Alright, so we stroll up to the door of The Land and realize that we have to park the stroller. This was a huge concern for me because it is very hard to contain my kids. Having them strapped down in the stroller makes life easier. I knew that Jason and I would be doing parent swap on Soarin' so that meant we would each have the kids by ourself. I was nervous, and rightly so. We decided that Jason would go first. Off he went. There I stood, staring my kids down waiting for them to take off. And they did. In opposite directions. My Lord, you should have seen me. I know people thought I was crazy. I was literally running around like a crazy person. Brendan took off up the escalator and Aubrey headed for the exit ramp of Soarin'. That was fun. Then Aubrey saw Living with the Land and pitched a fit because she wanted to get on the boat. I think it was maybe 9:30 at this point and I was bribing them with everything under the sun. Suckers, Coke, chips. Whatever they wanted, they got. Wow, I'm making my kids out to be a bunch of banchies!!! They really aren't, but they get a taste of freedom out of that stroller and it's all over. After what seemed like 3 hours, I finally see Jason coming down the exit ramp of the ride. I'm pretty sure I shed a tear of happiness. He saw my face and knew this was not going to be fun. Thankfully, Aubrey was still begging to go on Living with the Land so that's what they did. At least he was able to keep them sitting in one spot for a while. Uhhhh, deep breaths. It was time for me to ride. I pulled out my parent swap ticket and walked into the fast pass line. For those of you who don't know how it works, the parent swap tickets are just like fast passes except that you don't have to wait for the window of time to come back. You just get in the fast pass line when your spouse is done riding. I took a pic of the ticket for all of my DISers who may be interested...

Here we go. Almost there...

epcot021.jpg

It was amazing as always. I wanted to go again and again but I knew Jason probably needed me to rescue him, so I resisted!! Jason was just getting off of The Land with the kids and we were ready to get out of there! We made it back to the stroller and walked over to The Living Seas. On our first trip to Disney, Jason and I had a bad experience at the Seas. Somehow, we got seperated and did not find each other for probably an hour. I was so nervous. This was before we both had cell phones and we didn't know where anything was. It was our first trip and I didn't know what to do. I sat outside of the ride and he finally made his way out to find me. We were both so mad at each other. I remember walking past The Circle of Life movie and a CM stopped us. He could tell that we were not speaking to each other and made some kind of comment like "what a cute couple". Yeah, we smiled at each other and laughed. Thank you random Circle of Life CM. You saved our trip! Anywho, we made our way to the ride and while the kids were looking at the gulls, the monorail sped by. I tried to get a shot. It came out pretty cool...

epcot027.jpg

Here we go!
epcot030.jpg

The kids LOVED the fish! And the ride was really cute. Aubrey loves Nemo so we really had a blast here. We actually let the kids out of the stroller so they had a fun runnning around. I know I have a better pic of this but for some reason this is the one I chose to upload:confused3

epcot031.jpg

We walked around for a while and then headed over to Turtle Talk. I have never done this before and was determined to do it this trip. Aubrey had different plans. She was not interested in the least so we decided to skip it. Next time. Man, if I had a dollar for every time I said that on this trip!!! We decided to head over to Spaceship Earth. I was so excited to check out the changes in this ride. I had heard great things and was really looking forward to it. On the way, I took some obligatory shots of the ball...

epcot040.jpg

Spaceship Earth was awesome. I love this ride. It's such a classic. And the kids really liked it too! Ok, so the part when they put your picture up on the little cartoon bodies??? This was hysterical. I was sitting with Aubey and our pictures came out so funny. I literally had tears rolling down my face because I was laughing so hard. Jason thought I was crazy but he didn't get to see the pictures. For some reason, they never popped up on the screen outside of the ride:( I was bummed. I was hoping they would be emailed to me. God, it was funny! Here's Brendan on the ride... Our shirts match the cars!

epcot036.jpg

After SE, we wanted to ride Test Track but found that the lines were way too long. (Insert repeated phrase here________) Next time! So we headed over to Club Cool, and absolute must stop on each trip! I couldn't wait to share the Beverly with my kids. Ok, for those of you who don't know what this is, you MUST try it next time you go. That's all I'm saying. And ole Beverly didn't let us down. No matter how many times you taste the stuff, you just don't ever get used to it. You never think it's going to be as bad as it is. And then you taste it...

epcot053.jpg

Yes, it's that bad. Here's Brendan's reaction...

epcot050.jpg

Their favorite flavor was the watermelon. That is my favorite too. I could drink a gallon of the stuff...

epcot058.jpg

After our refreshing drinks, it was getting close to lunch time. We had ADR's for the princess lunch at Akershus. I was excited about this because Aubrey was very into the princesses at this point. This was not a meal that I had planned but since we had gotten to Disney, Aubrey really wanted to see the princesses. It's all she talked about. I managed to get us in for lunch and I knew she would love it. It turned out to be one of the worst and best meals of the trip. More on that in the next post:thumbsup2

Thanks for the photo of the child swap ticket. That is pretty cool.

I love your pictures of Spaceship Earth. :goodvibes I took photos of my cartoon (no flash of course!) while it was showing. I was by myself in the little car so my face was on both sides! The funny thing was at the beginning when it asked me to select my state and I don't know what happened but it said I touched South Dakota. Uh, NO! I don't live there NOR do I want to!

And gosh, why you gotta leave us hanging on the lunch? :headache:

I loved you update. I laughed when you shed a tear of joy when Jason got off Soarin. Jason had it easy while you rode Soarin he didn't have to chase the kids because they were on the ride. I loved the baby swap tickets too. Brendan was 18 months old on your trip right? Grace will be 20 months old on our MARDI GRAS TRIP 2009. THATS RIGHT we are going back:banana: I am going to book it today. We decided not to take the camper because the Feb - June offer is cheaper for us because we will burn less fuel in my Acadia than in the big diesel truck pulling a camper. We are lucky to get 10 miles to the galon pulling the camper. I will start a pre trip report today or tomorrow. I will add the link in my signature. I hope you get to go with Aubrey in May. I would love to do a mother daughter trip one day with Courtney. She bought a 2006 fully loaded Honda Accord yesterday. The note is under our name but she is paying it. She has a job at the pharmacy in the store Faron works in. She only works two four hour shifts a week after school. From 3 to 7 and Saturday from 8 to 4. I don't think that is too bad. I am so proud of her. She put $1,000 down from her own money she earned and we are giving her $2,000. She has to pay the note. She wanted to sleep in her car last night. She changed her mind and came in the house.:rotfl2: I need to make me a ticker now. Talk to you later.

Oh, ya, doncha know??? Ok, that was my attempt at typing a North Dakota accent:rotfl: How funny. Sure you don't want to move there??? Sorry to keep you hanging. I'll post soon. Promise!

Woo hoo:banana:   I'm so excited for you!!!! Would you mind passing through BR and picking me up on your way? You can strap me to the roof of the car! Ok, so can't wait for the PTR. Where are you staying? What will you eat? What will you wear??????????? Oh, the anticipation!!!!

Brendan was 18 months when we were there. He really did good. He loves being in the stroller though. He likes to sit there and people watch. Grace is going to love it. Are you still going to suprise Brennan? How fun!

Wow, I am impressed with your Courtney. Jason and I have always said that we want our kids to be responsible and that they shouldn't be handed things ie: a new car. That's awesome that she saved money to put down and she's making the notes?? You done good girl:thumbsup2 I have a brother in law that is 23 and still does not have his own checking account. Seriously. You're teaching her so much by giving her that responsibility. She'll learn to appreciate a dollar. Unlike my BIL who expects all of his bills to be paid by mom and dad even though he has no job and barely goes to class. Anywho.... I CAN'T wait to read your PTR! I'm so happy to be back on the DIS. I sure missed it!

Absolutely positive I do NOT want to move to the upper Great Plains. It's cold enough HERE. Although I have a sneaking suspicion my next winter will be warmer than this one. :rolleyes1 I was in Minnesota in April 2007 - it was ELEVEN degrees. In APRIL. NO thank you! :scared:

So are we going to try to meet up in February?

11 degrees. Seriously. No human should be subjected to that. That's just insane.

Yes, I would love to meet up in February. We are supposed to be going down to NO for Mardi Gras. My in-laws have a room on Bourbon so that would make life a lot easier. We'll see!

:lmao: :rotfl: So I take it the -5 we had the other day would not go over well with you? :rotfl2:

That sounds like fun for Mardi Gras. I'm trying to figure out (still) where I'm going to be and when. I was looking at the Mardi Gras parade schedule online but my friend says it's not totally accurate and to wait until he gets some yearly guide thing.

