I just realized, on our last visit to the WORLD, that even though we have spent COUNTLESS hours in the parks, I have yet to try a turkey leg. This is mostly due to my DW EXCELLENT planning skills in making sure that we get the best meals for the best price!

Am I missing anything? :listen:

Noooooo....

We hate the turkey legs. Big smoky tendon filled mammoth legs. They smell nice. Take a sniff and keep on walking!

Aside: when we want to swear, instead we say "Holy Toluka Turkey Legs!"

(that's the turkey leg stand at MGM-Studios. But, it sounds like a swear, doesn't it?)

DH had one and wasn't too thrilled with it.

But the HERONS at WDW LOVE them! :yay:

They smell nice but i just cant imagine myself walking down the sidewalk chompin down on a big ol hunk a meat...not to mention i REALLY hate getting anything on my face when i eat and seeing people eat them remids me of Fred Flintstone chompin on a dino bone or something

Call it tradition... We have one to share on most trips. IMHO: They taste eerily similar to ham.

We always get at least one!

Be warned: I have heard many complaints from those who got one and were dismayed to find that they were not in any way similar to Thanksgiving roasted turkey. They are smoked which leaves them with a taste similar to ham.

I would try it if you like smoked meats. We get one and sit down with a plastic knife, fork and plenty of napkins because they are very messy. I cut pieces off for the girls. They love a turkey leg.

DH has to have one each trip so we tend to split one between 3 or 4 of us. It does have resembling taste to ham. They're ok, dh would say they are really good.

Yes! You are missing a great snack. That is one of our new traditions - from now on we always have to get a turkey leg. We got ours at Epcot this time and it was excellent. It tasted very much like ham we thought. I guess the smoking process also flavors it. They are huge though so for a snack all four of us ate of it. Not bad for like 6 bucks. :goofy: I wouldn't miss it! :worship:

I've never had one. They don't even tempt me, but my DBIL is trying to convince me to go to a park and bring one home for him after our Feb. trip  .

My DH, DS and I all swore we were eating ham-in the shape of a turkey leg! :rotfl2:
Would we get another one? Probably not. But glad we tried this WDW "classic" at least once. :goodvibes

Turkey legs? Turkey legs? MY GOD! They are the best snack on the premises. (Well, the roasted corn on the cob at the American Adventure are pretty good, too.) Hot, with extra salt, and an ice cold coca-cola. Greasy, slimy, smokey, tough, chewy, big enough for two-they are our go-to snack when we are in a snacking mood-particularly one of those carniverous snacking moods. Give one a try, and let me know if you like it or not.
