Turn Around and See What Happens -- It's Whoopi Time and that's a wrap 3/31; F&G add

I remember feeling like Mark looked.

I feel for Alisha tonight- but hopefully she can just drug him and he sleeps through the worst part.

It is frustrating and he will feel frustrated not being able to do what he normally does.

He probably will be able to go back in 2 weeks. Paperwork and he can coach ....just not do. :)

What a mixup with the surgery! I keep my fingers crossed for Mark and sending healing Pixie dust, so he recovers quickly.

I hate insurance companies.

As for you ...... stay SAFE!!! Haven't you had enough snow this year. ;)

Guess what? They are predicting 2 - 6 inches tomorrow through Wednesday, and then another possible storm on Sunday. :faint:

Lots of great updates, Kathy!!

Thank you.

What a pain in the neck with the shirts! Glad you finally managed to get them.

It was an expensive pain in the neck...but glad we got them.

March business/Disney trip sound fantastic. Did you decide on Marriott?

We can hardly wait...so sick of this weather. We booked the Marriott, but I might cancel (still deciding; the hotel we normally stay at came in cheaper but we couldn't get one night...waiting to see what happens).

I hope everything works out for Mark's surgery and insurance.

It did...thank you.

Sorry to hear about your mom in the hospital :( seems like one thing after another. Glad to hear your brother is doing better.

She's home now, but has to go see more doctors and more tests.

How awesome to be at NU and see Tony wrestle. I'm sure you had a wonderful time. We have truly fallen in love with wrestling in this house!!

We had a great time; it was so good to see Tony wrestle in person. Do you have cable? Check the Big Ten Network...you'll find college wrestling on there and your son will really enjoy it.

Sigh. Tomorrow is Groundhog Day...lets hope Phil doesn't see his shadow because as much as I love winter, enough already!!!!!

Stay safe and warm!

Well, as we know by now, 6 more weeks of winter predicted along with the six inches of snow tomorrow into Wednesday.

Glad Mark gets the surgery anyway !!!Sorry about your Mom Prayers for a speedy recovery for your Mom and Mark !!! Yuk to the 6 " of snow !!! Someone said 45 days till Spring , that can't come soon enough !!!

Thanks, Rosie. Mom home, but still needs some issues. I would be happy if Spring arrived next week.

Glad that Mark can have the surgery after all.

As for the MRI - BOO hiss that is what preauthorization is all about. The provider should have caught that.

Sending prayers and good thoughts for Mark for an easy repair and no pain. REMIND HIM - Get ahead of the pain if he has a nerve block, when it wears
off it is NOT FUN!!!!. After that he should be fine.

Thanks, Pat. Yes, they should have but I'm just happy he was able to get the surgery done and over with. Nurse Alisha is on top of the pain meds and is keeping on him with that.

What an aesome night your party night turned out to be! I love the pictures!! They make me long to go again at Christmas.

Thanks, Ann. We had a really good time.

Your morning pictures at the BW don't help me with my wanting to be there at Christmas again. So pretty with the poinsettias.

You need to get back. :)

Your safari pictures are not bad at all! Especially considering that back seat is so bumpy.

I never want to be in that back seat again.

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. I really do pray his health improves.

Thank you; he's been back to work for almost two weeks and all seems to be going well so far.

Loved your food pictures at yak and yeti. That is one of my dd's favorite restaurants.

Which DD? Zoe or Kira?

Your dismeet looks great! Funny, those can be such a highlight of a trip for me...and I didn't get a single one this last trip.

I love DIS meets; these were our two largest ever.

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy PEW. It is actually one of my favorites... if I can get someone to ride with me. :rotfl:

Nope; just can't do it anymore.

I love the jungle parade in AK. (actually... I love all the parades) So cool you got to watch with the girls.

It really is a fun parade. I'm looking forward to the new one at the MK.

How nice to have an adults only dinner and at Jiko! I have never been there, but it sounds yummy.

It was a nice night out for the adults to have some adult talk.

That is frustrating about the shirts.

It was, but I'm so glad we got them.

Oh man! And now you went and added pictures of WL. :faint: I just have to make a trip back for Christmas now!!!

What they said is true...the WL is beautifully decorated at Christmas.

Too funny about the random person recognizing you. So funny how famous some of you here on dis are. ;)

I totally never expected that.

Your march trip sounds like it will be a good one. :goodvibes

Busy, but a little fun thrown in.

I am so sorry that Mark's surgery was cancelled. If you have followed my own insurance woes... you know I can totally feel for you and how it can not only be such a pain to deal with the red tape of it all...but SUCK! ... but then it is back on! :cool1: I still stand by the red tape of insurance totally being a pain.

Thankfully, they reversed the decision and it went back on. Yes, I've seen some of your insurance woes. It just makes me sick.

Glad that you didn't miss SE this time round.

Me too.

I hope they figure out what is going on with your mom! That sounds scary.

More tests to come.

And with that... can you believe I am caught up on your TR??!!:cool1:

Good to see you again. I have to go catch up on everyone else's.

Glad Markie's surgery went well. As someone who worked for a health insurance company and now works for a doctor's office...I can tell you honestly that I feel your pain. :sad2:

Popping in and Wishing Mark lots of well wishes for today!!!

Thanks, Mo.

Prayers for Mark and your mom

Thanks, Lisa.

Thought and prayers for your Mom and for Mark's surgery today! Hope it all goes smoothly along with his recovery! :goodvibes

Thanks, friend.

You miss a day here and you miss a lot!

Tell me about it; I see lots of people did updates and I'm behind again.

Hoping that all goes well fory your son's surgery today- and glad it is back on- what a mess for him to have to go through at the last minute!

Such a pain...but luckily they got back to him before the close of business on Friday.

Sending positive thoughts for your mom.

Thank you.

And warm, sunny, snow-melting thoughts to YOU! :sunny:

From your mouth to the powers that be ears. We are SO over this white stuff and cold.

Kathy,
Thinking of you today, and praying that Mark's surgery is successful and that your Mom can get some answers on her tests.

Thanks Janet.

Kathy thinking of you today !!Hope Mark' surgery goes okay and good news for your Mom!!!:goodvibes:):flower3:

Thanks, Rosie.

Leave it up to one of your kiddos to carry on the tradition of puttin' on the crazy hats. :rotfl: Seriously, I know that you are worried about the surgery and anxious to hear how things went. Keep us updated when you can.

Lisa, it is scary how much alike the "two" Marks are. :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Seriously, Jeanette...it's scary. :scared1:

Kathy  Hope you hear so good news soon:flower3:

Thanks. :)

 Glad the surgery is done, and hope Mark isn't too uncomfortable during his recovery :flower3: Here's a  for Alisha..because you are right:goodvibes

He's doing good; Alisha gave him a pain pill a couple hours of go; :scared1:so far he's just a little uncomfortable. He is sleeping in a recliner at her parents for two weeks so hopefully he will be okay.

Glad the surgery went well and its over.

:grouphug: on Mark's recovery.

Jill in CO

Thank you so much, Jill. I appreciate it (as does Mark).

so glad that the surgery went well!!! good luck with the snow :goodvibes

Thanks, Raina. Snow! Seriously, so sick of it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Mark so hopefully everything goes smoothly. Please, keep us posted.

Okay, that's what I get for opening several threads, then read and then post. :lmao: I miss the most important post! ;)

Glad to hear that the surgery went well! Now, keeping my fingers crossed the recovery goes well.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: No worries...Karin, I do that often myself. I hope the recovery goes well too.

Good to hear. That was the same sentence I got. I probably made it 4 weeks until I had to get to the supermarket for a quick item. Still in rehab and probably will be for a while. The sling became uncomfortable at about 2 weeks and my elbow hurt. I was okayed to come out of it while it was supported. Showering was interesting for a while with one working arm.

His first question? How am I going to get to wrestling practice if I can't drive? Alisha told him she would be playing chaueffer for awhile.

Hopefully THAT pain is gone now and he just needs to heal.

I hope so.

So Glad the surgery went well !!! Poor Alsiha having to drive and deal with a "poor baby" Loved the Hat pix just sooooo KatMark!!!!

If I know Alisha, she slept all the way to and from hospital (she's like me...she falls asleep on car rides). Her mom took them and did the driving. :)

So glad that Mark's surgery went well! I do feel for Alisha though. Jim has had several knee surgerys so I know how big of a baby men can be!

Men can be a baby with a cold, I can only imagine with surgery. I'm glad it is her job now and NOT mine. :rotfl2:

Kathy, I'm so happy to hear that the surgery was a success. My prayers go out to him (and Alisha) ;)

Alisha will need ALL the prayers she can get.

Glad the surgery went well and Nurse Alisha is keeping him in. I know from knee surgeries you feel OK when you first get released and then all the meds wear off. Not fun. He needs to take it easy and heal.

