Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

YIKES! They keep telling us (with each and every snow forecasted) that armegeddon is coming and we're going to get 4 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches, 2 inches....etc. So far all we've gotten is a whole lot of rain with a bit (i.e., an inch or less) of snow thrown in.

No offense...but I WANT A SNOW DAY!!!! Care to ship any of your snow our way?

(Yes, I know, and then I'll complain that we have too much....guess I'm never satisfied am I?)

K

All i can say is I hope the Longs are at their place up at Snowshoe enjoying what must be awesome powder conditions, especially for the East coast.

You could come to my house and ski off the roof!

Did you know that it is 82 degrees and sunny in St. Thomas? Sounds so nice.

Can someone turn the heat on here in Florida? For those of us in Florida, we aren't use to it being this cold for this long.

Those who are getting a bunch of snow, I feel for you. Especailly anyone in the northeast. Who is mad at you?!?!?:scared1:

I got an email with a picture of the Disney Dream and saw the water rollercoaster slide thing. That looks cool!!!!

It is ice and snow here in NH - bbbrrrr - Charlie and I are both sick - so we are home for the day - he is sleeping and I am looking at cruises - NOT that we will be doing that any time soon - but I can dream....

I envy all of you that are rebooked and doing another trip. Sadly when we cruised in November I kinda knew ( but honestly didn't want to believe or accept it) that it would be our last DCL and it does appear to be correct. As much fun as we had on DCL this past trip was bittersweet, although I had been so excited about it I was also a bit apprehensive as it put a very important relationship to the test and sadly it flunked. :sad2: So I look back now at our week and try to remember the good times but the UGH memories filter in.

I have stayed away from the DIS for a few weeks trying to break myself of this habit - but found myself missing you all - missing the funny stories - missing the internet friendships.

Please continue to post and keep me updated on your upcoming trips and pics - so that I can live the MAGIC / WONDER and DREAMS through you all

Lisa

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry! I tell people there are two kinds in this world....those who love Disney...and those who think we're nuts! In my mind though it has more to do with those who have a bit of Peter Pan in us (we never fully grow up) and those who have forgotten the magic of childhood.

Personally, I don't think I'll ever grow up. Lord knows my 71 year old mother hasn't. She tells her grandkids all the time that they'll be very, very sad when she grows up!

Now, I sit here and watch my 11 (nearly 12 year old) son at the beginning stages of puberty and I get sad thinking that he'll grow up one day. But I think (hope, and pray) that I've instilled the sense of magic and wonder in him that will make him always get a special bit of joy at seeing Eeyore. While some may think that the Eeyore we see at the Crystal Palace is just some person in a fuzzy suit (:snooty:) I know that I'm really seeing Eeyore!

Take care and while you may not be cruising with those you cruised with last time, you'll always be a Turkey and we will welcome you with open arms!

Hey everyone,

We're taking a surprise and unexpected trip to So Cal and naturally, we're going to Disneyland! A conference for work got sprung on me in San Diego, so naturally I began thinking how to turn this into a junket...LOL!

We've been in touch with Chun (through Facebook) and we're hoping to see him on the Saturday we are out there. We've never been to Disneyland so if anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them!

Miss you all.

Karen

Karen-

Have a great time at Disneyland!! :thumbsup2 It will be great if ya'all will be able to see Chun and family!! The last time we were at Disneyland, Mason was 4 1/2 years old, so unfortunately I don't have any tips. I loved being in the park that Walt Disney actually "built"!!

Well, we decided what to do for a summer vacation....we booked a 5 night Wonder for the week of August 8th. We would love all of you to join us!! After the cruise, we will be spending 2 nights at Bay Lake Towers!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 It was either Disney or RCCL Oasis....and Disney won!!! :woohoo:

Karen -- how exciting to go to the house that Walt built and for seeing Chun, Felicia and Nathan. Looking forward to hearing about it and how you guys feel about DL vs WDW.

Lisa -- what a great summer vacation! We haven't decided yet - Jack and I were talking about it this morning. Joey wants to go to Canada. I also might keep my eye out for last minute cruise deals -especially, if there is something out of Baltimore.

I am looking into trying to get my company to pay for me to go to the National convention for Case Managers which is in June. This year it's at Coronado Springs!!!!!! Sounds good, huh? Of course, there are 2 boys who are saying "we want to go too," but they are still in school.

Hi everyone. I have been lurking and I am finally posting.

Miss you all, even have a couple of magnets from the FE exchange on my front door to remind me of how much fun the cruise was. Karen - I wear my tee-shirt to Jazzercise - lots of nice comments.:)

Anyway, hope all is well with you all. Sherri, I still have pictures from the House Party for you.
:love:Judi

Hope all the Turkeys and doing great...

The Long's have been on wild ride for the last couple of months... Record snow here and we made lots of trips to our Snowshoe place....

Our Spring Break trip to Disney may get moved to July... Karen said she may get down there for a few days, so I hope to work that out...

We are counting down the days until our Turkey reunion in August 2011.

I hope to get back to posting now that our Legislative Session in WV has ended....

MISS EVERYONE WENDY

Hi to all my Turkey friends!

Boy, do I miss you all. We got out to So. CA in March and saw Chun, Felecia and Nathan for a day+ at Disneyland. Loved it there! Andrew and I have tons of new photos that need to be scrapbooked.

So, you all remember that "great new job" I took in October...well, I'm resigning tomorrow! Yep, made a big mistake...but in the process I learned that the most important things to me are my guys! No, I don't have another job and it looks like I'll be unemployed for the first time since I was 14. I can't say that I'm sorry I took the job....I just know that I learned a lot about what's important to me and that I'll never, ever, ever, take a job again where I don't have flexibility!

So, I guess for a bit I'll be looking for consulting jobs...know anyone that needs a grant written?

Talk with you all again soon....I've got to go put together a street hockey goal before Andrew drives me bonkers!

Karen

Well, just go to WDW, or on a cruise, and forget all about it...LOL

Chuck/Lisa:cool1:

Hiya all :)

boy I miss coming here and talking - typing - whatever

My friends all want to cruise the Oasis - and I keep looking at it - thinking ohhh it is soooo not Disney -- :sigh:

Renee is now 18 - UGH - graduates in a few months - then will attend the local college for 2 yrs for her liberal arts degree....she also got a tattoo yesterday - :confused3 - it is a very small heart - it is nice - but my baby is growing up - she still wants another Disney cruise - even though she is no longer Teen Club age...

I was promoted to a new position three weeks ago by my VP - I moved from my Patient Business office to the Revenue Department. Something I am totally not used to - but I am sure I will do ok...

Has anyone ever cruised on the Oasis?

Who is cruising and when?

Lisa

Hi Lisa-

Congratulations on your promotion!! :thumbsup2 We have not cruised the Oasis, but did cruise on Liberty of the Seas (1 level down from Oasis) last summer. I actually gave Chuck and Mason the choice of Oasis, Liberty or Disney for this summer. Even though Disney is only 5 nights instead of 7--they both chose Disney!! We will be cruising on the Wonder August 8th.