During the week I'll be up in Baton Rouge also, but I don't know what days yet. We should exchange phone numbers at some point too.

Our ADR was for 11:40 at Norway so we started making our way in that direction. I stopped to snap a pic before we entered the world showcase...

epcot060.jpg

I was excited about this lunch because I knew all "the girls" were going to be there and Aubrey was going to die! We got checked in and our name was called pretty quickly. I didn't realize that at this meal, you get to take your picture with a princess before you sit. This princess was Aubrey's favorite - Belle! And not just Belle, but Belle in her yellow dress! Aubrey was thrilled. As we waited in line, I could tell that Aubrey was getting a little ancy. I figured she had to potty but she's a good "holder" so I knew we should be ok. We got up to Belle and Aubrey was acting like her normal shy self. The pic came out cute but my scanner isn't working so you'll just have to use your imagination. Sorry:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 DH did get a pic of Belle signing our autograph mat so you can see her in her pretty dress...

epcot061.jpg

Alright, picture, done. Time to sit and eat! Jason takes Brendan to our table and I decide to take Aubrey to the bathroom. No problem right? I mean, Aubrey is very newly potty trained at this point but she's been doing great. We hadn't had any autoflush incidents and she's been going fine. Well, not so much today. I put her on the potty and she freaked out! She WOULD not go. She was screaming and crying and I was screaming right back at her. I know people thought I was an abusive parent. I was just so frustrated! She had to go but she wouldn't. I swear we were in that bathroom for 15 minutes. I finally told her that she wasn't acting like a big girl and that I was going to have to put a diaper on her. She was still napping and sleeping at night in diapers, so this really wasn't too big of a deal. Only problem was, Jason had the diapers. Uhhhhhhh, I was so aggrevated at this point. We went back to the table and I informed Jason that he needed to put a diaper on Aubrey. He understood and took her off to the bathroom. What a great dad. So, there we are, me and Brendan. Just chillin' at Akershush by ourselves. Our waiter, Thomas, came by to check on us a few times. He was great. So patient and didn't seem bothered by our potty drama at all. So, we sat there for what seemed like an eternity and Jason and Aubrey finally show back up. Aubrey is a different child. She's laughing and skipping, but wait, her shorts are SOAKED!!! What in the world. Jason had taken her to potty and she was giving him the same trouble she gave me. He did end up putting a diaper on her but she still wouldn't go. He had the brilliant idea of taking her out to the fountain to see if that would help move things along! How funny. I would never have thought of that. Well, boy did it work! My poor baby, she had been holding it for so long that when she finally went, she soaked the diaper and her shorts through! She was so relieved once she went and was ready to have a good time. I felt so bad for her but to this day, she still talks about that and how she shouldn't hold it for so long. I mean, what was I supposed to do? She just wouldn't go! You can lead a little girl to a fountain.... Sorry, that was bad.

Anywho....... we ended up having one of the best meals of the trip! The food was GREAT! I had a grilled salmon sandwich with bacon and mushroom soup and Jason had a BBQ pork sandwich. We ordered Aubrey a pizza and it was delicious! They also had an awesome bar with green salad, shrimp salad, chicken salad, all kinds of cheese, salami... it was so good. Then there were the princesses. Oh, Aubrey was so excited! First came Jasmine. She was beautiful and flirted with Brendan...

epcot066.jpg

He thought he was hot stuff!

epcot065.jpg

epcot067.jpg

Then there was Alice. Aubrey loves Alice in Wonderland. It kinda trips me out but whatever...

epcot072.jpg

epcot073.jpg

She had Aubrey giggling. Too cute!
epcot070.jpg

Then there was Ariel. Aubey was perplexed as to why Ariel was walking on her tail. Ariel was very sweet and showed Aubrey her feet. She reminded her that she was human now and lived with Prince Eric. Aubrey said, "oh yeah". She just forgot! Daddy wanted to get in on this one...

epcot079.jpg

Then, the biggest suprise of all, Cinderella was there!!!! This is aparantly very rare. She sometimes shows up but not often. Aubrey was so happy to see her, and so was I. I remember feeling like a kid myself with butterflies in my stomach. It was fun!

epcot087.jpg

After all of the princesses left, Aubrey found a birthday card on the table. Ariel must have left it for her and we didn't notice!

epcot090.jpg

epcot092.jpg

She thought this was way cool.

