends are just what I need to cheer me up:hug:

Bethany,

I CANNOT wait to hear all about your trip! I hope you had a wonderful time. I thought about you the whole time you were there. I must see pics:)

We really enjoyed our snow day but I honestly don't know how people live in it. I mean, it's pretty and cozy and all that good stuff, but I can't imagine getting out in it every day going to work, getting the kids to school.... Uhhhhh, not for me. Although, I would rather that over having a 80 degree Christmas day! That was depressing. I have the AC running right now. Like I said before, this weather has done a number on the kids, and me! I think I'm ready for summer!

I heard that Cirque d' Soile is coming to BR. I'll have to look into it. I bet Aubrey would love it. You'll have to let me know when you're coming down here. I would love to see you!

So, have you thought more about moving? Sounds like you're really ready to get out of NY. Don't blame you. It just seems so expensive! I know you have a plan and you'll end up where you're supposed to be:)

Alright, I am off to get together my next post... Thanks so much for sticking around. I just love all of y'all!

Hi again,

I know I have been missing for a while, but as I always say, my DIS friends are always in my thoughts. This past month was crazy. Well, the last few weeks in particular. Jason started having a severe ear ache a few weeks ago. He never complains about anything so I knew that this must really be hurting him. We figured it was his tooth because of where it was hurting and the fact that he has really bad teeth. I think he's got a filling in each tooth! He went to the dentist first thing in the morning and she told him that there was nothing wrong with his tooth and that it must be a sinus infection. He bought some over the counter sinus medicine and went on his way. By the end of the day, he couldn't take the pain anymore and went into an afterhouse walk in clinic. That doctor told him that it was a sinus infection and gave him some antibiotics and pain meds. He still couldn't sleep again that night and when he doesn't sleep, I don't sleep. I was so worried about him and the infection. You don't want to mess with infection in your head! I've heard horror stories about that. Sooooooo, the next day he decided to see an ENT. That doctor told him that it didn't look like a sinus infection and that he should go back to the dentist!!!!!! LONG story short, he did end up going back to the dentist and had to have a root canal! She wasn't able to detect the infection on the first exray. Uhhhhhh, so 4 co-pays and 3 prescriptions later, he finally got some relief:scared1: It was insane. So while all of this is going on, he gets notified that he's being deposed. He is a physical therapist and one of his old patients is suing his doctor. Jason really had nothing to do with the case but they just wanted his opinion. That took forever. Just something else to worry about. Then, on Monday the 15th, we got some horrible news. One of our best friends from college died suddenly the day before, running in a marathon in Dallas. It was a complete shock. She was 29 years old and the picture of health. Aparantly, she had some kind of congenital heart defect. She collapsed at mile 23 and died instantly. This was a very rough week for me. I cried all day, every day. And then we find out when the funeral is... the 19th, my birthday. Yay. Needless to say, my birthday sucked.

So now it was time for Christmas and I was so ready for it to come and go. The holidays are just so stressful. From coordinating the actual day, to getting presents wrapped, to making everyone happy, to trying to pay the bills after spending so much $$$ on other things!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: I really thought I was going to lose it. Christmas day was not that enjoyable for me. I have just been down in the dumps lately. I just keep thinking about my friend and her family. She and her husband had only been married a year and a half. If you could have seen him at the funeral. His mother literally had to hold him up when they were walking out of the church. It was by far the worst funeral I have ever been to. So that just left this cloud over me, and it's kind of still there. I'm trying to snap out of it but it's hard. I think what I need is a big dose of Disney and the DIS. I just need some distraction.

My husband's family announced that they want to go to Disney for Thanksgiving next year. I am soooooooo excited! We had planned on going back in March of 2010 for Brendan's 3rd birthday but now we're going to do this instead. I have already started halfway planning it in my head. So sad.