Thanks; between the two of us, he will take it easy.

Great to hear Mark's surgery went well! Sending my sympathies to Alisha! I know how difficult some patients can be when they have a lengthy recovery in front of them and they have no patience! :sad2::rolleyes:

Thank you! Obviously you've had firsthand experience with someone who had surgery and recovery.

I am using my own convalescent time after my second ankle surgery to catch up on everyone's TR's. I am glad Mark's surgery went well and I hope he isn't in much pain. Looking forward to finding out why you named the trip report that.

Susan

Hi, Susan. I know I posted on FB, but I hope this surgery does the trick. I hope to get that update done in the next couple of days (if not sooner).

I remember feeling like Mark looked.

The one in the bed or the one in the car? :rotfl:

I feel for Alisha tonight- but hopefully she can just drug him and he sleeps through the worst part.

I know Alisha; she probably won't sleep tonight because she'll be checking on him all the time (I think they are sleeping in the family room at her mom's...I think that's where the recliner is and she'll sleep on the huge couch with Rolo; I just hope Rolo doesn't jump on him during the night).

It is frustrating and he will feel frustrated not being able to do what he normally does.

He'll probably enjoy it for a few days, but I'm sure he'll tire of it soon enough.

He probably will be able to go back in 2 weeks. Paperwork and he can coach ....just not do. :)

As long as he doesn't jump up or down or lift his arm up to point to the ref. Hmmmm...it might be better if he took a couple of weeks off from coaching too.

Glad Markie's surgery went well. As someone who worked for a health insurance company and now works for a doctor's office...I can tell you honestly that I feel your pain. :sad2:

Thanks, Ali. And thank you for the PM. I'm sharing it with Mark and Alisha.

Mark does not look like a Happy Camper in the Car:scared1:

Rosie, that child has a beautiful smile and he often doesn't smile in pictures (it's an old wrestling thing...wrestlers don't smile!). I think he was just taking a selfie and didn't smile. He was still under the effects of the nerve block so I know he wasn't feeling any pain at that time. He actually said he felt nothing on his right side.

Thank you all again for all the prayers. You are the best!

I am going to get caught up on all of my other subscribed threads tomorrow and then will get a new update done.

Just stopping by to let you know that Mark and Alisha continue to be in our prayers... I hope he was able to get some good comfortable rest last night, and his pain stays minimal today.

D~

Apparently i am following D around the boards today..

Glad Mark's surgery went well. my prayers are still with them! especially nurse Alisha! :lmao:

This has to END!!!!!!! Not that i am blaming this movie.. but if the glass slipper fits... :rolleyes1

Talked to Alisha and Mark got his pain meds every four hours and besides taking those, slept through night and stil sleeping. She is working from home today and they will work on him using cooling device himself today. If he can hanle, she will go to work tomorrow.

Prayers for a fast recovery for Mark. Glad surgery went well. Now the hard part. I haven't been able to drive for two months now, and it is driving me crazy. My husband, Chris, drives truck so is taking my car to work so I don't drive when he is gone. Yes I have his car, but I gave him that a few years ago when something started draining the battery. So now we disconnect it when its parked.

This winter can go away. I feel like it came in late, but I won't be offended if it leaves. Sad thing I don't know why I am really complaining all I do is sit at home. Sometimes I open the door to feel the cold air.

happy surgery went well, prayers for an easy recovery for Mark....and Alisha!

sorry for even more snow coming your way, we might get flurries this weekend! stay safe and warm my friend!

Kathy
Thankful that the surgery went well, and that Mark is doing as well as can be expected. (btw, love the pre-surgery pix of Mark…. And to pay homage to senior Mark, I say … nice hat pix! :thumbsup2)

Wishing Mark (and Nurse Alisha) a full recovery that is quick and as pain free as possible (for both). Nurse Alisha may need a SPA day after all this. :goodvibes

I am glad surgery went well... now for the healing! I hope he has a speedy recovery... then I hope Alisha recovers from his recovery. ;)

You asked which of my dd's love Yak and Yeti... that would be Kira. It is a must do for her she like it so much. :goodvibes

So glad to hear things are looking up for Mark.

Continued good thoughts for continued comfort and no pain.

Thanks, D. His first night was good; last night not so much. :(

I told Alisha she was a saint in my book.

This has to END!!!!!!! Not that i am blaming this movie.. but if the glass slipper fits... :rolleyes1

Yes, please. We came home after my nails and we had six inches on our three car driveway to shovel. We finally finished at 9:10. I'm pooped.