Now it was time for dessert. Let me just tell you, this stuff was awesome. I really don't remember exactly what everything was, but man was it good!
epcot084.jpg

Our wonderful waiter Thomas had noticed that it was Aubrey's birthday and brought her out a special treat - a cupcake with a candle and a card signed by all the princesses. He was great with her. I just love Thomas!

epcot081.jpg

epcot080.jpg

Ummmmm, icing.

epcot086.jpg

And after! Haaaaaaa! Can you tell what was her favorite part?

epcot089.jpg

Man, this lunch started out really rocky but it was over. We had a blast. I looked at my watch and we had been sitting at that table for an hour and a half!!!!!!!!!:scared1: No one ever made us feel like we needed to leave. It really was one of the best experiences there and we will be doing it again when we go back. And to top it off, the picture with Belle was included! I don't understand that because we paid less for this meal than we did at Chef Mickey's and Hoopty Doo Review and neither of those pics were included. But that's a rant I will go on later. :rotfl:

Hi! I just found your trip report today and read the whole thing! DH and I will be taking DD for her first trip in September so it is helpful to read reports with kids close to her age. I also have to add that I went to see the New Kids too, actually I went to both Chicago shows and Milwaukee ;) The concert was great! I look forward to reading more.

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: OMG what a lunch! I like your writing style, by the way. And the pictures, as always, are great! :thumbsup2

I loved the pictures. You are going to have some awesom scrapbook. Your kids are so cute. It looks like Audrey is really reading her card. Her cupcake was so funny. She licked it clean. It looked like a little mouse nibbled on it. I noticed your new ticker. I guess your trip is all set now. I cant wait to read about that trip report too.

I didn't get around to starting my pretrip report today, but I will do it soon. I will let you know when I start it.

WOW! I am impressed that you read my entire report! Thanks so much! How old is your DD going to be on your trip? It was hard, don't get me wrong. But I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could! It was the best time of my life, I really mean that. I think about it every day. Just yesterday, Aubrey made me get the video out that we took and we watched the whole thing. Y'all are going to have such a great time. Where are you staying?? I want details:)

So glad to find another NKOTB fan! I would have killed to have gone to another show. Lucky:love: Thanks so much for reading along. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip too!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: OMG what a lunch! I like your writing style, by the way. And the pictures, as always, are great! :thumbsup2

Yeah, the lunch was quite eventful. But it did end up being wonderful. I'm glad you like my writing style. I pretty much just write whatever comes in my head. When I'm doing a post, there are usually kids pulling at my legs or screaming in the other room so I really don't have time to proof what I'm writing. When I go back and re-read posts, I think that people probably think I'm crazy!

Scrapbook?? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I haven't even begun to think about my scrapbook even though I bought everything I needed to make one on our trip. Couldn't even tell you where that stuff is at the moment:scared1: I have been saying that I will start the scrapbook after I finish this report. I just don't think I could do both at once!

Aubrey really did end up having a blast at the lunch and she loved the card. I'm telling you, Thomas was awesome. And the cupcake, that cracked me up too. She licked every bit of icing off and said she was done. So funny.

Yeah, I think I have pretty much convinced Jason to let us go in May. It's going to be my mother's day present. We have extra points to use from DVC and I'll use our tax return for the flight. See, I have it all planned out. And oh yeah, we have 2 days left over on our tickets so that will save $$ too. It's just meant to be. The only thing holding me back right now is the high flight prices. Hopefully they will drop soon. I don't get why they're so high with gas being so low. Who knows.:confused3

Waiting with great anticipation for your trip report! You must let me know about it as soon as you get it up!

I got my pre trip report up. The link is in my signature.

Did you check Southwest.com for flights. They usually have them pretty cheap. You would have to fly out of New Orleans. I checked flights for my MIL to go to Colorado in May and I thought they were pretty cheap.

The Southwest prices are from $99 and up! That's high for SW. When we flew in September, we got 3 roundtrip tickets for $500. That's how much it would cost just for me and Aubrey to fly. Oh well, I will pay it I suppose! It's only money right!

Off to check out your PTR. I am so excited:banana:

Does JetBlue fly from NOLA to Orlando? I know you can fly from NOLA to NYC-JFK but they are not always cheap. Sometimes they are very expensive.

You could always drive...oh wait you mean 10+ hours in the car with Aubrey does not sound like fun?

