Do you think it will still be 'good'? I hate for it to go to waste. But would also hate to take the time to defrost and cook it only to have it be yucky and have to throw it away anyhow. Do you think it would be okay?

absolutely not....chuck that sucker.

The max freezer storage time for poultry is 12 months.

I wouldn't eat anything that was that old....

But to answer your question, I have no idea. I don't do the whole cooking thing yet. Unless you could Roman Noodles.:D

I'm sure someone on here will have the answer, but my initial guess would be no it's too old:confused:

Two years is a long time to keep a turkey frozen. It could be dehydrated. I do not think I would take the time to do all this only to find out it's dryed out and taste's like the freezer.

In my freezer I have some frozen crow I am waiting for someone to eat :D

And here I am thinking I was the only person in the world who would do that!

I just threw away a whole chicken that I found in my freezer - I think it was almost 2 years old. My DH wanted to keep it and cook it, I threw it away after he went to work last week!

I doubt it would make you sick... but I also doubt it would be any good. Toss it and go buy yourself another one!

But one should still be good right?

I bought the wrong one last year and didn't do anything with it.

(Actually it still isn't a year old yet.)

Cook it. I'll send my MIL over for dinner to test it for you. I don't care if she gets food poisoning. ;)

I don't think it would actually make you sick, but it probably wouldn't have much flavor other than freezer burn. I'd use it for soup if anything.

How do you have enough room in your freezer that you can just leave a turkey in there for 2 years? I have to eat all the ice cream before I buy anything that big.

Why not just leave it there as an experiment, seeing how long it takes to evaporate. :p

It is actually in my big upright freezer in the garage. I might find two year old ice cream in there too!!!!!! I am in the midst of cleaning out and inventorying my freezers to prevent having to throw away old food again!

Luis, if you cook that thing you better eat it all yourself because I am not touching it! And don't go feeding it to the cats either :p

Give it a month, it'll be a year old

I like Dan's idea, let's just leave that 22 pound sucker in there and see how long it takes to evaporate :teeth: For those wondering we have two fridges and only 2 people in the house so that's why we have space for ours :)

I can top that, wovenwonder.

In my freezer, I have one of the last frozen bags of my breastmilk. My "baby" is now 7 years, 5 months old!!

I have no intention of ever USING that, of course, but I do keep it for sentimental reasons, I guess, especially since there's no more where that came from . . .:(

Throw it out and take the family out to eat instead.:p

Deb, remind me not to go looking for bags of homemade ice cream in you freezer.:teeth:
