Turn the Bus Around and Take Us Back to Disney! *COMPLETED*

Okay, so we just finished up in Morocco, and if you know the layout of the World Showcase, then you know EXACTLY whats up next&JAPAN! :woohoo:

I LOVED the Japanese pavilion, and its unfortunately one that I didnt get to even look around very much, so I am so excited for our next trip, because I will be spending a lot more time there! Everything was just sooooo cool! I found so many things to buy, and so much yummies! They have like a mini-grocery in there! It was nuts and awesome!

Anyhow, we had big plans for this pavilion long before we arrived here! If you read my PTR then you know that we had already been planning on doing the pick-a-pearl here! I ordered Cinderellas Carriage pearl cages one chains for the girls off amazon for about $6 each, and had packed them to bring with us, so those were in my bad ready for the pearls!

This was soooo much fun! I did get some video of it too! But basically they have a whole ceremony! First you start by picking your oyster, I have heard that the ugliest one house the prettiest pearls so we all looked for the ugliest, slimiest oysters we could find! Then you learn a bit of Japanese as you count down to open your pearls! And finally the measure the pearls for you and bang on the drum they have in celebration! It was loads of fun and I would highly recommend it! I did take a look at some if the prices for the jewelry to set your pearls in, and I am SO GLAD I pre-bought mine. A similar style carriage cost about $60 there&versus $6 that I paid, so yeah, you get the picture!

Olivia, Margo and I all picked a pearl, and Olivia actually ended up with the biggest one! She was so excited! We had them put into our jewelry and it was all pretty cheap, I believe it was about $14 each to pick the pearl, so not bad at all, especially since you get to do the whole ceremony part and take place in the fun experience!

After our pearl picking fun, we browsed the shops some, I found all sorts of things I loved, especially all these cute bags!

Sadly, everything in Japan was pretty pricey, so I decided the pearl was enough&and oddly enough I could NO HATS! :crazy2: None! Japanese must not be fond of hat wear! So we had to improvise and we took a photo with this fan instead!

Olivia and PawPaw in Japan..

Like I mentioned before, we also checked out the small grocery in there as well, there was all sorts of snacks, candies and drinks. I would like to spend some more time in there and pick out some stuff to try next time.

But I did get to try one Japanese snack! Upon the recommendation of a friend I made sure to grab some Kaki-Gori! (Hope I spelled that right!) Basically its a Japanese snow cone! There was a little stand for it as you make your way out of Japan to America. I got the rainbow one.

I dont know what it was about this treat, but it was YUMMY! It had a different consistency of a regular snow cone. The ice almost seemed like teeny-tiny little balls, and the fruit flavors they used&well they were delicious! You should most definitely try some! It was very refreshing!

We had to stop and get a photo in front of the Torii Gate!

Japan was just beautiful!

We didnt get to go in there or even walk around it, but I did snap that photo because it was so beautiful!

Oh, and on our way to America we got to see the props for Illuminations being brought out to the bay go by! So neat!

Up next was America, Ive gotta say, we didnt even go in here&we were, at this point, trying to hurry along to Japan to meet Mulan, and plus, well, we live in America! So we quickly stopped at the kid station for stamps, and then went on our way. I didnt even get a hat picture! I really would like to spend some time there next time though! I have heard the little show inside is good and it seems neat how its more set in Colonial times.

So basically we breezed by the good ole US of A and we decided to skip Italy and Germany since wed be dining in that area later in the day and went straight on to CHINA to meet the infamous Mulan!!

It started drizzling about this time, and so they had Mulan moved inside of a building, I think also because of the rain more people were rushing in there to get out of the rain and noticed the Mulan M&G so there was a looong line! But, we waited, I could not miss a Princess M&G and this is the only spot you can really meet Mulan, so wait we did&

But, it was actually pretty cool! The building itself was spectacular! This is just the ceiling!

Also, they had some Chinese Acrobats that were performing inside! So that was cool to see while we waited in line. It was EXTREMELY loud, due to all the crowds that were in there, but not too bad. Once we finally made it to our turn with Mulan I was soooo happy to see her! She was a GREAT Mulan, she looked fantastic! Sadly, no PP Photog though, so only my crummy phone photos& L

Again, we didnt look around too much in China, but I did grab out hat photo!