Well poo, jetblue does fly to orlando but not from New Orleans??? And they don't fly out of Baton Rouge at all. I just don't get the BR airport. It's pretty big and still no Southwest or Jetblue???:confused3

Er, I would rather have a root canal while simultaneously having a ingrown toenail removed than drive to Orlando with Aubrey by myself:scared1: So yeah, that would be a no.

 I'm sorry. Have you tried kayak and orbitz and all of those? Sometimes too you can find cheap flights on the major carriers if you book direct on their websites.

Yes, JetBlue flies to Orlando...I've flown that route a few times (NYC to MCO) on JetBlue. Last trip I even flew out of JFK but into LGA. I love me some JetBlue. I'm flying American to NOLA in February and I'm kinda ehhh about the whole thing. It's not even direct flights. I layover both ways - Chicago on the way down and St. Louis on the way back. In winter no less. :scared1: But the tickets on American were like $250 r/t and on JetBlue they wanted something like $600+ per person r/t. Uh, yeah can't afford that!

I've only ever flown Southwest to Orlando. It's such an easy flight from New Orleans. An hour and 20 minutes. Can't beat that! I think that the prices will drop once it gets closer. I need to download Ding.

Hope everything works out with the layovers in the winter. I don't get how airlines come up with the schedules. There is a flight out of Baton Rouge to Orlando that has a layover in Houston:scared1: Now, that's just stupid. Why would I go 5 hours in the opposite direction and then fly back over Baton Rouge to get to Orlando???:confused3 Don't get it.

Layover in Houston from BR to Orlando? :lmao:

I had this funny (no, not funny) dream the other night where I got diverted to Detroit and then had to spend the night. They were like "go drive around and find a hotel" and I was freaking out because I know nothing about Detroit. What an odd dream. :confused3

I have other crazy dream stories too....I will save them for another day. :rotfl:

After we finished up our wonderful lunch at Akershus, we decided to take a ride on Maelstrom. I didn't think the kids would be able to ride but turns out there was no height requirement. I love this cheesy ride. You should have seen Aubrey's face when she thought we were going over that big drop backwards:eek: It was priceless. We stopped in the gift shop to do what every other person who has ever walked through that gift shop does...

epcot103.jpg

Takes a picture with the troll. And then...

epcot096.jpg

Takes pictures in the viking hats. This just never, ever gets old. Kind of like the Beverly!:lmao:

We decided to start making our way back to the hotel. The kids were exhausted and poor Aubrey had had a rough afternood. Brendan pretty much fell asleep immediately in the stroller and Aubrey's eyes were getting very heavy. We walked through Morocco and we saw that Jasmine and Aladdin were out. Aubrey had wanted to see them so bad. If you remember from earlier in our report, we saw them when they were just finishing up a character greeting. They walked right past us and Aladdin said hi and called Aubrey and Brendan by name because they had their names on their shirts. Aubrey loved this and it freaked me out because the guy sounded exactly like the cartoon! Weird. Anywho, we decided to get in line but Aubrey would have nothing to do with it. She was beat and was not getting out of the stroller. Hard to believe that these were the same kids that I was chasing around the Soarin' pavillion just a few hours earlier. Now I couldn't even get them out of the stroller to see two of her favorite characters:headache: Sooooo, I decided to be the kid and took a pic with them...

epcot105.jpg

It was actually Aladdin's idea. He said mom should get in one for once! He was great. We hung out after and had a mint tea. :rotfl:

After my photo op with A , we headed to Germany and stopped for a beer - Spaten - one of my favs!!:drinking1 I noticed these beautiful yellow flowers and took a ton of pics...

epcot111.jpg

It was such a beautiful day but it was time to get rested for MNSSHP. We walked to the hotel and found our "secret" entrance. This was so funny. It was a back walkway that led from the BCV to the Boardwalk. Every time we turned onto it from the Boardwalk, someone behind us without fail would say..."oooh, wonder where that goes??" It was our own little secret. Here is Jason trying to be discrete:lmao: :rolleyes1

epcot112.jpg

We got back to our room and the kids went straight to sleep with no complaints. I was pretty tired too and that beer had made me extra sleepy. I curled up in our big bed and took a rest while Jason went back out to France to pick up Aubrey's parasail that we had ordered the day before. I knew he was itching to get out on his own and explore the countries so I was happy to let him go. It was a great afternoon and I was really looking forward to the party that night.
