Meeeeep! Meeeeep! Meeeeep! Meeeeep!
That was what I woke up to on this glorious day! Normally I HATE waking up to an alarm (who doesnt) but not today! Today I was going to see the epitome of Disney, The Magic Kingdom!
Fyi: I do know about the wake up calls from the characters but we were too tired each night to call and set it up! Next time!
Words simply cannot express how joyful I was this morning!! I sprang out of bed like it was nothing and started getting myself ready. Once I was done Chris was already up and getting ready and he took care of Maddie. I woke Liv and she got herself dressed and I finished with her hair.
We grabbed some bagels for Chris and I, and some cinnamon raisin toast for the girls, along with some bananas and we were ready to head to Landscape of flavors again!
I had already gathered our bags for the park last night, so they were ready and waiting in the stroller. Most of the trip we had 2 bags, one that acted as a purse/diaper bag and held all our important stuff, and one insulated one with bottled waters and snacks.
We made our way to the main building, and stopped off at the front desk first. They took literally only one minute to scan our cards and activate our Magic Your Way package on them. So we ran over to the food court and grabbed our mugs.
Yummy coffee for Chris and I, and hot chocolate for Liv became our morning routine. We threw all our breakfast goodies into the toasters and were done with breakfast in about 10 minutes. The rooms were a little trek back, so we decided to just hang onto our cups for the day.
Cup rant, go!
One thing that really bugged me on this trip was all the stuff I needed to carry, specifically the cups. No one wanted to walk all the way back to our rooms to return them everyday, and we wanted to take coffees with us, so we ended up having to carry them around in our bags and 7 cups take up lots of space! Blah, by the end of the trip we pretty much stopped using them because of the inconvenience. Also to be noted
they did activate our cups because of the new RFID chip in them, this is supposed to make it so you can only get drinks from your resort, however when Chris inquired about how that works with paper cups and so on, the CM told us that it wasnt even working yet, you could still get drinks at any resort. He stated that just having visitors know about the RFID and activating their cups was helping to deter the issue. Blah! When I inquired as to why Disney would be so stingy, I was told that it was actually the soda company (Coca cola) that had the issues. So there is that. He also said eventually the paper cups were to have RFIDs as well
seems crazy to me, but whatever!
Anyway, so onward
the rest of the crew met up at breakfast and soon we were all ready to go! We got to the bus about 7:30, which was the time I told everyone we needed to be at the buses each morning, so go team go for making it happen! I had no doubts, my fellow travel buddies were just as prompt as me! Yay!
The MK bus pulled up almost immediately and we walked right on!
Poor Chris, he had to stand on the bus nearly every time with the stroller
Obviously, I think we were all
BEYOND excited when we passed this lovely sign!
Then we started catching our first sights of Space Mountain, and Cindrellas Castle!!!! I kept telling Chris, gah, who knows how many times I cant believe were here and it doesnt feel real! He just nodded and agreed every time. I think we were all in awe.
Getting through the gate took no time at all, and I received many more Happy Birthdays during that. Going through the turnstiles was easy-peasy and took no time at all.
Woohoo! Were at Magic Kingdom!!!!!!!
We waited for some time here. My thinking is that I wanted to ride the less crowded buses early and end up waiting for 45 minutes to an hour at the park for it to open, than to come later and be stuck in a crowded bus behind a crowd of people. For me, the tradeoff was well worth the waiting! And ya know what? It worked. Every time. We would arrive at the parks, no people hardly at all, take pics, set ourselves up at the entry and by the time park opening rolled around we would be among the very first to enter the park, every day! I highly recommend it! The kids did awesome with this routine.
Today, being our first time ever we stayed planted right in front of the welcome area, instead of waiting by the gates to go in, because, duh, we needed to see the welcome show perfectly our first time!!
During our wait we took some pics in front of the near vacant welcome sign and Margo and Laci went to guest services to get their Guest Assistance cards. Bob also did some exploring and took Olivia on a walk to keep her from getting to antsy.
About 10-15 minutes before the scheduled opening time of 9am the Welcome Show began!
Boy, oh, boy! It did not disappoint! I was literally in tears balling at this show! I was just overcome with the magic and the joy of being here with my girls that I was a fountain. Thank heavens everyone else was watching the show, so no one, except maybe Chris, noticed my water works, not to mention my huge sunglasses I got to hide behind!
I cant put into words the happiness I felt when the train pulled up with Mickey and the other characters. It was a simple show, but emotional, still. The girls loved it and Maddie kept pointing and saying Mi Mouuuuuu which is her way of saying Mickey Mouse! She was entranced! Both girls loved the show and the fireworks that accompanied it!
Sorry I didnt snap a single photo, because I was too bust enjoying the show!
Before we knew it the Magic Kingdom was declared officially open and we were passing under the train station!!
What would our first stop be???!!!??!?!?!?
Up next,
The One Where We are in Awe