I also have another plan up my sleeve. I booked a trip for two of my sisters and their families for this coming May. It just so happens to be the week that we're supposed to go to the beach with Jason's family. I have decided to let Jason take Brendan to the beach, and me and Aubrey will head to Disney to meet up with my sisters for a few days. I really hope this all works out. I think we would have so much fun, just the girls. As you can see, I have changed my ticker so now I have to go right!!!

Well, I think I've gotten you caught up on most of my drama. I'm sure there's more but I don't want to bore you. My goal is to snap myself out of this funk and start feeling better. Thanks for reading along. Epcot post coming up next....

Day 7...

Today, our plan was to go to Futureworld in Epcot. I was excited to ride Soarin'. I think this is my favorite ride. Something about that music. We woke up and took our time. The kids were really exhausted at this point in the trip and so were we. These expressions just say it all...

epcot002.jpg

They did not want to get back in that stroller and I can't say that I blamed them. But oh well, you do what you gotta do. On our way out of the hotel, I stopped to snap a pic of this hidden Mickey in the carpet. I tried to amuse the kids with this but to no avail. We needed to keep moving!

epcot003.jpg

We walked over to the International gateway and waited for the gates to open. This is such a pretty area. I loved being able to walk to the park. We definitely got spoiled with this. Here's a shot. I want to be right there, right now!

epcot012.jpg

We had on our blue stick figure shirts today and we were getting tons of compliments. Aubrey and dad stop for a second to take a picture. Cute!

epcot009.jpg

Jason got this hat at the gift shop of the hotel. He's always wanted it. He wears it all of the time but for some reason, lately he's been looking like the unibomber when he wears it. I don't know why but now we call it the unibomber hat, not the Mickey hat!:rotfl:

It seemed to take forever for the gates to open. There was a pretty big crowd there waiting to get in so we slowly made our way through the baggage check and were inside. We took our time strolling through the world showcase on the way to futureworld. It was a quiet morning and I was trying to take it all in. It just seemed to be extra quiet today, which was nice. I snapped a few pics. Things just look quiet in these pics. Maybe I'm crazy:)...

epcot016.jpg

This is a cool pic. You can see Jason's reflection in the water....

epcot017.jpg

We made it to The Land pavillion. We strolled the kids up to the door and realized that there are no strollers allowed inside!!! I guess I had never noticed this before. This was not going to be good.

I am so sorry to hear about you drama too. It has been crazy for both of us I guess. I knew something must be wrong for you to be staying away from the boards that long. I am so sorry to hear about your friend.
I had the same feeling as you about the holiday. We were in the hospital for four days. When we came out I couldn't take Grace anywhere in public. I still can't until Tuesday. We had to cancel our Christmas plans. We usually have both families here. Everyone had to make other plans because we couldn't have Grace around other kids. It took two doctor visits and two emergency visits before they figured out what was wrong with her. It was pitiful. I am sorry your babies were sick too. Brennan started throwing up this morning soooooooooooooo we are not out of the woods yet. I have kept Grace home and away from everyone but us and now she is exposed to a virus. I am so scared she will dehydrate again.

We were supposed to go to Tennessee for Mardi Gras but long story short it has been postponed. Yesterday morning Faron and I were sitting on the porch drinking coffee. Out of the blue he asked me how long would it take me to plan a trip to Disny World for Mardi Gras :woohoo: . I said I already have one planned just in case. I want to book it but I wasn't sure how serious he was. He was busy with Courtney yesterday taking her car shopping. She is getting a car today. I asked him a little while ago if he was serious yesterday and he said yes but we need to talk about it tonight. If we do go it will be a camping trip to fort wilderness. I am so excited about this. That is only like seven weeks away. I would have alot to do. If we do go I am not telling Brennan about it until we leave. He will think we are just going camping and then we will surprise him. I had to tell Courtney because if we try to surprise her you never know what reaction you will get. She might get mad and make up want to throw her out of the car. Just Joking but you have to know the feeling.