And we did find the kidcot station!

And soon we were off to Olivias favorite country of the day and her favorite ride in Epcot, up next, the one with the trolls!!

Alright, so I have heard the most hilarious thing about Norway! I have had some tell me that it was strange and dark, with all the trolls and all, and others say there kids seemed to have a weird fascination with it, and many have raved about the school bread from the bakery there&well ALL of those things hold true for us!

I had to crack up at the Malestrom! What an odd ride! It was dark, and if you knew nothing about Norway before that ride I would think your impression would be that you never would want to visit it! The ride was very dark! It all seemed a little spooky with the trolls and Vikings and the oil rig stuff&didnt see much I would like to visit at all! Hahah! But Olivia loved that ride! I think it was a scary ride for her and she likes scary rides! She loved it! She talked about that ride the rest of the day!

Even the little town where you exit the ride was sorta dark!

Hat photo!

Knowing more about Norway because of our research before we left, I loved this pavilion, it was beautiful! The Stave Church replica was stunning, and I just really enjoyed it! I know that this is also were Frozen was set, so I am even more excited to go back again! I hope we can still meet Anna and Elsa there later in the year when we go again! I also plan to do the Princess breakfast at Akershaus next visit!

But for this time we simply enjoyed checking things out&

And I did stop in the bakery for some school house bread for the hubs! He was still gone sick, but I figured I would hold onto it for him, because he is a lover of pastries and I have heard so many wonderful things about this! The inside of the bakery was beautiful too!

Finally! After what seemed like the whole day we made it to the other end of the World Showcase, and a country we are very familiar with, Mexico!!!

Even though we are surrounded by Mexican culture here in the San Antonio area, we still loved this pavilion! It was done really well!

We even got to take a ride on the Gran Fiesta boat ride!

Maddie got in on the hat action here, too!

We were pretty darn pooped by this time, annnnd it was almost time for dinner! So we made our way back towards Italy and Germany to wait for our reservations and Chris, who had finally woken up feeling a little better and was on his way back to us! :cool1:

Next, the one with the Oompa Music!

By the time we made it back to the Germany area Maddie was pooped, so she decided to take a little nap on Margo, while her, Bob, and Laci found a shady spot to just sit and chat with people for a bit.

Olivia and I went on to check out Italy and Germany while we waited. Sadly, I dont think that I got any photos of Italy! Not even our hat photo! I guess my brain was fried by this point!

But I did find a really awesome stand in Germany that does glass etching for a really great price! My hubs is a beer coinsure&he loves to try new beers! So when I saw all the awesome beer steins and glasses at this stand I knew I HAD to get him one as a surprise for having missed most our day! His favorite character is Goofy, so Olivia and I picked out a Goofy glass and had Daddys Beer etched into it! I think I paid around $20 for this! Not bad at all in my opinion! And they package it up really well for travel!

It was so cool, you could stand there and watch the glass etching going on too!

Germany was pretty cool too! Again, we have a rich German heritage around us in the Texas Hill Country, but it was still fun!

FINALLY!!! The hubby rejoined us and it was time for DINNER!!!! We ate at the Biergarten! Again, the hubs lives beer, we all enjoy German food, and the men in the group LOVEEEEE buffets! So this was a great choice for us! :yay:

The food! Oh, man, the food!!!!! It was great and PLENTIFUL! Heres some photos of just a COUPLE of our plates!

And, of course, the BEER! :thumbsup2

Haha, I love Olivias face in the background there! Its like shes thinking& I dont know if you should drink all that with the medicine you took earlier, dad!

Also, another reason I chose this restaurant&the MUSIC!! Classic German Ooompa music! The band was great! The kids in particular LOVED dancing! Olivia wasnt shy at all about joining them! Even Chris went out and danced with her! You can see her in the red shirt! :dance3:

So, naturally, we were all re-energized and STUFFED after leaving the Biergarten! We had almost a couple hours before Illuminations so upon Olivias insistence we HAD TO take Chris to Norway to ride the troll ride!! Haha, then we finally made our way out of the World Showcase!

