We were soooo excited for our lunch today, because we had reservations at 50s Prime Time Café!!
It was raining like crazy so we tried to carefully dash over to the restaurant and had to pull out the rain cover for the stroller for the first time. Once inside, we checked in for our first ADR and had no issues. We found a little spot in the living room to wait for our family to call us back to eat!
While waiting a bunch of special plumbers or at least I think they were supposed to be plumbers came in and were entertaining the people waiting. I found it especially hilarious that when I turned to check on Olivia I found her planted in front of the tv!
Just goes to show that no matter what era, kids will be kids, and they love their tv!!
I really did love the waiting area, it completely looked like my grandmothers house!
Soon enough we were called back and introduced to our Cousin Tim! Tim was laid back and borderline rude, but pretty funny and kept up the theme well. He was great in letting us know our options of having shakes instead of drinks on the
DDP!
So, of course, we all had to order shakes! I mean why wouldnt you get a $10 shake instead of a $3 drink when your on the DDP, it would go against my bargaining brain not to do so!
Chriss meal- Moms Sampler, consisting of fried chicken, meatloaf, and pot roast with all accompanying sides, a vanilla shake, and Dads Brownie Sundae for dessert. All was amazing, especially the fried chicken and the sundae! Look at all that crap on there for goodness sake! Crazy! The food was
sooo good, like I cant even convey, and the portion all rather large.
I had the post roast with mashed potatoes, though I regretted not getting the sampler when I caught a whiff of the fried chicken, but this pot roast was awesome. Seriously great. No complaints, except that I wanted more!
Yumm! I was totally a member of the clean plate club after that meal, as you will see! I got a chocolate shake, so thick and lovely. And my dessert was the smores! Yum, but not real hot when they brought it out, like it had sat for a bit.
Olivia opted for a classic kids fave, chicken nuggets with mashed potatoes, all yummy. She got sweet tea and split my shake, and she had the build your own sundae for dessert!
Our meal total came to about $100 for the three of us! Totaling up all the money we would have spent, it became clear we definitely saved doing the DDP, so happy with our choice, and I will
ALWAYS do it! It was just so stress free I cant even tell ya&
Also awesome, was the cute viewfinder that is the dessert menu!
Once the bellies were full to the max (and then some) I decided I wanted to my
#1 must-do, The Disney Junior Live show! Olivia and Maddie spend every single morning watching Disney Junior during the week and they love the songs (me too), the characters, and everything about it so I knew this was one thing that they would both enjoy supremely, boy was I right!!
Margo, Bob and Laci went off to do the great movie ride, and Chris and I took the girls and went to the show. It was
AWESOME!!!!!!!
I
LOVE how they put this show on, the sitting on the floor is perfect because both Liv and Mad had so much fun dancing around and clapping. They effects with the bubbles, snow, and gold doubloons was so cool, and they loved it. And, of course, it was all about the music in there. We got to see all their faves and sing along to every theme song we love and it was just the most perfect thing. I would have done it twice if time permitted, but I will for sure do it every time while they are little! Total must-do with the littles!!
Anyway, after the best show ever, we saw that Sofia was doing a M&G, and I didnt even know that Sofia was in the parks yet so we
HAD TO hop in line!! Sofia is Olivias new fave, by new I mean besides the classic princesses. She wanted so badly to do her BBB makeover as Sofia, but the parks are not quite on the ball yet and they have no Sofia thing available yet. Though I was told
SOON,
veryyyyyy SOON!
So we waited about ten minutes in line and tried to just keep ourselves entertained&
And soon we were meeting Sofia! What a magical moment for Liv. Chris was holding Maddie so sadly I think this is one of the few M&Gs we didnt film! Bummer because Olivia was too freakin cute with her! She was doing all her hand movements like a princess, and bowing and everything, seriously, adorable. Anyway, we got her autograph and photo and Olivia was on a total Disney high!
Somewhere in the madness of this morning we took a restroom break, and I just have to post this one pic in here, because I think its so cool that at a lot of locations Disney even goes the extra mile by providing smaller sinks that the kiddos can actually reach! I
LOVE this! Thank you Disney, its these little touches that make life easier for me!
Next we made our way to meet up with the rest of the fam at our next must-do, Lights Motor Action!
Talk about cool. I couldnt even believe that shot I caught, so neat! The show had several bugs unfortunately, like they didnt do some jumps for some technical reason, and Lightening McQueen had an issue and never got to come out&but it was still pretty cool. One downside- the smell of burnt rubber, ick! Now I know shy they change tires for every single show! I dont know if I would do this every time, but definitely worth seeing!
Finally, after all the shows and sitting we had been doing we were ready to get down to business, and that meant
RIDES!!! There was a whole section of the park we had yet to see, and the monument of that section was looming overhead, just beckoning us to it&
Next up,
The One With the Creepy Bellhop!
