Live from the Wonder - Almost
Hello Turkeys
Tried to post live from the Wonder. Wireless internet trouble all weekend. The satilite uplink was out for two days.
We arrived on Saturday AM in Sanford and drove over to the Country Inn & Suites (very close to port) This worked out great. We dropped our car at Hertz and took the shuttle over. We were actually the first the very first people in line. We got our number two boarding card and we were all set. I believe that one is reserved for concierge and suite guests.
We had a short wait and boarded close to 11:45 a.m. which was great. We visited around the Wonder and then went to Beach Blanket for a nice lunch. We met another couple who had sailed the Wonder before, they noted that the food selections were fewer than in the past. I still found plenty.
Our DD Lindsey was really missing her Disboard friends, Mason, Andrew, Rachel and Maddy. She did not think it was the same as our Turkey Sailing.
We had a terrible disboard meet. Our family of three headed to the assigned place only to find one teenager and a grandmother whos daughter had posted several times, but was afraid to come, because she thought we might be predators of some kind???? It lasted about two minutes and that was it, no disboard family... We were on our own.
A few things to note. Many other cruisers noted that the economy was slowly catching up with the Disney Cruise Line.. No more body gel or blue aloe in your daily room clean up. Shampoo and Conditioner were replaced upon request every other day???? Even the chocolates on your pillow were limited to two. No big deal to us, but at the Castaway Club get together it was mentioned by others.
This cruise was a 4 day with two stops at Castaway. This was really nice. We found a spot at the end of the family beach both days. The island as usual was the best part.
The 4 day allowed us to see the new show, Toy Story the Musical. Our family did not enjoy this. The costumes were very good and the signing was great. There were some parts that were actually dark and scared many of the children. ( Sid the next door kid blew up some toys ).
All in all it was a great trip. We met some nice folks traveling with kids. But it was not the same as traveling with the great people we met on our 2007 Turkey cruise. We really can't wait until our 2009 Sailing.
We are now at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.. High Speed internet access, YEAH. Planning on taking in a few of the Magical Hours. We hit Epcot last night and finally after a couple of years did Soaring.. It was great and Karen you were right... Sit in the front seat !