Up next, the One With the Mickey Bar!

I just have to say I adore all the hat (and fan) pictures with Olivia!! She is so stinkin' cute! And how adorable is Maddie with her giant sombrero?!?

Pick a pearl sounds so fun. We passed it to go see aurora and then forgot to go back. The shopping looks fun too!

We skipped getting some school bread too :( my DH is not a big snacker when we're there and so I don't think about stopping at all these places. I always kick myself later for not making us stop.

Glad you liked biergarten! We loved the music!

That sounds awesome! I'd def do several days during F&W! I think when we go back well leave a day to pick if we want to revisit EP or HS, we loved both of those! Really all the parks...I wish we could do like 2 days at each and 3 at MK! That'd be a long trip!

Our trip has turned into 12 days:cool1: so we should be able to see what we want :rotfl2: we have it planned as 3 EP, 3 MK, 1 HS, and 1 AK, plus HDDMR and cirque de soleil, and a resort day in the middle. Plus, we are doing the PH because we figure if we want to go back to HS or AK a little we can split up some of our days since we are planning on mid day breaks. We'll see how it goes!!!

Free dining is not announced yet. BUT i did get a pin for 35% off resort. Call them you might have one!!!

I booked for Sept. which of course my planning is in FULL swing. If you wanted to follow my PTR.. Im really excited for the MNSSHP
Well honestly i am just excited about going back!!!

Yes the pose was WAY too cute!!! she is your comedian!!

Not going to ask too much about the upcoming trip since THIS is your trip report and will not so patiently wait for the PTR.. :lmao:

I knew I forgot something in my last response......you had asked and I wanted to tell you, I DID start a TR! if you want to read, you can follow the link in my signature! hope you hop over there!

Wondering if you could tell me more about your Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique experience....planning it for my 4 and 8 year-olds and my 5-year-old niece for trip at the end of April. My little one has a thing about her hair being "too tight" and I can imagine her just wanting the bun out of her hair 10 minutes after we're done. Did your daughter complain at all? Was it really tight? and, did it stay put for a while? What kind of maintenance are we talking about? :) It looks like she had that cute little bun for most of your trip.
Also, my 8-year-old does not like princess-y clothes but I would love to get her pic taken after she is done. Did you see any older girls in less-princess-like clothes? She would never agree to wearing a frilly dress. She more of a tank top and shorts girl. I have really enjoyed reading about your trip! Hope you get back there soon!
Thanks!!

Of course! I love telling people about the BBB! For my daughter it was truly the highlight off her trip! We were just discussing over dinner tho thee night what would be the one thing each of us would want to do again when we went back and the she immediately said the BBB! :)

But as for the hair...Olivia is really used to having we hair styled and so it didn't bother her at all, but you're right in assuming that bun is TIGHT!! Like will stay 3-4 days if you don't mess with it tight, zero maintenance! It was a helmet of hair on her head, lol... But the Fairy Godmothers are really good at what they do and I didn't see any kids complaining while it was done.

That being said the bun isn't your only option! They have a couple other hair styles to choose from too! You 8yo may be more interested in the pop princess look, they add hair extensions in funky colors! It's not a bun, so will be more comfortable, and then you get to keep the colorful extensions for later use! Lots of princesses had this hairstyle too! They still do your makeup and nails too if you want! Also, you don't have to do the dress! You could just get the makeover and she could stay in her comfy clothes! Lots of kids use costumes bought from home or just had their hair & makeup done! So I'd think that'd be great for her!

Also they have the Pirate makeover at The pirate League if she isn't into the whole girly thing. They have some fun looks there, including a mermaid makeover. But we preferred BBB big time!!

If you go to allears.net and search BBB I believe there are pics of the different styles and prices and what's included!

Hope that helps!!! :)))))

Omg, that sounds perfectly amazing!!! I would love to see Cirque!! I just saw my first one in Vegas a couple weeks ago, Beatles Love and I was BLOWN AWAY! Coolest thing ever! So glad your doing HDDMR! We just had convos the other night about the one thing each person in our fam wants to do again and the hubs and I both said HDDMR! How exciting!!!
