I was so excited! We were finally getting to visit Tomorrowland! Whoo! Again, just so classic Disney, and I could not WAIT to see it!
We walked around bit and took it all in until we came across the Buzz Lightyear ride, we parked the stroller and hopped on in line.
I must say, I am not a fan. After Toy Story Mania, this ride was just blah. And I sucked at it, so that probably is affecting my opinion as well, haha! But seriously, you can’t tell where your laser is pointed! It was no fun for me, because I am competitive and I soooo lost at this one. Even my ride photo was a fail…
Normal….
Normal….
Fail!
Haha, I thought the photo was done already and I turned to tell Chris that I didn’t think my photo was going to be good and
FLASH! There it went! And clearly Olivia is a wee bit too short for the ride photo! Oops!
But after the ride we had a bit of fun! In the store area a CM gave Olivia a blaster to shoot Zurg and then she got to take a photo!
After protecting the Galaxy with Buzz we headed over to the Carousel of Progress to check it out. So…hmm…again, classic Disney. But for me? Booooring. But it did make for a lovely cool rest stop! So I enjoyed that. Chris actually loved it, he thought it was great. What we didn’t love??
1. Getting the song stuck in our heads….
“There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday….”
2. Some point very early on in the ride Maddie must have gotten
VERY comfortable and she decided to have a restroom break. ..in her diaper…and oh my, the smell…
NOT GOOD! We were in the front row and I hadn’t noticed the smell until the room would turn, then it would waft down the line and we would all groan! Then the smell would settle when the show would continue and then again, as the room turned, the smell would waft. It was an ugly, ugly cycle! We were all dying laughing, because there is nowhere you can go until the ride is over. So that, I’m sure, will forever be engrained in our memories, and I have no doubts when we visit Disney when Maddie’s a teenager we will still be talking about the time she pooed in the Carousel of Progress!!
We hit up the People Mover next! This, I loved!
And just look how happy those CM’s are in the background! I love Disney!
What fun! Getting a bird’s eye view of everything! And Olivia enjoyed the dark parts! I could totally spend all day on it!
After that the littles hung with Mimi and PawPaw while Chris, Laci and I tried out Space Mountain! You have no idea how excited I was! I had been looking forward to this for
MONTHS!
However, I must report, although I appear happy in the photo, this ride wasn’t all that! We rode the left track and it was
PAINFUL! So jerky! We advised the M-I-L not to ride because of her neck…and I ended up with a very harsh bruise on my side. After that impact I spent the remainder of the ride with my arms wedged in beside me trying not to get banged around, boo.
But I am happy to report of some fun we found in the gift shop! A photobooth that take your PP+ card! Woo!
What fun!
It was getting to be lunch time right about here, so we decided to find someplace to eat. After my research, I already knew I wanted to try Columbia Harbour House, and I shrimp basket sounded delicious, so on we went!
The place was pretty crowded, but there were plenty of lines and tons of seating upstairs, so it only took us about 10 minutes or so and we were already finding seats.
Turns out, Chris and I both ordered the shrimp baskets but they accidently gave him fish baskets so they let us keep those and still gave us our shrimp plates! So basically we ended up with
TONS of food!
And Maddie’s face upon seeing a table
FULL of food…
Everything was great. Nothing real spectacular about it, but very superb for theme park food, I would say. I have zero complaints. The fries and cole slaw were both great as well. The desserts were just okay, but that might be because I was so full!!
All in all, I will most likely end up eating here time after time. I liked the seating and space. Food was good, especially for a quick service. And the service was excellent.
We needed to let our food settle a bit, so after lunch we opted to do a must do from Chris and Olivia’s list…The Hall of Presidents! Yes, I did just say this was on my four year olds must do list. She loves presidents! We often study them, and her faves are Honest Abe and George Washington. Again, this was a great rest time for Maddie, cool and dark, and a real moving show for the rest of us. I am so glad that Walt had a vision for all these amazing things. It was just to cool.
After our little break and some exploring in this area we thought we could hear someone calling out to us…it kinda sounded like “yo ho, yo ho..”
I bet you can guess where we were headed!
Up next,
