Has anyone been here for food?

I've read in a few places that you can order from the 50's Prime Time menu and we were just wondering if this true, and also if there were any restrictions on what you could order.

We were going to pop in to the Tune In Lounge for some drinks anyway, and the Prime Time food looks great!

Any ideas?

Yes, it is true. Full menu, no restrictions. I do not believe you can pay with DDP though.

Not totally true, yes, you can order off the regular menu, and YES, you can pay with the Dining Plan, have done it in the past.

I've tried to "pop in" to the Tune In Lounge a couple of times, but whenever I did, it was packed.

It's usually packed. Lounges don't always allow Dining Plan payment and I've never seen anyone pay with the dining plan there, so it is interesting to know they will take the dining plan. maybe that's why it's packed.

I'd really love to know how many people have actually been able to eat/drink in there. Every time we've been in, it's been packed with people waiting for their tables. Even the bar area seems to be taken up with families just waiting.

The other reason that it is packed, is that is the waiting area for the Prime Time Cafe. If you can score a seat at the bar, the bartender will take both your food and drink order. The last time we were there, the lounge had the full nemu from the Prime Time.

One time when I was waiting in the "living room" for an 11:15 AM ADR there were plenty of seats at the bar...probably because it was so early. I imagine like everything else, if you just "pop in" on off peak hours you'll have a better shot. Good luck :goodvibes

DD and I popped in there last summer for a drink, beer for me and Shirley Temple for her (she was only 7, ha!) and although it was pretty busy, we scored 2 seats at the end of the bar. We finished our drinks quickly and left as not to tie up 2 seats for too long. Yes, the living room was pretty full as well with people waiting on tables. I think this was mid-afternoon.

We eat there all the time. We don't enjoy the whole Mom thing. But we really like the food and of course the drinks! :goodvibes So we sit at the bar. It can be really busy but we try to get there during off times. You can also just grab a drink to go if it is really busy and eat someplace else!

DH and I ate there in April. We didn't have any lunch ADRs and decided to stop in to see if we could just sit at the bar and have a quick bite. We had no problem sitting at the bar and were handed the regular 50's Prime Time menu to order from. We weren't using the dining plan so I'm not sure about that but we had no problem using our TIW card. Many times when we've been there for dinner the bar has been packed so I would think it might be a bit easier earlier in the day.

This is kinda what we were thinking... we love the look of the Tune In Lounge and don't think we'd really be into the whole Prime Time "experience" - so we thought it would be a great way to do have the food without being party poopers!