Prayers for a fast recovery for Mark. Glad surgery went well. Now the hard part. I haven't been able to drive for two months now, and it is driving me crazy. Thanks, Sandy. Yes, he had no idea how much pain he would have. He said it is worse than the two knee surgery and ear surgery he had...combined. Oh my...I can imagine you would be going crazy not driving for two months. Any tie soon you'll be able to again?

This winter can go away. I feel like it came in late, but I won't be offended if it leaves. Sad thing I don't know why I am really complaining all I do is sit at home. Sometimes I open the door to feel the cold air.

It's just so depressing and exhausting. I feel like we've done nothing all winter (besides our trip to Disney).

happy surgery went well, prayers for an easy recovery for Mark....and Alisha!

Thanks, Lisa.

sorry for even more snow coming your way, we might get flurries this weekend! stay safe and warm my friend!

It just never seems to end. There's a chance of snow showers on Saturday, but no accumulation. I hope not...I don't want to get stuck in Dubuque.

Kathy

Thanks, Janet. He is so much his father's son. :crazy2:

Wishing Mark (and Nurse Alisha) a full recovery that is quick and as pain free as possible (for both). Nurse Alisha may need a SPA day after all this. :goodvibes

Actually, Mark booked his wife and I a massage for this Saturday while we are there. Isn't he a sweet boy?

I am glad surgery went well... now for the healing! I hope he has a speedy recovery... then I hope Alisha recovers from his recovery. ;)

Thanks, Ann. Yes, I hope Alisha recovers too. She said tomorrow she gets to help hi take a shower...the first since the surgery.

You asked which of my dd's love Yak and Yeti... that would be Kira. It is a must do for her she like it so much. :goodvibes

Good for Kira; we love it too. Tell her I said hello please.

So glad to hear things are looking up for Mark.

Thanks, Pat. He had a rough night last night.

Continued good thoughts for continued comfort and no pain.

The pain is there, but he says a little better today. Part of the problem last night was Alisha forgot to set the alarm at 1:30 a.m. for his meds. So when she got him up at 5:30 he hadn't had any since 9:30 the night before. He HATES taking pain meds and really wants to start weening off of the. Alisha and I have both told him NOT to rush it. Maybe next week he can drop from two ever four hours to one every four hours. He doesn't take the muscle relaxant very often.

hope he recovers quickly

Thanks, Dan.

I will try to get at least a brief update done tomorrow if the boss gives me five minutes to breathe. I swear you would think he was 40 years ago with all he has on his plate. Seriously, you are 88...slow down. Then add in my other two attorneys, the chore of getting to the office through six blocks of unshoveled sidewalks and I'm exhausted. Tomorrow night I have to do laundry since we will be gone all weekend and I am making my baby cookies to take with us for our visit. He loves his mommy's chocolate chip cookies and I am hoping it helps to put a smile on his face. Since he can't go recruit (too afraid at a crowded wrestling tournament someone will knock into him), we are going to go the casino for a bit. Knowing me if I win I'll be giving it to the kids...especially since they had a brand new furnace installed at the house today...something that was definitely not in the budget.

Oh my! First shower post surgery!! Good luck to both of them. :goodvibes

I will make sure to tell Kira you said hello. :goodvibes

I bet a batch of Momma's cookies will bring magical healing powers for Mark. Hope you guys have safe and easy travels and a weekend full of family fun!

I saw the driveway pictures on FB, and I am not one teeny tiny bit jealous of all your snow. I am pretty much always ready for winter to be over with before it even starts, and that's just what little winter we get here. I can't even imagine the dread I would have if I had to deal with what you guys have to deal with.

Hope you win some furnace money! :cheer2:

I have not been on the DIS all that much this past week with all that is going on. I come back and there is more happening with you than there is snow on the ground (and that's a lot). :lmao:

I am glad that Marks surgery went well. Prayers going out that he will have a complete and quick recovery and that Alisha will have the strenth and patience these next few weeks. I'm also sure mom's homemade cookies will help speed up the recovery. ;)

I hear you with the snow. I AM SO FED UP WITH THIS WINTER ALREADY. It's becoming a very easy job for a meteorologist here in N.E. Ohio; This weeeks forcast, snow, snow and more snow mixed in with frigid temperatures and blowing winds. At least your only weeks away from a return home to WDW, we won't be back until June 2nd. These four months can't come fast enough.