Here is a picture of Grace in the hospital. She was terrified and she didn't want to get out of the wagon. This picture was taken after she started feeling better.

I'm sorry to hear things have been rough. That is horrible about your friend. So sad when things like that happen. :sad1: Anyways, I'm glad to see another update too! I agree about Soarin. It is definitely one of my favorite attractions and the music is amazing. I found it somewhere online a while ago so now when I listen to it on my ipod I can picture each of the scenes. :goodvibes

Disney Tiger...Oh....wow I am so sorry to hear about all of you being sick and then having your friend die so suddenly like that, and at the holidays no less. :sad1: And to think you had been tentatively planning to go to WDW for your birthday then ending up at a funeral for a good friend instead probably made it even worse.

Why don't you and your DH celebrate your birthday sometime this week? Get a sitter for the kids and go out for a nice dinner just the two of you.

Your pictures from Epcot are stunning. The colors are so vibrant. I went to Connecticut today and OMG everything was GRAY. That picture from the Imagination pavilion has so much color in it!

Have I thought about moving? Gosh I feel like it's ALL I've been thinking about lately. :sad2:

I see you have a few trips coming up! That is fun...we are probably not going back to WDW until summer 2010 at the earliest. Who knows.

Coteau_chick
...I hope Grace is feeling better and does not get sick again.

I think in 2010 Mardi Gras and President's Day week (the week many Northeast schools get off for mid-winter recess) overlaps, so if you want to go during Mardi Gras 2009 would be better. We have it off and I know in 09 we have the week just before Mardi Gras off (the week I'll be in Louisiana). Disney knows about this President's Day week and raises the prices for the crowds from up here. :headache: Hence why I never go in Feb break and opt to go in August instead. The weather in August down there leaves a little, no, a LOT, to be desired but at least it's value season!

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm glad Christmas is over. I know that's horrible. It's usually my favorite time of year but I just don't know what the deal was this year. I didn't even feel like decorating which is totally NOT me. Oh well, onto next year!!!

Can I tell you how excited I am about you possibly going back to Disney for Mardi Gras!!!! I was grinning from ear to ear when I read that and I laughed out loud when you said you have a trip planned "just in case". That's hysterical, and I totally know what you mean. I could leave tomorrow for a trip and feel completely prepared! I hope y'all get to go. I guess Faron is wanting to make things up to his baby for being so sick?? Everyone wins! Did Courtney get a car? How exciting. Now, a whole new set of worries for you, right:rotfl:

Grace looks so happy in her wagon. I'm glad she's feeling better, poor baby girl. You need a vacation, I just decided! Tell Faron to call me:lmao:

I'm sorry to hear things have been rough. That is horrible about your friend. So sad when things like that happen. :sad1: Anyways, I'm glad to see another update too! I agree about Soarin. Thanks. I am trying to look more positively at things now. A new year, a new chapter!

Soarin' really makes my heart sing. It's just such a beautiful ride. I have the CD with music from all the rides. When I hear the music from Soarin', I can really picture myself there. I hope they update it one day. It would be cool to see new scenes!

Yeah, the birthday trip didn't happen but oh well. Going to a funeral on my birthday was not my first choice, trust. But DH and I did end up going out that night to my favorite restaurant. There were also a bunch of our old friends in town for the funeral so we all got together for some drinks after dinner. It ended up being a pretty fun night, talking about our friend and all of the memories we shared. It was sad but we celebrated her life, just like she would have wanted us to do.

I understand about everything being gray. Not only is it 80 degrees here, it's also been really humid and rainy. So depressing. I love these pics from Epcot too. Everything just looks so peaceful. And you're right, the colors are really pretty! Where do you think you'll be moving? I would love to pick up and start over somewhere. Jason and I always talked about doing that when we first got married but it just wasn't going to happen. i am the youngest of 7 kids and we all live here in BR. We're very close and I just don't think I could be that far away from them. Oh well, I do love BR though. I just wish we had more seasons here!
